At the core, each student will master the instrument. All students will learn:

how music works and how to apply it to the guitar.

About Ronald

I am an experienced professional with a background in music performance, education, composition, theory and arranging.

*** Lesson Details ***
Few musicians or music students have identical goals, musical interests or physical size. So, It is NECESSARY to customize the course of study to meet student requirements. There are common issues for any serious pursuit of learning involving the guitar; right and left hand technique, fingerboard knowledge, chord knowledge, reading and interpretation.

However, to progress, it is also necessary for the student to practice daily.

I try to maint
ain a healthy balance between the focus on performance and technical issues.

About Daniel

Graduated from Georgia Southern in 2001, with a bachelor degree in music education and Boston University in 2015, with a masters in music education.

Have worked for Atlanta public schools as a band director since Fall 2002.

Private lessons are taught on piano, guitar, and all the band instruments.

I also have a deep passion for Disc jockeying with a bias towards reggae and dance music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can except a stress free learning process. After learning the basic symbols of music notation, breathing, and simple rhythms the students will continue learning t
he techniques and fingerings on their chosen instrument. After mastering these basic concepts in music the children will then be given a chance to perform their songs to an instrumental accompaniment. This is good for the student who does not play in an ensemble to have the opportunity to play and listen to other moving parts.

*** Specialties ***
music, bass guitar, bassoon, children's music, guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, home recording, African drum, music theory, acoustic guitar, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, tuba, songwriting, french horn, trombone, clarinet, recording school, piano
My "Fairweather" method utilizes maracas and rhythm guitar, played Simultaneously to produce a full ensemble effect.

Jimmy C.

McDonough, GA

All things guitar and all styles on electric and acoustic guitars: reading music, tab reading, chord knowledge, strumming patterns, understanding rhythm, fretboard knowledge, finger picking, flatpicking, learning songs, improvisation. Play rock, country, blues, jazz, etc. I teach at every level of playing from beginner to pro-level players.

About Jimmy

With over 30 years experience as a professional guitar instructor, I have been actively teaching lessons in Henry County, GA as well as Clayton County, GA. I had actually started teaching friends as a teenager since 1976 where I grew up in N.Y. and those friends are still to this day professional musicians. I started teaching guitar professional in 1983. Over the years I've had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of students at every skill level, and what a joy that has been for me.

I teach several styles of playing: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Funk, Rhythm & Lead guitar playing, Classical g
uitar and Fingerstyle playing. I teach on electric & acoustic guitar.

I have one basic philosophy in my approach to teaching: get the student to fall in love with the guitar so it becomes a life-long passion. As an instructor, I endeavor to make guitar lessons fun, practical and productive!!! Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, advanced or even at the professional level, I can help you advance your playing skills.

I've had a wonderful experience with Jim, and plan on continuing my weekly lessons with him. His methodology is logical and straightforward, his personality is open-minded, affable, and he's quite the prodigy when it comes to his skill level on guitar. He can fluidly change from a bluesy twang to a warm jazz sound, and switch to a nostalgic riff on the acoustic guitar at a moment's notice. He is everything I could ask for in a teacher, and in the short month that I've been taught by him, my learning curve has steepened with every visit. I'm learning so much from this guy and recommend anyone with an interest in guitar to pursue taking lessons from this guy before everyone else with the right idea books him first!
Sincerely,
An eager pupil

David P.

Atlanta, GA

I've been teaching guitar for almost 20 years.

I am comfortable teaching from a book, but I generally teach guitar based upon the student's musical tastes and goals.

I can get beginners playing songs quickly and I can develop finger skills, soloing, and more advanced chording in students with more experience.

About David

I grew up in Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, and Cleveland, OH, and was classically trained on violin in all three cities by members of their respective orchestras. I began studying theory in 7th grade at The Alabama School of Fine Arts. I continued theory lessons while in Boston at the New England Conservatory of Music. I attended Summer music programs at Apple Hill (New Hampshire) and Sewanee (Tennessee) and have extensive experience in orchestra, quartet, and chamber group environments.

Upon graduating Emory university in 1992 I played professionally in Destin, FL as a bassist, guitarist,
violinist, and vocalist. I performed as bassist and backing vocalist with "Salty Dog" for nearly a decade. I am the co-founder of the Destin, FL band "Beach Mice." We perform for several weddings, corporate events, and benefits every year. Beach Mice is also popular on the festival circuit on the Emerald Coast.

I relocated to Atlanta in November of 2013, and currently perform weddings, and at various restaurants and events in the Atlanta area.

I have taught individuals and group lessons on violin, bass, and guitar since 1997 and for several consecutive years at Playground Music in Fort Walton Beach.

I have several videos available on YouTube, and a website which is easily located through a simple Google search.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you fulfill your musical goals and ambitions. Happy Playing - Cheers! dp

The best.

Even to me (who is a beginner), it's clear that he understands music and its theory on a deeper level than most. He's been working to develop my basic technical skills (eg scales, chords, etc.) but also to learn songs that I love and listen to everyday. He's patient, friendly, not-rushed and just a generally all-around great teacher and great person. Highly recommend!!!

I had a great experience with David. He is really patient while also making you push your own limits. I learned a lot in the first class and I'm hooked.

He is very knowledgable about music and at times, I had to ask him to slow down and explain some of the terminology but at the same time it gave me the impetus to go and learn more. Loved the experience :)
