I am a math tutor at Brookdale Community College. I tutor students in a variety of college math courses, going from basic algebra up to Calculus 3. With a good foundation, any topic is manageable. Homework is key and my students have to complete it before our lesson. The key to succeeding in math is to be extremely organized and have a notebook which contains class notes, homework and extra practice problems. I encourage my students to rewrite the class notes after they come home from school. This way the students actually understand what happened. Before any of my lessons I ask the student to send me an outline of the topics they would like to go over and I prepare accordingly. This way my time and their time is used efficiently.

I have been teaching math for 6 years. Every student presented to me has different needs. As we go through some of the student's work, I notice what he/she needs to work on, and then we put emphasis on that. My goal is to help my students understand thoroughly the material in order build a strong foundation for further expansion on the subject.
About Hissael
I have been teaching and tutoring students for 6 years now. I teach math and guitar. The thing I love most about my teaching isn't the end result of a student's passing report card or a student's accomplishment of learning a difficult musical piece. It is the effort that takes place between the stu

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.
I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough."
