*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are geared towards a set of goals that are created between the student's wants and my expectations for them to be successful at what the student wants to achieve. For each student, I use a different set of pedagogical tools designed to get them to the goals they want. The main goal I have for all my students is that their fundamentals on their instrument will be at the level that they can complete their goals with ease. Over their time with me, they will have the skills to coach themselves when they practice and tackle any music they come across.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect them to provide and music stand and their music. These are both things that they need to have at their home for practice.

*** Specialties ***
I teach and perform both jazz and classical music. Almost any style that uses a trombone or brass instruments, I have performed in and have a strong foundation in.

I am former music major and long time amateur trombonist and was looking for someone to help bring my playing (back) up to the next level. Bill has been amazing at being able to spot areas for improvement and clearly provide several suggestions and approaches to correct them. Very pleased and highly recommend!

Bill is a stand-up guy. My 11-yr-old beginner daughter is happy with her lessons so far and he interacts with me in a friendly and polite manner. He is respectful of our time and does what he says he's going to do. Can't ask for much more. We are looking forward to a summer of trombone lessons with him.

I have been teaching all ages and levels of French horn for 10 years. I believe in teaching outside the book, to give each one of my students an individualized plan to reach their goals. I will always go above and beyond to steer you in the right direction, and to make your music experience last a lifetime.

Students can expect to be appropriately challenged with repertoire, in a supportive, communicative environment. I am happy to work on school repertoire, pop tunes or music from the standard repertoire. I believe in efficiency and getting the most out of your practice time. We all lead busy lives, I will teach you how to accomplish your goals with the time you want to invest.

Unfortunately I do not teach beginners online, only in person. It is impossible to develop the appropriate sound and skills without being there in person. I can help you find someone in your area, please feel free to reach out!

About Jessica
Thanks for checking out my teaching profile! I currently live in New York City (Queens) where I freelance and teach a variety of students. As the school year is about to begin, I have availability during the week and on Saturdays. I suggest booking sooner rather than later! Please feel free to send me a personal message if you have any questions.

I have experience teaching beginners, both young and adult! I include music theory and history into each lesson but am also available for tutoring. I have taught masterclasses at high schools and universities, and am currently working on my own pedagogical resource for brass teachers.

I use a variety of materials to best fit what the student needs and would like to get out of taking lessons. I enjoy teaching and playing music and I try to make sure my students have fun as well!

About Phillip
Hello! My name is Phillip M. and I have been playing the Horn for 15 years now. I started back in elementary school and haven't looked back since. After high school, I went to Central Michigan University where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance while studying under Dr. Bruce Bonnell. While I was at CMU, I performed with the Symphony Band, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, Horn Choir, and a Horn Quartet. I then went to Western Illinois University where I studied under Dr. Randall Faust and earned my Masters in Horn Performance. While at WIU I performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, and Horn Ensemble. I also played with several local organizations while at WIU including the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, Monmouth Civic Orchestra, Quincy Community Theatre, and
the Knox-Galesburg Symphony. I also have solo experience and have put on a junior recital, senior recital, two graduate recitals, and I performed the Hindemith Horn Sonata with the WIU Symphony Orchestra as a Concerto Competition winner as well as participate in many horn studio recitals during my college career. I am now living in Rochester Hills where I have been teaching private lessons, teaching Horn sectionals to local schools, and performing in several local orchestras including the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and Macomb Symphony Orchestra. I am willing and happy to teach all levels of musicians and I hope you consider me if you are interested.

I have been teaching horn for four years, with students ranging from 10 to 17 years old, and various skill levels! I study at the Cleveland Institute of Music and have a drive to have my students love music and horn! We would work on what you want, as well as new pieces to always keep it interesting and keep you progressing!

About Miranda
I have been playing horn for eight years, and am currently studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM). When I was in high school, I auditioned and was accepted to various youth orchestra and wind symphonies throughout Northeast Ohio, including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, the Akron Youth Symphony, the Canton Youth Synohony, and the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, so I am very familiar with regional youth orchestras!

At CIM I am a part of many ensembles, including Orchestra, Brass Chamber, and Woodwind Chamber. Twice, I won a scholarship from the Musical Arts Society as well as a Concerto Competition in high school through the Akron Youth Symphony. I have studied and am currently studying with members of the Cleveland Orchestra as well as the Akron Symphony and Canton Symphony Orchestra.

I love to teach and enjoy sh
aring my love of music with my students! I look forward to meeting you and helping you become a better musician!

I am a certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in music education, and I am also working towards my master’s degree in horn performance. Whether you’re wanting to take lessons for school, as a hobby, or anything in between, I will create lessons that are catered specifically to you and your goals. I have been teaching private lessons for 5 years, and it is one of my favorite things to do! I love teaching one-on-one and being able to see (and hear) my students grow.
I also have professional performance experience, some of which includes playing for Disneyland in California, marching with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, and subbing in professional orchestras. Part of what I teach my students who are looking to further their musical experiences is how to prepare for auditions and guidance on how to stand out amongst many other applicants. I also stay up-to-date on the many musical opportunities that surround us, both in the Denver area and across the world, so that I can share

About Devlin
Hey y’all! I am a graduate student at the University of Denver working towards a Master of Music in Horn Performance. I earned a Bachelors in Instrumental Music Education from Arkansas State University in May 2018, and I just recently relocated to the beautiful state of Colorado. I have been teaching lessons for a little over 5 years.

I have performed in over 20 states as well as Northern Ireland, England, and Germany. The next place on my list is Switzerland! I love to mentor students who aspire to share the gift of music with others. Music is one of the most rewarding professions and hobbies, and I would be happy to help you both improve your skills and find opportunities to further your musical experiences. In the end, it is all about becoming your best musician.

Some of my interests outside of music include animals, traveling, an
d hiking. I am very passionate about both teaching and playing the French horn. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask! Also, if my times do not work for you but you are interested in taking lessons, don’t hesitate to ask if I can meet at another time. My schedule can be relatively flexible.
