I'll have you playing something on the ukulele in the first lesson. But seriously, I studied music theory in college and have been playing something for over 45 years. I take the fundamentals seriously, but try to teach you to play anything on the ukulele. Hopefully without having to refer to and carry music with you when you play. AloHa!

The Ukulele is an excellent instrument especially for younger children that would like to get into music. A lot of chords only require one or two fingers to learn and a person can usually start playing their favorite songs in only one or two lessons.

About Karney

I believe the key to the success of the student is that they enjoy what they are doing and gain confidence through the skills they have worked hard to develop. Several of my students have auditioned for and were accepted as the sole guitar seat in the junior high, high school, and college jazz b

I like to make learning an instrument fun and easy to fit into your schedule!

If you're an adult finally getting around to learning your dream instrument or a child following your passion of playing music I tailor your lessons specifically to you. We look at what you want to play, pick specific songs that you want to learn, and learn the techniques you need to play these songs. It sounds simple, but it's so effective and much more fun to learn this way!

This brief lesson was helpful, especially since its my first time learning. I learned a few chords and now have some homework to do. Very personable and straightforward! I just moved back to Dallas and needing some instructions to finally get started.

"My son is a BEGINNER beginner. Rodrigo is a very nice guy and seems to know his stuff very well. I would give him 5 stars but I don't think he realized that my son needed the basic, basic 1st lesson (i.e. how to hold the instrument). We've only attended one session so this is fully based on that one lesson. I'm sure he'll adjust his teaching from here on out."
