Teaching the Violin and Viola: Creating a Healthy Foundation for young children. from Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University. Chicago, Ill.
I have been teaching the violin/fiddle to children and adults for 9 years. My speciality is in teaching young children and youth. I do teach methods that are appropriate to their level, whether they are beginners or have been playing for a while. I love teaching adult beginners as well, we all need a good start with a firm technique base for left and right areas (violin and bow) of playing the violin. I teach from the concept of Musicianship: warm ups to prevent injury, correct techniques for playing, and using theory books and violin method books that are creative and easy to follow and understand, both for children and adults. I teach note-reading as well as aural learning because a student, young or older, needs both music notation and ear training to gain the best possible perspective on learning this instrument and having fun. As a teacher, I love being creative in lessons, it's very important and helps the student to assimilate the techniques and pieces so they can move ...
I love to teach the violin, viola and fiddle. I really enjoy working with adult beginners to help them discover music. You are never too old to learn! I also enjoy working with young children and youth to establish a wonderful foundation for the student. I have special training in working with chil

I would assess the student's capability and begin with the level appropriate for the student. For new students with no experience, I would start out with simple hand positioning and playing the piano firsthand. We'll learn as we go with fine details of reading notation and techniques. I will introduce one or two subject to cover for each lesson. For students that have more experience and are at the beginner level, I will introduce technical practices and assign a piece of music. As for intermediate and advance, we will cover technical practice, assigned music, and music theory.

I teach each student differently, have for many years. Beginning, intermediate or advanced. Some teachers start everyone out with the same boring "Twinkle twinkles Little Star" type book, even adults. I teach accordingly to their abilities. You get better at teach, by teaching for years, period! I have been playing since 1977, and teaching since 1995. I hope to "Hear you Here".
I have been playing since 1975, and been teaching guitar since 1995. Played in many bands since 1980. I write and record my own music in my recording studio. I currently perform solo at various places. I am well versed at chord, scale and music theory.. plus I'M FUNNY!! (that is free though).. :)

For classical piano, I worked a bit on the Adagio from the Moonlight Sonata, the Eb Major Nocturne and the Adagio from the C major Mozart Concerto, and also the first Invention.
I dedicated more time to the improvising and ostinato practice. While my pedaling improved, it still has a ways to go before I can play some of the classical piano repertoire.
In any case, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot!
Thanks very much!"
I’ve had many teachers over the years and this is truly an enjoyable experience. I look Forward to my lessons. Thanks Chau!"

Out of all the stage presence and performance tips for singers, there's one surprise element that many vocalists forget about. Learn what it is -- and how to improve your own performance -- in this guest post by Davis, CA teacher Steve G... Some people are born with perfect pitch, others with great ability to control the volume and character of their voice, and still others with a natural ebullience and a knack for the spotlight. Each of these attributes can contribute positively to a voca …

Singers, this is your life. 15. For some reason, your voice always sounds extra amazing in the shower. So work it! The shower is basically your own personal vocal booth. The small space and smooth hard walls give you a volume boost plus a healthy dose of reverb. What singer doesn't love that? 14. That awkward moment when you are the only person singing along. What? I love this song! Some people might not get it, but for singers, grooving along to that certain, special song …

For the professional singer, an injury to the voice can be devastating. Resolving such injuries can require any number of measures, ranging from vocal rest and therapy to surgical intervention. There is a common misconception that vocal injuries, such as vocal nodules, are solely the result of poor vocal technique or vocal abuse. While this is not always the case, this misunderstanding has created a stigma against singers with vocal nodules, which can make dealing with such an injury even more d …
