Anne F.

North Fort Myers, FL

About Anne

Watching her aunt perform a piano sonata at a graduation ceremony inspired Anne to learn to play the piano at age seven. After years of lessons, she stopped to pursue other interests, including a degree in Electrical Engineering. But the music never really left her so after what turned out to be a 20-year break, Anne began again in 2002 studying music theory, adding a return to piano performance in 2004.

In April 2008, Anne debuted her own compositions in recital. Several piano students have performed her music as well, both as "teaching pieces" and in recital. Recent compositions include
music for piano students and piano arrangements for Celtic and popular music.

Trained as a classical pianist, Anne's repertoire includes classical, Broadway, Celtic and popular music. She performs regularly in both formal recitals and informal gatherings.

*** Lesson Details ***
It has been said that Beethoven cautioned his students that playing without emotion, without being part of the music, without caring, is unforgivable. My goal is to help you express your emotions through playing the piano.

To bring out the emotion in the music, it is important that the lesson plan is tailored to each individual. It is equally important to pursue the music that interests the student the most.

It is fun to play the piano and it is a skill that can be learned - or re-learned - at any age.

At age of 6, I began extensive professional piano training and have been performing around same age too. Since 1993 I hold Bachelors Degree in Music with Major in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.
I also hold Teachers Certification for Music (Grades K- 12).
I've been teaching piano to all ages and levels for over 20 years. I love teaching and I'm very patient and kind.

I believe in the power of music to reach deep into the human personality.
I would like to inspire and educate my students in general music knowledge and introduce them to the
beautiful atmosphere the piano instrument create
s.
I have participated in numerous competitions and recitals with my students, where many of my students have won awards.

I'm a highly experienced Piano Teacher and active performing Concert Pianist.

I'm also available to accompany students for recitals, concerts, etc.

*** Lesson Details ***
It is my passion to teach music, investing in the lives of students and using music to cultivate their growth.

I have been teaching for over 19 years to students of all ages and backgrounds. It is so important that all my students get out of the lessons what they want and be happy. For ex. I choose some piano pieces and I play for the student, and the student can choose the one that likes more, or if a student has a particular piece that really wants to learn then I explain that and find creative ways to allow that student to meet their goal.
This technique would work for the student, pushes them to practice more and enjoy that. With experience in classical and contemporary music, my teaching philosophy is to build strong technique, to develop musicality, to improve sight-reading skills, and to give to my students good knowledge of theory.

I will train for competitions, recitals or just for fun.

I enjoy teaching all levels (beginners - very advanced) and abilities.

I'm very friendly, patient and believe that anyone can learn to play piano and love their lessons.

My instructor ( Malda Keri) is extremely well qualified as an instructor. She is patient, understanding an has a sense of humor. I am a senior with a visual deficiency and she always seems to take that into consideration during my practice sessions. She has been with me for 6 months and I feel major progress.

I took guitar lessons with Thomas last winter. I appreciated his patient teaching style as he inspired and convinced me that I could learn to play a musical instrument. His methodology is flexible which allows him to take the time to answer to my needs as a beginning student. I can't wait to go back to Fort Myers Fl to take more music lessons. I would highly recommend Thomas as a music teacher, no matter which level you have achieved.
Good luck Thomas! Thank You!

My son has been taking lessons with Jeff for a year now and can honestly say he is one of the best teachers he has had. He not only teaches my son to play songs, but also teaches him how to read notes, the theory and history of music. My son enjoys and looks forward to meeting with Jeff for his lessons every week. And I extremely happy and thrilled to have found him.

I've been taking lessons with Jeff for over 6 years. He is the most knowledgeable instructor I've ever met and is fluent all music styles with an in depth understanding of music theory. Our lessons are always fun, entertaining and educational. We always mix music theory with any songs we are trying to figure out and Jeff always wants you to leave with having learned something new, not just how to play a song.
I really value the time I spent in Jeff's lessons and would recommend him to anyone interested in pursuing guitar lessons.

Jeff is a great guitar teacher! He is very knowledgeable and I really enjoy my lessons. I have been playing guitar for more than 30 years and I have tried different teachers. Until I met Jeff, I could not find a teacher that could assess my knowledge and add to it. Jeff is the only guitar teacher that was able to understand where I was at and provide insights and improvements right away. Other teachers all focused on what they wanted to teach, not what I needed to learn. If you are an experience guitar player and want to improve, Jeff is the guy. My lessons cover multiple styles but mostly rock, blues, and jazz.

Jeff always has something new for me that is interesting & fun. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.
