I craft a unique blend of traditional, technical and modern instruction. I also encourage my students to compose, arrange and record their own music using composition and scoring software such as Musescore. I tailor their repertoire toward their own needs and tastes, while endeavoring to broaden their (and my!) exposure to all genre of piano literature. Above all, I am a firm believer that piano instruction should (no, MUST!) be fun, yet disciplined. I take an interest in all aspects of my student's lives, and endeavor as much as possible to connect personally with student and family.
Like many of you, I began formal piano training at the age of 6. That was 60 years ago, and so I have played just about every style of music in the books (including Mario Bros. and Star Wars Theme!). For some of you, I have been playing since your grandparents were kids like you, and for others,

I have a deep passion for the bass, in all its musical contexts. I've been a student myself for 18 years and counting, and I look forward to every opportunity to impart what I've learned to others. As a professional performer, I know what's required of bassists - I make it a priority to prepare my students accordingly, and ensure they have a well-rounded understanding of the instrument and music as a whole.
I'm a professional jazz bassist, freelancing in and around the New York City area for the past 4 years. Since graduating from SUNY Purchase, my bass has taken me from West Village basement clubs to the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival and everywhere in between! My teaching style reflects my

These individual ukulele notes are also necessary for learning how to play licks or riffs. In this article, we'll discuss different ways to tune …
