Amely is a great music teacher! She's patient, kind, and teaches very well. She taught me how to play the Venezuelan cuatro (currently learning how to play the violin) and learned a lot. She also knows how to play a lot of other instruments, which I find amazing. She's the best music teacher I've had so far.

Amely is an excellent instructor. She arrives promptly and is always prepared. She remembers where we left off and what work was assigned, often better than I do at times. She has shown such patience and support and kept me upbeat when I have gotten frustrated with myself at my own lack of progress. I continue to move forward and learn from Amely. She works with me and offers great advice. I enjoy seeing her every week. I would recommend her highly for any age range and any level of skill. She is superb.

Amely is a very kind, patient, fun, and knowledgable music instructor. I take ukulele lessons, but she has shown me her talent with other instruments when she is teaching me to play along. I adore Amely! She is great with adults, children, seniors, animals!!

Highly recommended teacher

I am in my mid-30s and picking up Mandolin for the first time without much background in music. Scott has been really great to learn from, teaching me not only the basics of scales and chords but he also has me working on songs and solos which I never thought I'd be able to do so early. I would highly recommend Scott.

Amazing teacher

My son has been taking guitar lessons from Scott for the last year. Scott has been amazing with him. Scott finds music that challenges and teaches my son while keeping his attention. My son loves the lesson each week. He looks forward to it. Scott has become more than a Guitar Teacher he has become a family friend.

While studying the mandolin, you'll learn how to read music in standard notation, tablature form or both. You will also learn how to play various chords, scales rhythmic patterns and improvisation while implementing them into various styles of music including, Bluegrass, Country, Basso Nova. or Blues.

John is a fantastic teacher. After my first lesson I am confident he was the right choice. He made the lesson very fun and enjoyable and we even had a short jam session which was a ton of fun. I would highly recommend him and his teaching style. Looking forward to continuing lesson.

If there was anyway to give John 6 stars I would! John is the best teacher and also a really great guy all around. John is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot from my lessons with him. John is a very patient instructor which helped make the lessons better. I would be remiss not to mention his cool cat Mr. Buttons who would often come down just to listen in on our lessons and even the occasional jam session we would have afterwards. Thank you for all that you do John!

Mandolin has the same tuning as a violin and lends itself to Celtic and Bluegrass music as well as ballads. Mandolin is a great instrument to create music on.

he has helped me to memorize portion of my favorite song while learning a certain strum with accent on 2nd beat and working on it. he has helped me to organize time to learn. shown me strum pattern and how many in between per note while following and artists song. he is helping me to be disciplined not to think about it and do it subconsciously which is wonderful to learn. i am learning a finger pattern. all will take time. when i stumble he picks the same note up with me as i start again and helps me grow thru my difficulties with explanation and repeating over and over with me until i get it. very patient and nice person with good teaching skills.

Mandolin Lessons

The mandolin has a distinct and sustained home in American bluegrass and country music made popular by Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass. This instrument features eight strings and can be played as a rhythm instrument or lead like a violin or guitar. However, it is a while the mandolin is similar to these instruments it is most definitely a different instrument altogether. For example, the approach when playing the mandolin differs from what one would learn with the violin or the guitar. If you want to learn the correct technique in playing the mandolin, we suggest that you consider signing up for our mandolin lessons. Our lessons can help shape your talent in playing this unique-sounding instrument. In addition, through your mandolin lessons you can learn more about its application in today’s music and receive a background in music theory for the mandolin. Your certified mandolin instructor will also teach you the basics including simple mandolin chord formations, how to tune a mandolin, how to pick the right mandolin for you, and how to read mandolin tabs. Intermediate and advanced students can learn mandolin arpeggios as well as other complex mandolin chords and techniques. So if you are looking for a total educational package for your mandolin study, enroll with us today!
