About Amber
Growing up in Denver, I had a huge desire for singing and performing. By age 14, I was taking weekly singing & piano lessons, was acting constantly in local productions-many times getting the lead role.
Some of the productions I acted in: The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Camelot, Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), How to Succeed in Business (Smitty), Carousel, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, and Oliver (Nancy.)
I received a 4-year scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA. at the University of the Pacific. Upon graduation, I entered graduate school at the University of North Texas to continue my singing and piano studies, along with music theory, history, and musical video production.
Upon graduating UNT, I was chosen among 200 performing arts majors to be the featured soloist at the UNT commencement ceremonies. This led to an off
er to tour Italy with the Rome Festival Orchestra. For the next two summers I performed in Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome and Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic.

I truly enjoy teaching. I've taught in the public school classroom for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about something, then we need to change something.

I would love to start lessons with you soon.

About Melody
Melody Tai is an accomplished harpist, dancer, and pianist who has performed throughout the United States and Europe.

She has been on stage since the age of four and has performed on some of the world’s largest stages including center stage at the 2015 Grammy Awards with Stevie Wonder and Usher. Melody loves performing in high pressure situations whether it’s in an orchestral, a pop/rock environment, a professional chamber group, or it’s for a solo recital or competition.

Aside from performing, Melody also loves teaching and sharing her artistic crafts. She has been teaching for five years through multiple studios in Southern California, Northern California, and New York City. As a teacher, she prides herself in training the technical and and historical aspects of her art forms to make sure students develop appropriate technique to
avoid injury both immediate and long term. At the same time, she promotes a fun environment and learning experience for even the most difficult students. She focuses on beginning- intermediate levels, but has experience training all ages from beginners to coaching for international competitions.

Melody received her musical training from Alexandra Perdew, Mei Lau, Daniel Alfred Wachs, and The Little Dance World company and school. She completed all of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music levels in piano and holds a Royal Academy of Dance certificate with Distinction at the Advanced Vocational Level. In addition, she has won and been a finalist at many competitions in the above fields, including the 2016 Grandjany Memorial Competition, Lily Laskine International Junior Prix, AHS and ASTA regional competitions, and Beverly Hills ACT-SO, as well as being a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 47 and the American Harp Society.

In addition to being an artist, Melody is also currently completing a degree in Sustainable Development at Columbia University in the City of New York. She tutors in academic subjects as well including ACT Test Prep, High School Math and Literature, and ESL Reading.

Melody was an incredibly kind and patient teacher. There were multiple times when I couldn't understand the material right away, but she would work with me until I was comfortable with it. She was really understanding with my struggles in math. I would highly recommend her as an instructor.

Melody is as lovely as she is talented. Not only does she understand the harp inside and out, but her playing is like nothing I've ever heard. While she can of course play classic tunes, she is also innovative with the harp, tackling some of today's most popular hits. Most importantly, however, Melody is patient. While the harp is her first passion and she is well beyond her years, she is not only willing, but eager to share her talent with others. It has been a pleasure learning from someone who has in time become a friend. I would recommend Melody to any and everyone with the slightest passion for harp. While it is a joy learning from her, the greatest treat is hearing her play. Thanks for everything Mels!

I started teaching 3D modeling and 3D printing classes last year in Colorado. I love it! I also began teaching electronic-textiles and Arduinos to students. If you are curious, just send me a message and we can talk.
My students custom design and 3D print fidget spinners, hinges, fitted rings, robots, casing for a pulse monitor. Look at the photos of some of my students and their work!

I teach a blend of artistry and engineering, and I always let the student lead. I want artist engineering to be about beauty, joy, and creativity. I encourage this practice in the relationships I build with my students.
I have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, 2002. Using my degree, I worked in the field of commercial building design. I also worked as a singer, mask and puppeteer, radio and video do
cumentary producer, video production teacher, AmeriCorp member, and other interesting fields. I use what I have experienced in my life journey to connect with others on their own journey.

About Ulyana
My name is Ulyana and I'm passionate about teaching and tutoring! I graduated with a B.S. from Rice University (Houston, TX), specializing in earth sciences. During my years there, I traveled quite a bit - including to Antarctica! - and took part in many science outreach activities with young students. While doing a Masters in planetary geoscience at Brown University (Providence, RI), I gained field experience in Iceland and used it as a research analog to past climate conditions on Mars. For my PhD, I trekked over 1500 miles in Nepal, studying glacial lake flooding hazards to Sherpa villages, as well as impacts of pollution on pristine high mountains, including Mt. Everest.

For seven years now, I have either tutored or taught, in classrooms and in the field, all age groups, sharing the joy of science, math - and learning in general! Mos
t recently I worked for National Geographic Student Expeditions, a program for high school students interested in learning photography, film, and field (outdoor) science. During the springtime, I am a visiting professor at Colorado College, teaching at the undergraduate level. My day job includes running my company, Science in the Wild, which gets kids and adults alike outside, learning and doing science around the world while on expedition. Our most recent was to the top of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.

When I was in my teens, I participated in many science fairs and symposia at the national and international level. Then I went to college and grad school in science. Pretty much, science has been my life! For any of your science needs, with a special focus on astronomy and geology (earth sciences), I'm here to help. I can also assist with physics, biology and chemistry. The sciences are interrelated and I've used them all in the past and in my current work. The same goes for math.

If you're interested in creative lessons - with a true focus on your learning experience, I'm your tutor! Often times when working out in the field in extreme locations (e.g., Antarctica and Mt. Everest), I have to MacGyver solutions on the fly. I want to teach you how to think. This skill will serve you well, long into the future.

Professional Writer.

My name is Rachael, and I look forward to the opportunity of teaching you writing, whether it is for an academic or creative purpose. My background is philosophy of language; I am a doctoral student of philosophy with an attention to poetics, with one published book and two graduate theses, both having received awards of distinction, under my belt -- if you are looking to improve your reading, critical thinking, and/or writing skills, I am an experienced teacher/tutor/guide/mentor (with 10+ years experience) potentially fit for you!

Depending on your needs, a session can range from grammatical analysis (essentially proofreading services) to an in-depth exploration of your works in-progress, with suggestions for editing or inspiration for further avenues of tweaking or research. There is little I would not be op
en to discussing together, so feel free to reach out!

In terms of high school students, I teach what is relevant to your classes while maintaining an awareness of those skills required in college, attempting to incorporate such skills simultaneously. Regarding undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students, beyond working in in-house writing centers, I have been both a TA / teacher's assistant at universities from Florida, North Carolina, all the way to international Switzerland, in addition to teaching my own experimental system of reading and writing at academic residencies and workshops. I never introduce my own theories unless it is specifically requested, but this goes to show I am experienced at thinking in-depth about diverse problems in the field of language. I am a proponent of creative solutions to problems and look forward to working with you.

Rachael is a great teacher of writing. I had finished schooling years ago but had still a passion for communication. I came to her with many vague ideas that she helped me to develop. She helped me to clarify them even more once I made the step to putting them into writing. She is generous in her manner and all of her commentary. I've really reached a high point in my intellectual and creative life working with her. Highly recommended!!
