Coming from a musical family I started piano at a young age. Continuing my studies in college, I was blessed with some fine instruction in both performance and the art of teaching both adults and students. Piano/Keyboard puts into practice all that is leaned in classroom. I strive to make all music encounters and lessons as enjoyable and enriching as possible, with a special emphasis on what the student is enjoying and wanting to learn.
About Ronald
Coming form a musical family, I cannot remember when music was not a part of my life. Both my parents were musicians, my father an instrumentalist and arranger and my mother a fine pianist. From the age of seven they encouraged and assisted my music education any way they could. Music came first

With nearly 25 years of playing the piano as a student, solo artist, and accompanist I bring this experience with me to every lesson to make all lessons equally informative and fun. Piano lessons are always goal oriented and will include learning proper technique, general music theory including how to read notes and rhythms, music terminology, and it will be paced based on the student's level. I started taking lessons with Candida since March this year. With some background in guitar (mostly self-taught, mixed with learning from different teachers on and off), I wanted to create a more solid music foundation. I wanted not just to play guitar by following videos and tabs, but become a “musician”, that can improvise, play by ear, compose my own pieces eventually. My goals included learning how to read sheet music, training for a better ear, basic singing and piano skills. Candida created a personalized learning plan with all the above goals in mind, gave me homework each week that was catered to my strengths and interests. Her vast knowledge in music education also allowed me to learn tactics backed by research to accelerate my memory and overall learning. We focused on the following topics this year: For singing, correct placement of head voice and chest voice; practices to soften head voice in higher notes and gain a smoother transition. Ear train that focused on singing (not just listening) melodic and harmonic chords (triads and different extensions). Sheet music reading and playing for several classical pieces (Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky). Basic chords voicing, cadences, inversions, and accompanying singing for some classic songs (Elton John, Cold Play for example). I was amazed at how much progress I made in just 9 months. I am able to sing confidently several songs I loved (including Bohemian Rhapsody) while accompanying myself on piano (I had only touched piano probably only 3 times before March). I also added couple of classical piano pieces into my repertoire (including a beautiful Waltz by Chopin that dumbfounded my friends). I can “hear” melodies better and locate notes with much ease. Candida also encourages her students to show their progress and perform, and I even participated in two student recitals this year, and was quite proud of the performances. I can't recommend Candida enough!

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

We have been taking lessons with Lydia for about 8 years total now. My daughter took piano lessons for 5 years and my son for 4 years. Both kids started at about kindergarten age. Lydia also gave piano and harp lessons to my wife for about 2 years.
Lydia is very patient and flexible. For example, she is willing to let my son explore songs on the piano that he is interested in, even though these arenât necessarily part of her original lesson plan. Also, Lydia uses the piano dollar approach, which really helps to motivate the kids to work hard.
We highly recommend Lydia for piano and harp lessons for kids of all ages and adults!"

Once you've memorized the notes on the piano, it's time to put them together to create piano chords! Here, Augustine, FL piano teacher Heather L. reviews the eight chords to master first... Except for most minimalist or avant-garde of styles, every musical genre is based on chords. From Mozart's piano concertos to the Beatles' hits, chords are foundational. Memorizing them is essential to songwriting, reading new music, and understanding the theory beyond the basics of piano. The fa …
