I have been a classroom teacher for 11 years. I got my degree in elementary education. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. I'm best with younger grades. I can help with homework or plan a lesson over any concept you are having trouble with. I like to make learning fun. I have taught math, science, language arts, and social studies.

About Kevin

I truly enjoy teaching. I've taught in the public school classroom for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about something, then we need to change something.

Kevin is a great teacher - he has brought out the drummer in my 2nd grader, and he has been able to do this through Zoom, not even face to face. Highly recommended!
Kristin
Kevin is an enthusiastic and professional teacher! He has built up my son's confidence, and given him opportunities to perform and hone his percussion skills. I highly recommend Kevin!

I was out of town when my 15-year old son had his lesson with Kevin, so I sent a text to my son to find out how it went. "He is the best guitar teacher ever!!" my son replied. I think that says it all.

CHRIS was awesome!!! My first lesson was with a guitar that I’d had for years, he fixed the guitar so that I would have something to practice on, whilst he fixed the guitar he didn’t forget why he was there and went over notes and chords etc, After fixing my guitar we had time to go over the gchord and I pretty much had it as he was walking out the door. I’m very pleased!!!

Chris is a wonderful instructor. I took music recording lessons from him and it was very informative and relaxed.

As more and more schools are closing in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a need for students to continue with their studies. Teaching will be necessary in addition to tutoring. Communication with the classroom teacher to make sure his/her lesson plans are being followed is critical to transition smoothly into and out of this situation.

Because I am a trained and seasoned teacher as well as a tutor, I can do this.

More about me:

I struggled with math as a middle school & high school student so I ”get it”. I know that frustration and fear when stepping into a math class. After getting my college degree in Social Behavior, I went back to school & got my teaching credential in math. I’ve had over 20 years of experience teaching & tutoring math. I not only know my subject, but also how to teach it — a skill not all tutors possess.

About Barbara

Hi! My name is Barbara and I have been teaching math since 1982. I was that student who never understood math when I was in school, but knew I was smart enough. Because of this, I understand the frustration many tutoring students have about math. I earned a teaching credential in math from USC a

"AMAZING! If I were to choose 1 word to describe Maurice's skill, talent & patience it would be AMAZING! My son has struggled academically for years & we have tried many other tutors with no improvement. Maurice came into our lives & my son went from D's & F's to consistently maintaining A's, B's & C's. We couldn't be happier & more proud of all the progress made. Maurice is always welcome in our home & with 2 younger daughters in grade school he'll be part of the family by the time were done with tutoring!"

"Rod has been tutoring my eighth grader for the past month or so, and all I can say is that I wish we had met Rod years ago. My daughter has always struggled with math, and after several sessions with Rod I feel like the struggle was unnecessary. Even before our first session, Rod took the time to discuss exactly what our concerns and goals were and asked the type of questions that indicate a genuine interest in her success. As a former educator myself, I know that a true teacher is one that invests in the student before and after class, and that is precisely what Rod does. Not only does he assign relevant homework in between sessions, he is diligent about inquiring what her class is working on, ensuring he follows the same curriculum. He not only remembers when she has had a mid term but reaches out between sessions to find out the result. In addition to knowing how to make concepts understandable, he provides praise and encouragement, while still having high expectations and moving her steadily forward, her confidence bolstered. Before her midterm, Rod offered to adjust our schedule so that he could meet with her the night before the test. In one month's time Rod was able to prepare my daughter so effectively for her midterm, that she achieved a full grade higher than her previous assessment. If your child needs not only an academically qualified tutor, but a dedicated one, then Rod is the tutor your family needs."

"Julia is a highly knowledgeable, professional and personable teacher. My son has been tutored by her since the age of 4 and is now 13. His MAP and PARCC scores are off the charts and he just received his placements for Stevenson High School with the recommendations for the highest math classes offered to incoming freshmen. Julia taught him to love and be passionate about mathematics. Her primary goal is to make sure that the students learn in a stress-free environment and with that strategy she is able to accomplish brilliant results. I recommend Julia highly. She is very approachable and patient, loves children and loves what she does."
