I disagree with whoever is commenting below me. Miss. Maria was having difficulties with the server that day (June 24th/June 25th) so she sent out an e-mail to let us know that and then had it back up and running. The website is totally available now and she replies to lesson scheduling stuff super quick

Miss. Maria is really patient and kind teacher. Lessons with her are very fun and she is also very bubbly. She is also very knowledgeable

I had only one singing class with Maria, and it seemed just fine to me but then she didn't upload as agreed the material I was supposed to practice during the week so when we met again she wanted to give me the same class while we agreed on material to practice to move on... After that I tried to get in touch to change the time of a class and she never got back to me. She seems very busy, can never answer the phone and hardly answers emails, am not feeling am getting any personal attention. Am switching to another more available teacher.

I took 8 years of Spanish classes and lived in Ecuador where I used Spanish on a daily basis.

My teaching philosophy is to help students engage in learning. I find that a personal connection to new information makes it more engaging and meaningful, and students remember it better too. It's also more fun.

That being said, if learning is more readily achieved for your student through other methods, we will do whatever works best. I cater to results, because my ultimate goal is the student's success.

About Joshua
I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree, substitute taught, and didn't become a school teacher. I held professional tech retail jobs and am supplementing my life with my passion - education.

Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I celebrate students' successes; and I enjoy helping learners have new aha moments.

The majority of my students take guitar, bass guitar, or Spanish lessons. I am an educator and help my students learn other skills and knowledge sets too.

I went to Ohio State University for college, earned a BA in Music Education, and graduated Cum Laude. I also spent 4 years in the Ohio State University Marching Band.

Through my healing journey, I've developed patience, insight, and understanding for my students' learning processes.

I'm excited to help you incorporate new skills into your life!

In search of helping our 10 year old son build some self-confidence we sought out clarinet lessons this summer. He started playing in school last year, and it was something our reluctant son liked "enough" to want to build up some competency. Joshua has been amazing! He finds just the right amount of challenge to encourage my son to practice, but not get discouraged. My son looks forward to his lesson each week and told me that he isn't even sure he wants to switch to saxophone next year because he is having so much fun playing the clarinet. Joshua is amazing with children, and has spent time getting to know our kiddo and find out what will work best for him. Patient, calm, and inspiring--very talented instructor.

Joshua Blatman is a fantastic music teacher. He has a great resume, is experienced in a variety of instruments, and a solid background in teaching.
I think any kids lucky enough to learn music from Joshua will have fun and hopefully fall in love with learning it, just like my kids have.

Language learning must be personalized! What are your interests; sports, art, politics, animals, the environment? I will find out what you like and tailor lessons with music, shows, articles, games and conversation that apply to YOUR interests. More intrinsic motivation will help you learn.
I have 6 years experience teaching Spanish levels 1- Honors IV at the high school level, am a trained medical interpreter and taught English for 1 year in Granada, Spain, in addition to living in Germany.
Additionally, I have a BA in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland at College Park and have studied at the graduate level at American University.

About Ashleigh
I'm a former Spanish teacher who has taught taught levels 1-IV for the last 4 years. Prior to that, I lived in Germany as a military spouse where I taught yoga. Before Germany, I taught Spanish for two years at a private boarding school in Raleigh, North Carolina. My first teaching position, however, was in Granada, Spain where I taught English at a rural school near Granada, Spain having won a fellowship after university graduation.
Although my bachelors is in Spanish Language and Literature I am studying TESOL at American University where I have completed 12 credits in language assessment, second language acquisition and linguistics. My classes are engaging and personalized. For my athlete students, I find articles and clips about their sport that we build language around. I do the same for the interests of my other students, ther
eby making their connection to the language personal and intrinsic. In our tutoring sessions, there will be music, video and games! Because I am a teacher, I can help you liaise with your student's teacher in a way that will help us understand how to help your student.

I'm from Ukraine so my native languages are Ukrainian and Russian but I started learning Spanish when I was 9. I studied in Spanish school so I have been learning it for almost 20 years and I keep on learning new things. I've had a lot of practice with people from Spain and Latin America so I can explain you the difference between these languages.

I travelled to Spain some times and I worked in one of Spanish speaking countries in Africa. Also I worked in a Spanish company in Kiev for one year. Now I'm 27 and currently I live in the USA. I use Spanish every day and I continue doing my favorite work - teaching people.

Whether you want to to get an A+ on your next Spanish test, become more comfortable with traveling to foreign Spanish-speaking countries, or just connect with people and art using the second most commonly spoken world language, you've come to
the right place! I have been studying Spanish for the last 7 years of my life, and on top of that am currently working on bachelors degrees in both Anthropology and Linguistics, as well as an associates degree in Spanish and a nationally recognized translator's certification. Let me know if your ready to take the next steps towards fluency!

About Liam
I am currently a college student working on a double major (Anthropology and Linguistics", a minor (Spanish), and a Spanish to English Translators certificate. I am fascinated with language learning and do it daily, it may sound odd but it is actually one of my favorite hobbies (on top of Spanish I have study Turkish, German, and most recently French). My prices are low because I am not in fact a teacher, but I understand all to well what it is to be a student and want to help you with your own language learning journey.

When I began studying Spanish, I was immediately hooked. I wanted to learn as much of the language as possible as quickly as I could. There was just one large obstacle in my way: the classroom setting. Following the rigid curriculum of a classroom is incredibly restricting to a language learner. Just think about it, w
hen you were learning English, did you start with present tense, then move to present progressive, then past tense? Of course not, because that would take too long. Instead, you learned to absorb the bits of language you were exposed to, then try it out without any real fear of making mistakes. You could say things like "I eated" instead of "I ate" in front of your parents only to find them carefully correcting you and letting you on your way. This is an entirely different set up from the typical classroom, where the equivalent mistake in a Spanish class could cost you a good grade. I intend to create the same kind of atmosphere with our lessons. I have lived in Spain and experienced the same thing with my host parents, patiently correcting my every mistake until before I knew it we were conversing fluently. As well I have obviously been in the typical Spanish classroom, where the difference between "la lámpara rota" and "la lámpara rompida" is the difference between passing and failing a test. What they don't tell you is that every native Spanish speaker made the same mistakes you are, just without all the pressure.

If any of this struck a cord with you, do not hesitate to contact me! The hours I have listed may seem small, but in reality my schedule is quite flexible and I'm sure we could find a time that fits your schedule!
