While the foundation for all styles of singing is essentially the same, I specialize in teaching contemporary styles (as opposed to classical singing). Contemporary styles such as rock, pop, blues, gospel, country, jazz and Latin have very different styling than classical singing and as such once correct basic vocal technique is established it should be taught very differently than traditional classical singing. I'll help you get power, more range (to be able to sing higher and lower) pitch control (to sing mor ein tune), better tone, more musicality and versatility through a combination of exercises and learning the songs that you love.

About Ricardo
I have been a professional musician and teacher all my adult life. Music is my passion and has always been how I make a living. I teach piano/keyboards, guitar, voice, bass and ukulele. I studied classical piano at SUNY at Buffalo and I initially learned to play guitar and singing on my own. Years later I studied voice and guitar with great professional instructors. I am familiar with different ways of learning music: from very structured and traditional methods (that we use in classical music) to more improvisational and "by ear" approaches as we often do in popular music. This helps me tailor my music teaching specifically to each student based on his/her musical preferences, abilities and learning style. I can teach all styles of music including: Pop, Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, many different Latin styles including Salsa, B
olero and Bossa Nova.
I have performed all over the US and toured many countries including Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Uruguay, England and France. I have recorded more than 100 CDs for many artists (as well as my own original music) as a pianist/keyboardist, singer, guitarist and music producer. I have won many awards including most recently the Best Blues Band award as the pianist, guitarist and singer for the Lionel Young Band at the International Blues Challenge (the largest competition of blues bands in the world).
I have taught music through my whole career. Many of my students have gone on to study music as a career and have become successful professional musicians.
I am very comfortable teaching all levels from professional musicians to very beginners at any age.
I currently lead and perform with my group. We perform concerts, private events and some club work. My life as a professional musician has given me a lot of knowledge to share with my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
I adjust my approach based on what you want to learn, always with an emphasis on learning as much as possible while making the lessons fun and enjoyable. If you are a beginning piano/keyboard or guitar student I can teach you the basics of how to read music and how to play chords in the first few months and then we can decide whether you are interested in playing written music or more improvisational styles. I use different method books depending on the student and sometimes I use just my teaching materials if you are only interested in improvisational styles like Rock or Blues guitar or piano (for example). If you are a voice student, I teach with a combination of learning songs you like and using a CD/MP3s of vocal exercises that help develop good vocal technique. Whatever your instrument and musical preference you can be sure we'll have fun and you'll be making music from the very start!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a Yamaha upright piano and keyboards. I have acoustic and electric guitars, bass and amps. I have Shure Sm-58 mics to teach microphone technique with.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student must have his/her own instrument and metronome (or equivalent) must purchase course book(s) if needed..

*** Specialties ***
I teach different styles depending on the students goals. I can teach a traditional classical style for those interested in classical music and I can teach more practical approaches for popular music such as learning by chords (for instrumental students- not voice obviously) and learning improvisation through scales, arpeggios and music theory.

I have been teaching singing for 4 years and my students vary from amateurs to artists who prepare for auditions and take part in performances. Within the first few lessons, we will learn to increase the attentiveness of our hearing and gain firmness of tone (primarily by means of this very constantly attentive, governing hearing). As we advance, we will gradually gain knowledge of the instrument (your body) by means of easy exercises. The tools are very simple and very few. The center of the process is the effort of your attentiveness and your imagination.
I specialize in opera, but have helped singers from every walk of the art. Singer-songwriter students have been greatly supported by my composition background.
We typically start by those difficulties that most concern you about your singing. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

About Andrea

Offering beginning voice lessons to all ages in all genres and styles.
Lessons are catered to the individual student's goals and learning styles.
Unlike instructors who only use karaoke tracks for accompaniment, I accompany my students on the piano. This allows me to make accompaniment recordings for the students to practice with. I provide warm-ups, melody tracks and full piano accompaniment tracks (at appropriate tempos). This is very beneficial for students when practicing as the accompaniment recordings can "grow" with their skill level on each song. It also gives the student the flexibility to choose songs that would normally be outside of their vocal range, because we can transpose the song and make recordings in a key that works for them!
I specialize in working with young voices that are still developing and helping students learn the differences between choral singing and solo singing.

About Kit
With 2 degrees in music and more than 8 years of teaching experience, I offer piano and voice lessons to any age and any level! I consider the most important aspect of teaching to be creating an environment where a love of music can be discovered and nurtured. Everyone is offered the opportunity to discover and deepen their love of music. I chose to make music my career so that I can guide you on your priceless journey towards becoming a better musician...a better person.

*** Lesson Details ***
I do not use one set curriculum. Instead, I have familiarized myself with a dozen various curriculum, and choose the best fit for each individual student. I am open to using books you already own as supplemental material and encourage students to share their suggestions in selecting music. Every student has different goals, and I tailor t
he lessons to meet them.
Within the first lesson, we will set short and long term goals and lesson plans will be made to help you achieve them.
I provide accompaniment and melody recordings for vocal students to practice with.
Material will be sent home with you to peruse at your convenience. This will include articles from music dictionaries, archives, journals and more to give you an opportunity to become a well rounded musician.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Upright piano in living room with waiting area for parents so they may sit in on lessons.
Music stand provided for voice lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Some music may be provided by myself and I am also willing to work with certain books the student may already own. There will be at least one book required for purchase. I expect students to have a pencil and notebook at every lesson.
Water is welcome and encouraged for vocal students.

Parking is available on the street directly outside the studio.

*** Specialties ***
Too often I have seen damage caused to the vocal chords from an instructor's lack of knowledge in developing voices. I am proud to offer voice lessons where I specialize in working with young voices that are still maturing!

I provide piano accompaniment for vocal lessons at no additional cost. I also make accompaniment recordings for the students to practice with. This allows me to transpose songs, letting students learn songs that might otherwise be out of their vocal range. It also allows for flexibility in the tempo so students can learn at a slower pace and increase speed as they become more comfortable.

I believe in teaching a well rounded curriculum and therefore introduce my students to the styles of all genres.

About Rachel
Ray Charles once said, "I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me, like food or water."

I believe everyone’s born with a “music part,” but, like our bones and our brains, it needs nutrition and exercise to grow! Born and raised in the Denver metro area, I “grew” mine first through twelve years of private piano instruction, and then by studying voice and music theory at Colorado State University, where I received my Bachelor of Music. I rarely turn down a chance to be involved in anything to do with music; I have sung in multiple university choirs and community theatre productions, I’m a member of an Andrews Sisters tribute trio, and I have played piano and keys for seve
ral bands, including Jordyn’s Arc and a number of church bands. I’ve never met a genre of music I didn’t like, and love to continue to discover new bands, artists, and musicals, often through a recommendation by one of my students. My “music part” has definitely been a major driving force in my life!

I began teaching piano when I was sixteen. I was pretty skeptical when my piano teacher suggested I try it; I wasn’t sure I had the patience or the inclination. Much to my surprise, I loved it! The process of building one-on-one relationships around music with individuals of all ages has consistently been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my life. Though there are many ways to nurture musicality, I firmly believe that music lessons are one of the best tools for exploring a person’s musical abilities and tastes— there are few other places where students are exposed to such a wide range of musical styles and genres, few other environments as safe as a music studio or living room to experiment with and build confidence in voice or instrument skills. I love to watch my students develop and encounter their musical identities, and love to share their excitement when they discover a liking for bluegrass tunes, an affinity for jazz, or a love of performing. No matter what shape that “music part” takes, I love helping students to grow and be proud of it.

*** Lesson Details ***
It is my sincere wish that my students’ lessons be something they look forward to, NOT dread! I make every effort for the lesson atmosphere to be relaxed while still encouraging students to actively engage with the lesson material. While I believe that structure is an important element of music lessons, I also know the importance of flexibility in ensuring that the student feels like a participant in his or her studies. For example, note-reading, music theory, and technical/ear-training skills are always a part of each student’s lesson, but rather than establish an unbreakable schedule that dictates the itinerary of every lesson, I often let the student decide the order in which we’ll work through each lesson’s agenda. Students typically work out of various lesson books, chosen based on student age, proficiency, and preference. While most of their practice pieces come from these books, I encourage students to explore their own musical tastes and create a personal connection to their lessons by working on at least one song of their own choosing- popular, jazz, Broadway, etc.- as a perpetual part of their lessons.

Between lessons, students are expected to practice what they learned in previous lessons (and more than just once or twice). While I will always do my absolute best to inspire, encourage and motivate my students to practice, the final decision to actually do it or not is theirs. The only real “penalty” for insufficient practice time is the student’s own slower progress and a limit to the extent we can move forward in their lessons. I ask parents of younger students not to force them to practice, but to help them develop the habit of practicing by setting aside a daily practice time and encouraging them to adhere to it. I can’t guarantee that practicing will always be fun, but I can guarantee it will always be worth doing!

Students are invited (not required) to perform in two informal recitals per year with their fellow students. In cases where enough students of the same playing level desire to improve their performance skills, they have the option of attending monthly group lessons in addition to their private lessons. Group lessons provide students with a monthly opportunity to perform to a small group of their peers and offer and receive helpful critiques.

I believe that the two most important things for a student to receive from a teacher are patience and encouragement— if I didn’t believe that I respond to each of my students with these qualities, I would hang up my teaching hat. I try to communicate to my students at all times that I’m passionate about seeing them succeed. I recognize that every student’s goals are different, and I do my best to help them achieve them, whether they just want to learn enough to be able to play or sing their favorite popular songs, or whether they’re looking to develop the skills to pursue opportunities such as school choirs, musical theater productions, or rock and roll stardom

Singing and performing for an audience has been the love of my life. I have performed in all types of venues from small churches to performing Soprano soloist in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with The Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin, Germany.

Whatever you want to accomplish in your singing, I can help you get there, and enjoy the process along the way!~

About Amber
Growing up in Denver, I had a huge desire for singing and performing. By age 14, I was taking weekly singing & piano lessons, was acting constantly in local productions-many times getting the lead role.
Some of the productions I acted in: The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Camelot, Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), How to Succeed in Business (Smitty), Carousel, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, and Oliver (Nancy.)
I received a 4-year scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA. at the University of the Pacific. Upon graduation, I entered graduate school at the University of North Texas to continue my singing and piano studies, along with music theory, history, and musical video production.
Upon graduating UNT, I was chosen among 200 performing arts majors to be the featured soloist at the UNT commencement ceremonies. This led to an off
er to tour Italy with the Rome Festival Orchestra. For the next two summers I performed in Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome and Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic.

I have been teaching voice lessons for 5 years. I teach diction (5 languages), breath control, resonance, tonal quality, intonation, etc.

About Ellen
As Abbe' Dimnet once said, "Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves."

I aim to teach my students how to sing through kinesthesia. This allows them to internalize what they are doing in the studio so they can practice it at home and be more successful. Practicing what they learn in the studio will help them gain good habits, making singing and performing more effortless. One of the hard things about learning how to sing, is learning to use muscles you can not see. This is why kinesthesia is important! It helps the student learn how everything feels, so they can produce free, open, resonant sounds.

I also aim to teach my students artistry! Music can be a powerful influence in our lives and society. It is important for a student to learn to connect with their music so they can be better perfor
mers.

Last, I am a member of NATS. This allows me to continue my education on the voice and gives me new insights from other great teachers and vocal scientists around the nation. By being a member of this association, it also allows me to give my students opportunities to compete in competitions and get feedback from other great teachers.

I grew up in Centennial, Colorado and started playing the violin in 4th grade. I developed an interest in singing in middle school, and started voice lessons when I was 16. I have been singing ever since!

I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in April 2009, with a Bachelor degree in Music Science. I emphasized in vocal instruction.

I am happily married to my husband, Kevin, who is currently studying to be an optometrist.

Students will learn how to manipulate their voices, discover their own style, learn classical vocal training, as well as solfeggio as means for learning scales, arpeggios and improvisation and harmonization. Students should be prepared to bring in some songs they wish to learn to work on. Together we can discover other songs to further build their technique.

About Jennifer
Music is my passion. I have studied music for over 15 years, and have extensive performance experience as well as experience in coaching, choreography, music composition, and acting and I currently perform on a regular basis.

Born in Seattle, WA, I first came to love music when I was given a Casio keyboard at age 6. Since then, I learned viola, and eventually switched to the violin, ultimately to major in violin performance at the University of Idaho, in Moscow, ID where I also studied voice. I earned a place in various orchestras and choirs through extensive auditions and maintained a 4.0 cumulative grade point average at the University of Idaho.

Composition has always been a passion I have pursued on the side which led me to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where I earned my Masters degree in music composition, complete
d in the Spring of 2008. I learned how to write acoustic and electronic music as well as studio recording processes.

I worked for the Walt Disney Company through the College Program after which I became a campus representative on Disney's behalf. My performances with the Disney Company include: 1st Violin for the Encore Cast Choir and Orchestra at E.P.C.O.T. in July 2007 and as Mrs. Armstrong for S.T.A.G.E.'s 2007 Christmas Pageant, performed in E.P.C.O.T. December 13-16 in the Circle of Life Pavilion.

Since my return to Boulder in January 2008 I finished my Masters Degree in Music Composition and taught Ear Training and Theory of Music to Freshmen, and Ear Training to Sophomores at the University of Colorado at Boulder until May 2009.

I became a member of a six-person band, called Indigent Row, in 2008-2011 where I played fiddle and sang lead vocals. We performed throughout Colorado monthly.

I now reside in Denver, Colorado. I joined Buckstein (Modern Country Rock) in March 2015 and perform regularly each month all over Denver and sometimes out of state. We are also the house band for the internationally recognized Grizzly Rose performing 6 nights a week bi-monthly.

I currently teach beginning voice, all levels of violin and viola, sight-reading, theory of music, recording techniques, performance techniques, and song-writing. I am continuing to compose new music and collaborate with others as the opportunity arises. Some of my collaborations have been published and are available online. Please ask for details.

*** Lesson Details ***
Are you excited about learning a new instrument or learning to sing your heart out? Come and learn with me in a comfortable, friendly environment! I am patient and encouraging. I will help you set goals and meet them. And to help motivate you, I will schedule performances along the way so you can show off all of your hard work!

I can teach you violin, viola, voice, music composition, recording techniques and stage techniques! I am trained in numerous styles and can help tailor lessons to your passion.

Lessons will start with the basic building blocks, as any great musician needs to have a strong foundation in the basics. I can teach you how to read music as well as improvise if that is your desire. I feel it is essential to know how to play/sing by sight and will make this a strong focus throughout the initial lessons in addition to technique and posture. I will make sure you learn how to perform and practice without injuring yourself, as certain repetitive motions can cause long-term injuries if you are not practicing with proper posture and technique. My goal for you is to make this a fun journey.

Embrace your musical side and express yourself! Bring a positive attitude to your lessons and get ready to show off your stuff!

For string players, I like to combine Suzuki with traditional Russian style and progressive scales to build the foundation and then progress to the styles of your choosing. For vocalists, I focus on Solfeggio to learn scales and sight-singing techniques and then focus on exercises to build vocal range and control. At all levels of learning I will be sure to assign tunes to work on in addition to scales/exercises so that there will always be something fun to work on in addition to the rudiments.

Remember, this is supposed to be an enjoyable experience! Let me take you on your musical journey and give you the skills to express yourself through music. Choose me as your instructor and I will contact you within 48 hours to schedule your first lesson.

I look forward to seeing you on stage!

-Jennifer

My son's score went up OVER 30%! We cannot praise Bill enough. Not only did he push my son, but he made the material (which is normally quite dull) fun and interesting!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance and Musical Theater. In the spring of 2007, I travelled to New York with one of the many touring singing groups I have been a part of and performed a concert on the stage of Carnegie Hall. I have performed in and directed numerous musical theater productions and currently teach with an after-school arts program in the Denver area. I continue to perform in shows and musical reviews and now teach from my home studio.

About Rachel
Rachel Meredith Vocal Studios has a passion for music and a commitment to excellence. I teach every skill level from beginner to advanced, whether you are looking to fine-tune your pitch or learn proper breathing techniques or needing help with control and placement. My love for music, combined with a love for teaching, is what makes my approach so specialized and a perfect fit for whatever goals you may have!

I assess each student's individual needs and skill level in order to tailor a lesson plan customized for him/her. I set achievable goals in lessons, so the students can feel a sense of accomplishment and growth, which fuels their enthusiasm for music! My goal is to have each student gain the skills needed to become an accomplished vocalist. Specializing in Broadway, classical, and jazz, Rachel Meredith Vocal Studios will help yo
u find your voice one note at a time.

Wonderful, dedicated and fun! She gave me a very challenging piece to learn which we will conquer together! She listens, takes appropriate action and has great timing. And fluffy studio puppies are always welcome, hovering around my feet helping me do warm-up.
