Micah B.

Dallas, TX

I have a degree in English Literature from Boston University. I have written for a magazine, a newspaper, and am currently a City Correspondent for a travel website. I love giving the love of reading and writing to students. I haven't worked with a student yet that didn't love reading after taking lessons with me. I meet the student where he or she is at. I do not force Shakespeare on students with no interest in Shakespeare. I want to create the love of reading and writing, so we read and write about things that the student is interested in. This is how we become able to then read and write about things that are assigned to us in class. I will help all students master the art of reading literature and writing about it.

Micah is the most inspiring teacher. She helped me from eighth grade until senior year; from memorizing Spanish poetry to analyzing essays, we did everything and I understood everything. I felt super prepared for class every week and if I ever had an issue I would just email Micah. Without Micah I do not know if I would have continue to AP Spanish V in high school or if my love for the Spanish language would be the same. I adore Micah and all that she has taught me and my pleasant Spanish memories are all rooted with Micah. If you are looking for not just an amazing teacher but an idol, Micah is the one.

Micah is an amazing teacher. I have been working with her for about 2 years, and I truly enjoy her enthusiasm, energy, and extraordinary ability to teach. I started with the Spanish I remembered from high school and college (many years prior) and had a basic limited vocabulary. I have always enjoyed the language, and becoming proficient had been a goal of mine for a while. I run a busy real estate development company and I travel a lot - Micah comes to my office twice a week and provides me with not only lessons in grammar, vocabulary, and structure, but also encourages me to enjoy learning by introducing me to music, movies, and books in Spanish.
In addition to my face to face classes, Micah has introduced me to another of her teachers and I meet with Olivia twice a week at night on Skype.
Micah has an excellent understanding of language structure, vocabulary, and the quirks that, when she explains them, really make sense and help me learn at a deeper level. She has made learning Spanish a lot of fun because she gets my goals and how I need to learn. There really is no substitute for a great 'maestra' - Micah is brilliant at what she does, she is a professional, she loves to teach and it shows, and I would recommend her and her company to anyone who wants to learn English or Spanish.

Gabrielle is a great teacher! She is fun, energetic, very knowledgeable and extremely patient. The lessons are tailored to the interests of the individual student. You can even record your lessons, so you can listen to them over and over again, as she shares lots of tidbits. She is also quite flexible in scheduling lessons, and understands when you have to reschedule. She not only teaches you about the language, but also the culture. Gabrielle even hosts food events where she prepares French and Italian dishes from scratch! These parties are quite fun, as you get to meet many of her other students. I highly recommend Gabrielle!

Gabrielle's methods seem to be bringing out the best in my ability to learn to read and speak French. I studied French in high school, but that was 40 years ago. My first 2 hour session Friday was my first opportunity to speak French in those 40 years. I was surprised how came back to me in those 2 fleeting hours!
