About Juliet

I have been a teacher in private practice for 20 years. I have a wide range of experience with singers of all styles and age groups with a variety of goals and skills. I sang with a professional jazz octet for a number of years while maintaining my practice, have taught various master classes, musically directed various musicals, have sung background vocals and played piano on various recordings. I studied vocal and piano performance at Murray State University and studied privately through my adult singing and teaching career. *** Lesson Details *** I am a big believer of direct application of core technique to repertoire/style. Generally, lessons are fun, comfortable and laughter is encouraged. I like singers to be working on a wide variety of music from the beginning. It's a ...

I highly recommend Juliet as a singing instructor. My daughter looks forward each week to her lesson. Juliet is knowledgeable and kind. It is exciting each week to watch my daughter progress under Juliet's direction. She offers a very comfortable atmosphere in which to learn and progress and I think any student would find her to be wonderful.

Excellent teacher

To make the long story short, I took various music lessons as a kid, and.. basically, all my teachers gave up on me after a little while... maybe I was so hopeless in music.

I started taking piano lessons with Juliet last summer since I had always been dreaming about piano playing. I have to admit I am a little anxious to many of the lessons, because I have a very busy full time job so sometimes I barely find any time to practice. But Juliet has been so patient, helpful and encouraging. I can tell there had been a dramatic progress during the past year. Although I am still a very beginner, I wouldn't be able to learn many of the skills without Juliet's help.

I am very grateful to have Juliet as my piano teacher.

About Ryan

Hello, my name is Ryan B. I appreciate the responsibility, dedication and hard work that comes along with being a music teacher. To me nothing is more rewarding than the students improvement and their personal feelings of success. Since I have learned how to play a variety of instruments over the course of several years, I have learned how to gather and utilize skills and techniques that I have learned from many great musicians. That means I can take these diverse skills and pass them on to my students! And I am very good at finding just what the student needs to expand their musical horizons. Training: -I have been playing a variety of musical instruments (examples are guitar, piano, trombone, saxophone, trumpet, flute, and many more) for seven years -I am very familiar with ...

Enthusiasm that spreads! His excitement and passion for music truly inspired me.

Ryan is personable, eclectic and respectful. I met him while performing at a show with my old band. He had along his flute and saxophone. Excellent with any ability level and of all ages of students! He is well-versed in many different genres and on many different instruments, although he taught me saxophone. His enthusiasm and passion is contagious!

About Richard

Music is my life. Since the age of 16, I have studied the guitar extensively. During my high-school years I was involved in band, marching band, choir, and independent music theory. I started my first band when I was 19 in the U.S. Army, and my life has never been the same since. I played music professionally in local bands while attending UMSL and have been teaching guitar and musical performance to many students privately for the last 7 years while developing and exploring my own musical goals. Recently I have written, produced, and performed on 5 original music albums, toured from St Louis to Texas and Colorado, and have learned many things about humanity and our culture's relationship to music. Those who share a passion for music form an extraordinary community. Come take the ...

My 16 year old son has been taking guitar lesson with Richard D. for a few months now. First I must say Richard is a extremely nice person. My son think he is a cool guy and looks up to him. My son never played the guitar prior to lesson with Richard, now I can actually hear a song when my son play his guitar. Thank you Richard::::

Perfect fit for my daughter

My 17 year old daughter recently began taking lessons with Richard D., and we couldn't be happier. He is patient and encouraging, and he makes learning fun. She really appreciates the fact that he encourages her to work on music that she likes rather than telling her what songs to learn. He obviously knows his instrument, and clearly enjoys passing on his knowledge. A+ for this teacher!

He is well versed in many styles of music; rock, classic rock, country, blues, classical, and jazz. He knows well how to break down a piece of music and explain and teach it. David M. Saint Louis, MO

About David

Composer and guitarist David began formal music training at the age of 5 on the drums. He taught himself guitar as a teenager and began playing in local rock bands. Initially entering college as a Journalism major, his passion for music led him to Meramec College where he studied Music Theory with Robert C. Howard and classical guitar with Larry Bolles. From 1990 through 1993, he attended Webster University, and became only the second composer in the school's history to receive the BM/MM Scholarship. While at Webster, he studied composition with Dr. Kendall Stallings, Robert Chamberlin, and Kim Portnoy, Jazz History with Paul Demarinis, and 18th Century Counterpoint with Dr. Eloise Jarvis. During his education, he performed with many student ensembles and sat in on master classes by the ...

I've been learning songwriting and music theory from David and it couldn't be any better. He's very professional and personable, and he makes sure to work with you, not above you. He shows a genuine enthusiasm for his students' musical interests and formulates instruction around them. David encourages questions, which creates a comfortable and effective teacher-student interaction. Between my weekly lessons, I find myself impatiently counting down the days until my next scheduled lesson. While the genre of songwriting that I've been working on with David's guidance has been contemporary Christian, I'm sure that he would be an effective teacher in any genre, whether the student were writing songs or playing them.

After the initial panic of trying to learn something at such a ripe old age I was reassured by other reviews that David would be the best bet. They were correct and I recommend him to any age group. After a welcome at the front door assuring me that I was at the right location, he excels in making you feel comfortable. He listens to questions and told me no question was stupid. Takes everything at your speed and recaps from the week before. Is thorough and stops you when finger placement is not correct so you don't begin bad habits. Looks up and acquaints himself with the songs that you want to learn and will stop covering a certain area if you do not want to learn it. He sends you home with just the right amount of practice work and after 3 lessons I feel like I'm getting all of what he's teaching and am improving and adding on more lessons. So happy that I chose David.

My Outstanding Journey

I can't say enough about what I have learned over the past year. To be able to play the gift of music and understand the foundation of it's existence, is truly an edifying experience. My instructor has been absolutely fabulous. His patience, knowledge and his keen ability to translate his knowledge to the specific level of understanding of his students, is nothing short of great. Kudos to you all for having the resident talent to make my, and others, dreams of learning to play music a reality.

Best of wishes to all this upcoming New Year.

Tina is a lot of fun! I am classically trained in choral and opera music, so I chose to work with her to improve my musical theater singing. In just a few lessons I could already feel a difference in my sound and in my confidence! Tina brings a lot of energy to lessons and even more insight and knowledge. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun and effective way to improve your voice.

I have a strong music background through instrumental music and choral singing. Tina has taught me to be a soloist singer, and my auditions and performances have greatly improved. Tina is highly professional, no doubt, but her best quality in a teacher is her continued support to bring out my best vocal performance possible. I highly recommend Tina for singers at any level because she clearly communicates her feedback and her commitment to her students' success.

I am a singer songwriter (in training you could say) and had struggled with singing for years, as I knew nothing other than mimicking and singing along with other songs. Tina has been able to remove some unnecessary mysticism around singing, in my own mind, and focus on progressively improving my songs. Her ear is spot on and always can identify what I'm struggling with.

She will take the time to ensure you are hitting the right notes and does not settle for your second best. Great at helping you understand everyone goes through their own process before the songs can sound great. She has helped tremendously!

Thanks,
Will
