I have been teaching singing for 4 years and my students vary from amateurs to artists who prepare for auditions and take part in performances. Within the first few lessons, we will learn to increase the attentiveness of our hearing and gain firmness of tone (primarily by means of this very constantly attentive, governing hearing). As we advance, we will gradually gain knowledge of the instrument (your body) by means of easy exercises. The tools are very simple and very few. The center of the process is the effort of your attentiveness and your imagination.
I specialize in opera, but have helped singers from every walk of the art. Singer-songwriter students have been greatly supported by my composition background.
We typically start by those difficulties that most concern you about your singing. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

About Andrea
To the potential interested student/parent:

Teaching is for me a rewarding and pleasant endeavor. I am committed to the cause of music, and to the timeless fellowship of the human spirit!

I play piano or guitar when accompanying my students. Please bring your songs!

Whether you want to prepare yourself for college auditions, sing better at your choir or church, or just enjoy the fun nd health benefits of singing, I can help you. With almost 15 years of teaching experience, I have come to watch many of my students go on to college and graduate school successfully. Most of them under full tuition scholarships. I am a classically trained singer myself and the approach to my lessons are over all focused on healthy emission of the voice with emphasis on breath suport and appropriate placement according to the style you want to perform: classical, musical theatre, jazz or any contemporary genre. I will help you reach your goals with vocal exercises and weekly routines designed specific for your needs. All you need is desire to learn and enjoy!

About Daniela
I hold a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance and a Masters in Vocal Performance and Voice Pedagogy. Singing and teaching are my two passions! I am a classically trained singer with an operatic lyric soprano voice. Opera is my first love, but I also like and enjoy singing musical theatre, jazz and other contemporary genres. In fact, for quite a while I taught at a Berklee International Network School in South America, where jazz was the main emphasis of my students. I enjoy teaching students from mostly any age and any background. From beginners to more advanced singers, as they all present some form of challenge and different rewarding experiences.

Coincidentally, I have come to teach mostly teenagers and young adults, sort of specializing in college audition preparation where %100 of my students who have applied to attend music schoo
l have successfully been accepted. Most of them under full tuition scholarships to pursue singing careers. Some of them are currently attending the University of Denver, CU Boulder, University of the Redlands, University of British Columbia, Universitat Mozarteum (Salzburg). I also have experience teaching senior citizens from a community choir and members from an all visually impaired choir. I have never encountered any difficulty while teaching students with special needs. This experiences have actually made me become a better more creative educator.

My lessons are focused on healthy emission of the voice working on breath support and adequate placement of the voice according to the style. Once we have gone through a diagnostic and discuss the student´s goals, I prepare a routine of vocal exercises tailored for the individual needs and skill level of the student as well as negotiate on the repertoire that the student wants to sing.

If teaching in the student´s home, I expect for the student to have at least a basic music keyboard for pitch matching purposes. I also expect my students to practice in between lessons so that every time we meet we can add another layer of knowledge. This will bring gratification and fulfillment to both of us!

Dani is a really special instructor for me! She helped me realize how big my passion for singing was because, since the beginning, she has inspired me with her singing, passion, and knowledge. She was my teacher for 4 years and she prepared me to get into CU Boulder’s School of Music. With her guidance I improved not only my vocal technique, but my musicality, acting skills, languages, and every single aspect that a singer needs to be a professional artist. She was really specific and patient about my growth as an opera singer and she always helped me find the perfect repertoire for me. I can say that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her. Dani saw the best in me even when I didn’t, and I am still learning a lot from her.

Daniela has been my favorite vocal trainer so far. Besides her expirience and knowledge about the voice, she took time to really listen to my voice and identify things I was doing wrong, or things I did not even know how to do. She empowered me so much that now I actually use my whole body to sing, and I also feel more confident to do challenging things, with my voice, with no harm. I feel that there is a before and after, in my voice, thanks to Daniela as my teacher.

All levels of singers will learn proper breathing and technique.

About Adriane
For as long as I can remember, music has played a large part in my life. By the age ten, I already knew that music would be more than just a hobby for me, it would become my career. I have been singing for over 20 years, and began playing piano when I was eight years old. I received a BS in music industry studies with an emphasis on business, from the University of Colorado Denver in 2008. I have extensive experience in performance and the music industry as a business, and have had the pleasure of experiencing the local music scene first hand while playing in bands. My years of experience enables my students to learn different aspects of music from the fundamentals, to writing, and even the music industry as a business. Students should expect to quickly grasp the basic skills such as proper breathing and posture, and will start singing or
playing right away. I truly enjoy sharing my love of music and the industry with my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
Music lessons should be fun but educational. I want to know what your goals are and what you would like to get out of your lessons. Each lesson will be tailored to your specific goals and situation, so that you can get the most out of our time together. Whether music is a hobby, a career path, or something in between, you can expect to learn what interests you most. We can focus strictly on your instrument, or even go beyond and talk about song writing, or the music industry.

Whether you have stage aspirations or are simply interested in learning more about singing, voice lessons can be a great way to build confidence and grow in your sense of self. We'll work together to develop a language and tool box that will enable you to reach your fullest potential as a singer.

About Laura
Laura is a singer and voice teacher passionately committed to authentic artistry. She believes that everyone has a unique and authentic voice, and as a teacher she strives to uncover this within each of her students. She combines her knowledge of the physiology of the voice and her background in performance with her perspective as a yoga practitioner/teacher to create an approach to singing that is accessible to everyone.

Laura holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy and Performance from the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College. After spending 10 years directing choirs in various churches, performing, and teaching voice and piano privately, Laura decided to commit herself to a full time teaching career in 2013. She returned to her home state of Color
ado in July of 2018 and is excited to offer her unique teaching style to the musical community of Denver.

I had no prior vocal or musical training of any kind--I can't read music--when I began voice lessons with Laura. All I had was a passion since childhood that I finally got the nerve up to pursue. The lessons were a wonderful experience from the very beginning. Voice may be the most challenging instrument to learn, because the teacher can't "play the instrument" to demonstrate technique. Laura has a remarkable talent for communicating vocal techniques and concepts with inventive and vivid visualizations that helped me understand the relationship between my body, my voice, and the sound I produce. I loved the music of Gabriel Faure, but never imagined I could sing it. Laura had all the confidence that I could, and we jumped right in. Faure's beautiful art songs, as well as others by Reynaldo Hahn and Ernest Chasson that Laura introduced me to, are now a part of me. I learned so much in the two years we worked together before Laura returned to her hometown of Denver, and miss her terribly!

My 13 year-old daughter had taken voice lessons from Ms. Laura in Maryland for two years. I have to say my daughter was so lucky to have Ms. Laura as her first voice teacher! When my daughter started to show interest in singing in 2016, she knew very little about singing. Ms. Laura was very knowledgeable, personal and supportive. Ms. Laura taught my daughter about vocal anatomy, how to improve her voice presentation and how to avoid possibility of voice loss, inflammation from overuse or misuse. After several months, my daughter made very impressive progress on her voice range and presentation. It was such a treat when I listened to my daughter practicing singing at home. She was getting better and better every day. I was so proud of my daughter. At the same time, I really appreciate Ms. Laura being such a wonderful teacher. Ms. Laura is very personal. She tried to know my daughter as a teacher and as a friend. Based on each student's personality and strength, Ms. Laura chose music that helps each student to grow, but also focus on what needs to be worked on. Ms. Laura was very flexible when we needed to reschedule lessons. We sure miss her!!

I sing and teach all styles of singing, and I believe that good vocal technique will prepare you for anything. Taking voice lessons is a great way to become more confident, to impress your friends at karaoke, or to prepare to make your living as a musician. I will help you discover your voice and prepare you to sing well in any situation.

I don't sing metal or scream myself, but I'm definitely willing to help you learn how to sing that way as healthily as possible.

About Tony
I studied Voice Performance at the University of Denver, earning my Bachelors of Music in 2011. I've been teaching voice, piano, composition, song writing, and music theory for 8 years to students of all ages. Teaching is one of my greatest joys as a professional musician, and I hope to share that joy with you!

I focus on three principles in every lesson I teach: be aware, be creative, and be efficient. As awareness increases, seemingly contradictory ideas become complimentary; as creativity develops, we laugh and smile on the journey towards musical fluency; when we think and practice efficiently, we realize we're capable of far more than we thought.
