I am a full time online English Teacher, and a previous daycare owner for 10+years. I have tutored many of preschool and elementary students, with math, reading, phonics, writing etc for years and my students academic grades have improved tremendously; within the first few lessons. My teaching philosophy, is that learning requires more than just educating someone or acquiring new knowledge. In my opinion, I feel, that it is more so rather, are entire inner and outer circle of well being; which is why my approach to teaching is from an aural, visual and curiosity perspective. Clay Patrick Bedford, once said: “You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives” My teaching techniques are always challenging. However, very exciting, interesting, with a blast of fun and lots of activities; very suitable and appropriate for your child's grade level. I always assess, recognize ...

My teenager son loves his singing lessons with Kara. He has been going for a couple months and I have noticed a rapid improvement in his singing. I highly recommend Kara she is a great teacher and very friendly. My son is always looking forward to his next lesson, it is the highlight of his week. Thank you so much Kara for the great work you do!

I am a college level jazz musician.
My primary instruments are jazz guitar and upright bass.
Growing up I have always wanted to sing but never could find a qualified teacher.

Luckily, after extensive research online for vocal teachers I discovered Kara.
I have been taking lessons with her for a while now and she's wonderful.
I always have many questions for her in my lessons and she always has a knowledgable response.

I feel like I'm progressing and finally learning how to sing properly with someone who knows their stuff.

I would highly recommend studying with her.

My passion is helping others write. I was fortunate enough to serve as a writing center tutor at Emory University -- often voted the #1 college for writers -- for three years and helped over 100+ students supercharge their writing skills in just 50 minute sessions. Word got around campus that I was an editing wizard and I soon thereafter started a company assisting students with writing their college applications. My record includes landing students at universities such as Wake Forest, UNC Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia University, Oberlin College and other elite schools.

I can help you or your older child with all types of advanced writing -- from standard essays to college applications to research papers. The way I like to structure lessons is to start by understanding your needs. I'm happy to focus on the big-picture, analyzing your paper's argument, use of evidence and structure while talking through any grammatical issues as they arise or vice versa.

About Ben

I am a professional in both Excel and Writing. I've logged thousands of hours on Excel for world-class companies like Uber and Gartner, and then packaged those data insights into compelling written reports. Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment.
