Originally from Columbia SC, Steve began music lessons at age 8. He continued with them for ten years then enrolled at The University of South Carolina as a music major. Steve studied piano with Dr. John Williams Emeritus Professor of Music, studied music theory and composition with Dr. Peter Gerschefski and was a member of the Choir led by Dr. Arpad Darazs. All of these great musicians and teachers had a major influence on Steve. After college Steve traveled extensively and playing and performing in Las Vegas Style show bands.Steve moved to Charlotte in 1982 married Debra and began a Family, At that time a neighbor asked Steve to teach his son piano.
