I have teaching students how to sing musical theater for 5 years. I teach how to add character to your singing and how to act out your songs fluently, how to enunciate, and of course how to sing correctly!

About Ellen

As Abbe' Dimnet once said, "Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves." I aim to teach my students how to sing through kinesthesia. This allows them to internalize what they are doing in the studio so they can practice it at home and be more successful. P

Ellen is excellent! She has listened to our daughter and helped her to learn several songs on the violin which is what she wanted. She is actually practicing almost daily! Ellen plays alongside her so she can get a feel for the notes and how they sound. I like the way she teaches. She encourages and praises our daughter all the time.

I emphasize developing a strong foundation in technique and ear training that will carry over to any musical genre, from classic rock, heavy metal, jazz, folk, or your favorite radio hits from today. I am dedicated to unlocking every student's musical potential, at any age or experience level, whether the student is just beginning to explore the keyboard or is preparing for an important audition. But more than experience and insight, I teach students to use music as a vehicle for creativity and expression, and develop a sense of true musicianship that goes beyond playing all the correct notes and the right time.
My home studio is equipped with amps, sheet music, instructional books, and music stands.

About Lilia

Hello, my name is Lilia! I have over a decade experience in teaching and offer private lessons in guitar, piano, and voice with a balance between theory, technique, and and ear training to help you play the songs you love to listen to. I created my own lesson book for guitar and am currently wo

She came prepared and was accommodating. Lilia showed patience with my son with autism, which I appreciated and was relieved to see. She also has great pedagogical knowledge of how to instruct a child in piano.

She does "unclean" vocals in her band, Karkaza but is super knowledgeable on regular singing. After only a couple months, I'm beginning to see some progress despite my years singing improperly.

"John is a fantastic piano teacher! In typical fashion, I was classically trained for many years as a child, dropped piano for ~30 years, and then re-started at around 40, again with a classical instructor. After a year or so I began working with John, who was a real breath of fresh air. First the first time in my life I began to truly understand the instrument, music theory, and composition; all while having a lot more fun. We've worked on a wide variety of music - pop, classical, blues, etc. - great for me as I get bored easily. John is incredibly patient - I am no great talent and often have weeks where I barely practice, but he takes it completely in stride. In addition to being a great instructor, John is an incredibly talented pianist in his own right - sort of like taking golf lessons from Phil Mickelson. He has also worked with two of my daughters, who prefer him to any other instructors they've had."

Position, bow handling, and sound production, are all very important to getting back into the routine of playing and Amy gave me a well explained, approachable, and thorough set of lessons, that I refer to often ."

5 Bad Habits That Are Wrecking Your Vocal Cords

Just like great sports players have to prepare their bodies and minds, truly mastering your instrument requires efficient warm-ups, practice and passion. Let one little bad habit slip into your routine, and you might end up in trouble. Particularly as you grow older, bad habits can set your progress back before you even notice it. And for singers, repeating those tendencies may even leave you with permanent vocal cord da …
