Clare B. Madison, WI

About Clare

I grew up as a Suzuki violin student in rural Washington state. I received a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Central Washington University. I then moved to London for an academic year to study one-on-one with a violin teacher there. Following my time in London I lived in Seattle, WA and performed as a freelancer and also taught extensively. I am now working on my final year of a Master of Music degree at UW-Madison. *** Lesson Details *** My teaching method draws on the Suzuki method, but also includes ideas and repertoire from other methods and influences. My favorite parts of the Suzuki method are the emphasis on learning by ear and the belief that music should be taught to improve people's lives not just to produce competition-winning professional musicians. Lyle has been a great instructor so far. He has taught me how to think about and practice guitar better. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that he shares in an easy-going way. I feel better prepared and confidant that I can reach my desired skill level, rather than it seeming like a fantasy. Highly recommended.

Lyle is awesome! Lessons are fun and helpful, he focuses on helping you meet your musical goals. I am an adult absolute novice, never played an instrument before, and I feel really good about my progress. If a year ago someone would have asked me "will you ever play an instrument?" I would have said absolutely no and that I didn't think I was even capable of learning an instrument, I considered myself to be very non-musical; but not anymore. 1 star off because we've had a lot of cancellations and reschedules but that's partially my fault as well since our lessons are on Friday nights and he warned me he often plays gigs or has to travel to gigs on that night.

Dafydd is a Top Notch Instructor

Dafydd is an incredibly gifted trumpet instructor. He is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, innovative and artful. I have noticed great improvements in my breath control, technique and overall sound since I began taking lessons from him. He tailors the lessons to capitalize on my strengths and improve my weaknesses by stressing good trumpet playing basics. He has helped me to achieve the competitive edge I was looking for and to gain the confidence I need to succeed as a trumpet player. The lessons are challenging and enjoyable.
Reed L. Madison, WI

About Reed

I love helping people learn how to play guitar...it's that simple, I believe that if you truly want to know how to play, that it will become as easy as anything you've ever enjoyed! I like helping people enjoy themselves while learning! I've been playing acoustic and electric guitars for about 25 years, and I love to help teach people how to get started playing on their own. It's important for me to help clients figure out what they'd like to learn and where they're at currently as a starting point. One of my biggest goals is to teach people how to learn beyond just having me as a teacher, how to take it from there, and make it happen on their own.

Brittany H. Madison, WI

About Brittany

I started teaching in college at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts after completing a voice coaching workshop at the school in 2009. Among all types of styles, strengths and weaknesses, I also enjoy working with artists who are interested in performance critic & songwriting development. All ages and all levels are welcome! My own personal music background started with harp at age 5. By 10 years old I was taking voice lessons and at 12 studying classical voice. As a freshman in high school, the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts accepted me as an incoming student in the Opera Program; my very dedicated Mom & I made the move! Around the age of 16, an interested in more contemporary style as well as a drive to create something my own inspired the shift into songwriting.
