Heather P. Utica, MI

About Heather

I love teaching, simply love teaching! I teach students of all ages. I teach piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone. I have taught for over 25 years. My students have lots of opportunities for performance, if they choose to. We perform at Nursing Homes, Retirements, Festival of Trees, and Seasonal Recitals. There are at least 2 recitals a year, 1 at Christmas and 1 in the Spring, if enough participation, we often have one in summer with a party afterward. We also participate in the Michigan Music Association competition. I have also had students perform in Disney World in Florida!!! I have been in many musicals such as Annie, Gypsy, Rock Around the Clock. I have put on solo recitals. I am a member of my church choir. My students and I have fun while we are learning music! It ...

JOSEPH H. Clinton Township, MI

About JOSEPH

With my Bachelor's/Master's Degree and 14 years of experience in education, it will be an honor for me to add more to students. *** Lesson Details *** Music study helps people young and old to overcome shyness and build confidence. It empowers them as they refine their special talents. We will study ear training . My Method: Listen, Sing, Clap, Play, Read and Write. With these tools you can look deeper into the elements that make up music. Children don't learn to read before they can talk. So why should anyone have to try to read before they can play? That is how music is taught, traditionally and why a huge percentage of students just quit or have a miserable time with piano lessons. Music should be fun. Period. We will always have a lot of fun, but there is a ...

I have been teaching guitar and piano for many years in the Metro Detroit area. I have played professionally in many local nightclub and wedding bands as well as having toured with Bob Seger as his lead guitarist/writer/vocalist. About Charlene

Over 25 years violin teaching experience. I have successfully taught students ages 3 to adult. Anyone can learn to play the violin. Lessons in a comfortable setting, either my house or yours. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons are taught in my home in a comfortable setting. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons and are expected to help their child practice. I teach the Suzuki Method and the Suzuki book and recording are required. I will change details to suit a student, for instance I teach note reading long before a traditional Suzuki teacher would and I will add non-Suzuki materials into lessons if needed. Elements of the Suzuki Philosophy - every child (or adult) can learn - listening and encouragement are essential - parents are the real teachers, I am the director ...

Excellent violin teacher

Charlene has done a wonderful job with teaching my 6 year old daughter the fundamentals of playing the violin using the Suzuki method. She has not only helped technically, but has also given my daughter the encouragement and patience necessary to develop her confidence with playing. Her high level of experience and passion for playing the violin is very evident. I would highly recommend Charlene to anyone looking to improve their performance with this instrument.

I am Desiree' Grandfather, and I must say in these past couple months, I have witnessed a true piano master instructor at work. Nancy, is very thorough, patient, friendly and non-threatening. She skillfully applies just the right amount of pressure to get the desired results; even the environment is conducive for music. I was just an observer but if I had to rate Nancy, from 1-10 (1 being the lowest), she would receive a Resounding 10.
