Learning a musical instrument is a wonderful, exciting, and challenging journey, and I am excited to share it with you! I have over a decade of teaching experience, working with all ages and all levels. In lessons, I address the following foundational principles of flute playing: tone, technique, expression, performance, and practicing skills. I have training in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, a holistic movement-based approach to learning music, and experience teaching flute and musicianship at various music schools and workshops throughout the country. I regularly draw on my extensive performance experience to share insights about practicing and overcoming performance challenges with my students.

About Weronika
Hello! Thanks for visiting!
My name is Weronika. I am passionate about helping you or your child grow and develop on your own unique path as a musician and human being. When I teach, I rely on my extensive performing and teaching experience, as well as pedagogical training in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and teaching artistry. I have worked with all age groups, from beginner to pre-professional. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have or if you would like to get to know me better. My name is pronounced "Veronica" - it's Polish!

As a flutist, teaching artist, and educator, I am dedicated to creating engaging musical experiences that connect us to ourselves and to each other. I am the Flutist and Co-Founder of Marvento Duo, winner of the Brookline Symphony Concerto Competition, and active as a Baroque flutist and new music a
dvocate in various chamber, orchestra, and educational projects. I am the Integrative Education Fellow and Director of Development at Integral Steps in Louisville, Colorado. I teach classes for Integral Steps and flute lessons in my private studio in Boulder, Colorado, and through Skype. Committed to building healthy vibrant arts organizations, I contribute actively to the strategic development of my ensembles and organizations. I have served as Secretary of the Board of Integral Steps, and as interim President of the New England Chapter of the Dalcroze Society of America.

I look forward to getting to know you better!

Weronika is my 13 year-old daughter's flute instructor flute (three months). Mary is a beginner, however, in this short amount of time, she had made significant progress. She is already playing many songs, preparing for a recital and enthusiastically asks Weronika to teach her more.

This is not surprising as Weronika has a kind, friendly, patient, and caring personality that makes my daughter feel very comfortable during their lessons. At the same time, she maintains very high expectations for her students. She frequently asks my daughter questions about music theory or the composer's intentions to get her thinking about what she is doing. She gives my daughter frequent feedback and asks my daughter to share her thoughts on performance goals as well.

Weronika is gifted as a flutist and an amazing teacher. She truly inspires my daughter to do her best. We highly recommend Weronika to other families.

Weronika is a dedicated, fun, creative, and passionate teacher. I can't recommend her enough! I teach cello at a community music school in Massachusetts where she taught musicianship and served as chair of our musicianship department. Under her leadership, the quality of the department improved immensely. Weronika went the extra mile to develop a curriculum for our school to use, and I know my students benefited greatly from her efforts. She is sorely missed here!

Weronika is a skilled educator, a talented musician, and a fun person. I learned much from her as an advanced adult student; however, I could tell from studio recitals that she works well with people of all ages and levels. I liked that Weronika encouraged me to trust my own musical instincts and was open to experimenting and exploring creative options. She fully supported my musical growth and interests and provided helpful feedback. I also liked that she incorporated movement into lessons, which was helpful for practicing rhythm and phrase.

My teaching starts with a good foundation for sound and technique and expands to teach music that is fin and inspiring to each individual student. If the student would like to learn to play jazz, I have a method which will shaves off years of hard work and frustration. All my teaching is geared towards giving the student good basics along with a practical application to today's music scene.

About Rick
I’ve always loved teaching from a young age; finding new ways to break down complex ideas and techniques and making it fun and easy is something that gives me a lot of satisfaction. If you want to play your favorite songs on saxophone, I can save you years of frustration and slow progress.

At the bottom of this page, I have a YouTube video of 3 of my sax students' incredibly fast progress. None of them had ever played saxophone, You can do that too! It’s easy and fun. No boring scales, exercises and dumb tunes. Just a simple, easy way to becoming a great sounding sax player in 1/10th the time. This method has worked for over 1000 students and works 100% of the time if you commit to practice.

I guarantee if you commit to practicing 30 minutes 5 days a week for 4 months and you don't see the success in the video I will give you ALL
of your money back. I have 3 Grammy nominations but the proof of what i can do for you is in this video. Search this title on Youtube:
"Demo of My Sax Students Improvising Progress- 5th lesson to 16th lesson" or just click the video at the bottom of this page.

We are so delighted to have Luther teaching our girls the piano. Our eldest who is 7 has played for a while but we are really seeing a huge impact with his instruction. She is more excited to learn and even goes independently now to practice on her own in the middle of the week, which was really never the case and she really loved her last teacher of two years. After just 3 lessons ( with a gap in between the first two) we can see she has progressed more than she has in 6 months of weekly lessons. The thing that we really love is that he is not just there to make a dollar, and he does not want to waste your money and will give it to you straight! You couldn't ask for more! OUr youngest was so impressed now even she is showing an interest in the piano and she took over the second lesson and now we have gotten the 4 year old started as well. Very satisfied customers already. Looking forward to an awesome year!

I love helping students succeed, and to feel a sense of accomplishment as well as having a good time while playing. I try to make every lesson something exciting to look forward to, leaving them wanting to practice before every lesson, whether it be learning a new piece, improvisations, singing, or any new activities. I consider myself as a guide, not someone that pushes or dictates students. It is my interest to create a positive, kind, genuine, fun, and creative atmosphere during a lesson.

About April
I have picked up and loved the flute for 16 years, and I wish to share this passion and creativity with students. I have had the opportunity to study under Emily McKay and Marco Granados, as well as perform in masterclasses with Trevor Wye, William Bennett, and Lorna Mcghee. As a recent Denver citizen, I wish to grow my roots as a teacher who fosters flute playing as a fun and outside-the-box activity.
I have started teaching private lessons since high school, and into my college and graduate school years. I have taken classes on pedagogy and teaching artistry in creative ways, such as teaching students to do improvisations and asking questions in order to get them engaged in the learning process. I have played classical, jazz, pop, and latin music, and can teach an array of different genres. I believe music contributes to a well-ro
unded individual, and will gladly accept students of all experiences and ages. My goal will to always keep the student engaged and having fun! It is important to play from the heart, and think of music as the spirit of sharing and collaboration.

April is wonderful. She is finding 'hidden' problems with my breathing and use, or at times misuse of my neck muscles and breathing that would be very hard for a lesser teacher to detect and work to correct.
Her ear for pitch/tone and the various 'artifact' background variances in my blowing/breathing structure and ways toward a remedy is amazing.
Any teacher can show a student posture and finger placement, but her teaching techniques go far beyond that.
I am more than pleased with her commitment to excellence.
Thank you April.

While I have degrees in clarinet, I am also an accomplished flutist who has performing experience in several musicals and shows in the Denver area and Western Massachusetts. I have experience starting beginning flute students and helping young flutists develop their skills and musicianship.

About Leslie
Leslie is a Denver based musician—clarinetist and teacher—who performs in solo and collaborative projects across the state while maintaining an active teaching studio. Leslie is in high demand as both a performer and teacher. Recent performances include solo performances is Denver and Stapleton, several chamber performances with her wind trio Enigma and the Lamont Clarinet Choir, and appearances with the Lone Tree Symphony, the San Juan Symphony, Lakewood Symphony, the Denver Pops Orchestra, the Littleton Symphony, the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, and extensive time playing Eb clarinet with the Lamont Wind Ensemble.

After she began playing clarinet with her hands switched, and consequently as the worst clarinetist in her band, Leslie began studying privately and soon discovered a passion for teaching and helping her own students improve
the way her teachers helped her. Leslie is a passionate educator who has spent time on faculty at Mt. Holyoke College and the Eaglebrook School. She currently maintains a private studio in Denver and is an active guest clinician across Colorado.

Leslie studied clarinet at Adams State, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and recently completed a Performance Certificate at the University of Denver. Influential teachers include Dr. Tracy Doyle, Claudia Weir, Michael Sussman, and Dr. Jeremy Reynolds. Leslie loves the color green, otters, Beethoven Symphony Number 7, Mozart operas, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the smell of rosemary, and her rather aggressive, toothless cat.

I base the lessons on what my students want to learn and are interested in. I let my students chose the songs that they want to learn from the books I suggest they purchase. I want my students to have fun while learning to play the flute and learning to read music.

About Rachel
Hi there! My name is Rachel and I am a music teacher looking for students in Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, and Westminster. I also teach online lessons. I teach flute all levels, beginning/intermediate clarinet, and beginning/intermediate piano. I have taught private and group lessons on these instruments for seven years. I also received my Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Redlands in 2005. I have a Professional Colorado Teaching License and I taught elementary general music, band, and choir for nine years.

I teach students of all ages for half hour, 45 minute, and hour lessons. I want my students to enjoy learning their instrument, so I teach them what they want to learn and let them chose songs that they want to play. I believe that music lessons should be fun as well as educational. I create an atmos
phere where making mistakes helps you learn so my students are not afraid to make mistakes. I am very enthusiastic about teaching music and I love it when my students master new skills. I have taught beginning students to read music and become accomplished on their instrument. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your musical goals!

My son began piano lessons with Rachel nearly two years ago and we have been very happy working with her. He has progressed steadily and is continually challenged to improve. My 9-yo daughter has had Rachel as a piano teacher for the past 1.5 years. Rachel has always been professional, punctual, and an excellent communicator when it comes to things like rescheduling lessons. My daughter has advanced in piano quite a bit—I attribute much of that to the music Rachel offers. My daughter has played the themes from Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars (music she knows and is excited to learn!) along with more classical pieces (e.g., Bach). We are very happy with Rachel!

I have been teaching lessons for 12 years, to beginners to conservatory level students. I am a performing musician with a BA in music education and music performance, as well as a MA in Flute performance. I have successfully prepared students for NYSSMA as well as for college music auditions. I teach the foundations like great tone, breath support, articulation, rhythm, note reading, theory, and my favorite, musicality! I cater each lesson to each individual student's needs and goals, and above all, instill a life-long love of music.

About Melanie
As a professional flutist, I've performed with orchestras, and do a lot of chamber music, including new music. I've performed with piano, guitar, harp for both Celtic and classical, cello, woodwind quintet, string quartet, choirs, jazz piano trio, and free improvisation with cello and bass. I graduated from SUNY Fredonia for music performance and music education, and got my Master's degree in flute performance from the Hartt School of music.

My philosophy of teaching: I teach music because it is unique and necessary. Students learn best in a relaxed, nurturing environment. I believe in order to successfully teach, I need to be encouraging, and truly care about the students. My goal is to always have the students improve. To do this, I think students need a well-balanced diet of tone (Moyse De la Senorite can be used), technique (
scales for younger students, Maquarre Daily Exercises or Taffanel and Gaubert Daily Excercises for more advanced students), etudes (Melodious and Progressive Studies), and pieces (I consult the NYSSMA manual for appropriate pieces for the students level). Having taken Alexander Technique, I strongly emphasize posture so that students can use their bodies in the most efficient way. Individualized instruction allows for teachers to cater to the needs of the student, challenging the students without frustrating them. Everyone is unique and learns at different rates, so no two lessons will ever be the same. I teach students how to practice, so that they can progress outside of the 30 min. or hour long lesson. As for performance standards, I have used rubrics for tone, technique, articulation, phrasing, and breathing. Once strengths and weaknesses are assed, I create a plan to help the student improve, which is what students and teachers want to hear.
