About Ali
Ali has had music in her life since she was in the crib. She has performed professionally in the musical theatre world and she has studied in several universities for Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, Blues, and R&B. Since the age of sixteen, she has been selected to sing as a guest soloist for venues such as Spivey Hall, Georgia World Congress Center, and Georgia Tech Hotel Conference Center. Ali has also sung for many movies and recordings, and recently recorded a demo for David Foster, Barbra Streisand, and Andrea Bocelli and recently toured as a pianist for "The Women of Ireland." She is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music and earned her BM in Music Business and Vocal Performance cum laude studying under Magi Scott, Jeff Ramsey, Jerome Kyles, and Carolyn Escoffrey, Donna McElroy, Livingston Taylor, Joan Lader, and Charlie Sorrent
o.

Ali is also known for playing piano. She received her minor in Piano Performance within a year at Shorter College under Helen Ramsaur. She has been playing since she was five years old and has accompanied many people and musical productions.

Some of Ali's major influences include:

Linda Eder, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Lena Horne, Judy Garland, Whitney Houston, Billie Holliday, and Lara Fabian, Barbra Streisand

*** Lesson Details ***
Ali loves to share her passion of music to the world and especially through her students. She loves to share new ideas and nuances along with the basics and fundamentals of technique. Although practice can be boring for the student, asking a student to pick at least one song to work on can help the student and the teacher have fun and learn at the same time. After a few months, not only will her students have fun, but they will learn how to be a better person and musician.

Veroslav is a tremendously patient expert piano instrument for my two children, ages 6 and 12. He has a gentle way of guiding kids who may feel shy. I’m just blown away by my children’s progress in piano skills in just a couple of months, but also see how much their self-confidence has grown through doing well at something completely new! Absolutely recommend Veroslav, and we feel so lucky to have been connected to with him!

One of my favorite instruments to teach-- I often say that my specialty is convincing people that they should play double reed instruments! Generally seen as more of a challenge, double reeds like the oboe can be frustrating for beginners, but don't worry-- I can guide you through any troubles and help you learn this beautiful instrument.

About Cory
I am a classically trained bassoonist with a Master's degree from London's Royal College of Music. I love finding each student's own learning style to tailor the experience, and I encourage my students to make their own decisions about musical expression (with plenty of guidance, of course!).

In my work as a performer I have played with orchestras all over the world, from the South London Sinfonia to the Bombay Chamber Orchestra. My musical life is full of variety, and I think that the experiences I've had as a musician make me a creative and thoughtful teacher.

*** Lesson Details ***
I wouldn't call myself strict, but I do have high standards. I expect my students to put in the work at home, so that we can get the most out of lesson time, but I think that my expectations are realistic. After all, we all have busy lives, and even
if you haven't had time to prepare we can always have a productive lesson.

We will learn simple tunes in the very first lesson, and I will always balance technical exercises with fun. (Though I do think a lot of exercises are fun too!) After a few months we will have a solid foundation of music theory and will have developed your music reading abilities considerably. We will have worked on a great technical foundation of scales and exercises, so that your fingers won't fail you. We will also be delving in to longer and more complex tunes, and considering the possibility of some form of casual public or in-home performance, for you to show your family and friends what you've learned!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect students to have their own instruments and music.

About Bonnie
Bonnie started piano at age 4, clarinet by third grade, and oboe in the 8th grade. In High School, she played oboe, bagpipes, and saxophone in the jazz band winning the Best Jazz Soloist Award. She also won the Young Artist Competition and played with the Tampa Symphony. While attending USF, she continued to perform with the Tampa Symphony and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then attended the University of Michigan and received her Master of Music degree and performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and many chamber groups in the area.

Now in the Orlando area, she is a freelance musician and has performed at Universal, The Museum of Art, The Winter Park Art Festival, and many mor

In 2012, she created a piano curriculum that uses animals to teach note reading and piano. Creating this curriculum makes learning music FUN!

All along the way, she was teaching private music students, Kindermusik and also Homeschooling her three children for 10 years.
Using several curriculum for phonics, and reading, while Homeschooling, is why she is offering this service through Take Lessons.

Hello!

I have my Bachelor's degree in Music from Rhode Island College, where I studied oboe and bassoon. I can make and adjust reeds, to best help my students produce a sound that they are happy with. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree at Longy School of Music, in Boston.

Lessons can be as relaxed or fast-paced as they need to be, I take a very individualized approach to meet the needs of each student's abilities. I love to give my students choices in their musical path- making music should be fun and enjoyable! Despite that, we still get to business when we have to.

Let's make some music together!

About Alyssa
Hi there, I'm so glad you're here!

I am a supportive and encouraging teacher willing to teach all ages and abilities. It is my firm belief that music is for everyone!

I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching at Rhode Island College. I studied Oboe Performance at Longy School of Music for a year before decidingto pursue education further (I love teaching too much!.) I completed my undergraduate work at Rhode Island College, where I studied oboe and bassoon privately. I am currently on the private lesson roster for two public schools in the area, and teach both double-reeded instruments. I have successfully helped young students prepare for and audition into district and all state level ensembles.

I have reed-making experience and can assist students with finicky reeds, to help ease the most frustrating part about pl
aying oboe & bassoon.

I'm looking forward to working with you!

This was my boys first lesson and they loved it. They were so excited after class. Telling me that it felt way to short and that they are eager to have more lessons with Alyssa.
I’m also very pleased as she is a warm and welcoming person and I had an easy time communicating with her about what exactly I am looking for, our schedule, and also difficulties with entering our first lesson.

The boys will definitely, and with joy, continue their music journey with Alyssa.

Oboe lessons for any level.

About Annette
I am a musician who loves to have fun! Music lessons should never be boring or super strict! I encourage my students to learn while being compassionate and energized.

I currently am a music director at a Catholic church where I sing and play the piano, although my music experience is much more extensive. My primary instrument is the oboe (I have a B.M. degree in oboe performance), but I also play and teach the violin, piano and voice.

As well as music directing and teaching, I am a huge theatre nerd! I love musicals especially and my usual role is director or stage manager. I can offer pre-audition lessons to help you prepare for anything you may have coming up : )

I studied music and music therapy in university and have taught beginner to intermediate lessons. I'd love to help you/your child grow in technical and melodic skills that are necessary to become a great musician!

About Danielle
I started playing oboe in the 4th grade, and immediately fell in love with it! After a few years of sounding like a loud duck when I played, my practice really started paying off. Throughout high school I was first chair in all-county and all-state bands and orchestras. At university I kept up my passion for oboe and majored in music therapy. I have been teaching music since 2017 and would love to help you or your child learn everything about playing the oboe and reading music. Whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced, I can help you reach the next level in your classical education!

I love the oboe because it is as rewarding as it is challenging. My approach to the oboe is similar to that of a great opera singer: learning first the emotional context of music, playing with efficiency of body and breath, and singing through the instrument with a strong, vocal sense of line. My students learn to solve problems on the instrument in creative ways that work for the individual, so practicing is fun and growth is tangible. There is nothing more fun than watching a student progress before my eyes. Let's get to work!

About Nicholas
I joined the Colorado Symphony in September 2017, and I have performed with the best orchestras all around the country, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, and have been lucky enough to study with the best oboe pedagogues, including John Ferrillo, Anne Marie Gabriele, Linda Strommen, Richard Dallessio, and Dan Stolper. I have also studied the psychology of education with Robert Duke, PhD, a leader in music pedagogy in America.

In the Denver area I maintain a private studio of both young students and adult amateurs, and I work with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra as a sectional coach and audition adjudicator. I preach a school of American oboe playing with an emphasis on producing a sound quality with sweetnes
s and depth, playing with a sophisticated sense of line, and phrasing with conviction and confidence.

I come from a family of musicians and teachers, and it was instilled in me early how important it is to pass on knowledge. I have worked with everyone from very beginners at the Colburn School's "Jumpstart" program to experienced pre-collegiate oboists at the Boston University's Tanglewood Institute, and I can't wait to work with you or your child!
