***Lessons begin the week of August 28th, 2017***

I teach piano lessons, from beginners to intermediate students. I typically book 30 minute time slots, although longer ones are available if requested. I have about 20 years of piano experience and I have either performed recitals or played accompaniment quite often throughout that time. I have taught lessons off and on throughout my time as a school teacher.

I love teaching, and I love music! If you want to improve your educational performance, you've come to the right place!

I've also just recently begun teaching online lessons as an English tutor. I've taught English grammar in a regular classroom setting, and I've also tutored one-on-one. Lessons with me are only one click away! :)

*** Lesson Details ***
Come to your lessons prepared to be busy! I do not believe
in wasting time, so lessons will start and end as promptly as possible. All students must have a willing and enthusiastic attitude! :)

Bethany had her 7 month baby next to her and the baby got fussy and it was distracting. She said that her husband was usually home by that time but he wasn't there today. I won't be happy if this happens again. I would even be willing to come later to avoid this perhaps 5:00:-6:00 pm ?
The lesson was only 40 minutes instead of the hour but hopefully because it was the first lesson.

Bethany started teaching our seven year old daughter piano lessons in our home several months ago. She is an excellent piano teacher! Bethany always comes to our house on time and she is very organized and well prepared when it comes to the lesson plan/homework materials. Most important, our daughter has learned a lot over the last several months and she really enjoys her 30 minute lesson(s) with Bethany. I would highly recommend Bethany for a teacher!

While growing up in a family of musicians, I began teaching a lady in her 40's when I was just twelve years old and have been teaching all ages ever since! Even though I began playing piano at the age of 5, I grew to love music more by the age of 10. I have had much experience in piano performance. About the age of 12, I began playing for my church in Louisiana for our congregational worship songs and also for my church choirs . In college I toured as a pianist for 2 years and also accompanied a 500 voice choir during that time. I am currently honored to be on staff as the main church pianist at Castleview Baptist Church in Castle Rock, CO, where my husband is the Music Director and Worship Leader.
I would be so honored to have the opportunity to pass along my musical love to you or your child. My lessons will include technique, theory,
classical, gospel, and more. Hope to hear from you soon!

About Angie
I started playing the piano when I was about 8 years old living in Salt Lake City Utah. My family would be watching TV or doing something else and I would go upstairs and play the piano instead. I practiced until I got to the level to play Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata original composition. I still love to play that one. I also loved to play a piece my grandfather gave me called Cordoba, by Isaac Albeniz. I have played bass and keyboards in an original band giving a good knowledge of musical body language. From there I went on to teaching private and group lessons at Pianos n' Pianos studios. I use a few different method books. When deciding which one to use during a lesson, I assess the age of the student and what they can absorb. I started supplementing their lessons by using a write-it-out method, where students can take a few lines f
rom a song they like and combine it with other songs. That way they can “compose” and be more invested in the music we are playing.
If you play a wrong note, I tell my students to just keep going and to not lose concentration. Wrong notes happen sometimes. If you make a wrong note in a performance, you can’t stop, you just have to roll with it and keep going.
I also encourage singing with the piano that helps learns pitches and notes!
When teaching young children, I make sure to give them variety and plan lessons only about 30 minutes long. For adult learner, it is very good to play piano to keep the mind active and sharp. So really any age, 6 and up, is a good age!
