You will learn the fundamentals of office to advanced skills to help you succeed even further in school and work.
You might not always notice it, but music is all around—from the stereo in your car to the music piped in at department stores. And you also may not be aware that music has a wide array of impacts on your health: Studies show that music has a strong effect on your mood levels and emotions, and also on how you think and your general intelligence. The music you listen to can have a profound effect on your test scores and your ability to quickly process information. And if you’ve ever played an instrument, studies show that you’re already ahead of the curve. Playing an instrument is a great way to test out your creative thinking and push your brain to process information in a new way. Whether you’re listening or playing, a little music can go a long way. I am here to help you realize not only your playing potential, but guide you into not ju
st becoming a guitar player, piano player, but a musician. I am able to teach Piano, Guitar, Music recording from software/hardware to MIDI, including Sonar, Reason, and related software.
I have studied music at California State University San Bernardino, where I minored in music and learned the immense possibilities of the music field. Music is part of my everyday life, and its an honor to know I can play music but also create it. My goal is to show you as the student how to realize that dream.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a very friendly, fun and patient instructor. I believe that when you take any type of music lesson, it should be to have fun. With fun, passion, and dedication, sky is the limit. The curriculum I like to use are the most simplified forms to teach an instrument. It's about playing smarter, not harder. I do offer recording sessions to my students to track their progress, and give you a copy to keep as memorabilia.
*** Studio Equipment *** Bergman Upright Piano. Fender Acoustic/ Gibson Electric. Marshall Amps. Digital and analog Recording Station.
*** Specialties *** I have in-depth knowledge of classical works, but my emphasis is in modern rock/ Alternative/ Pop. I like teaching the songs you like to hear from The Beatles to Green Day! I love all music genres and if I have not heard of the song you want to play I will learn it so that I can teach you!
Paul is a great and fun guy with exceptional musician knowledge across multiple platforms. The lessons provided me with the basics I needed to basically perform as a DJ. There is a lot to learn & he's the guy that got me started. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. We were very pleased with the progress our son made by going from an ACT score of 19 to 23 after only 5 sessions with Matthew. I would highly recommend Matthew J. Horwich to anyone needing tutoring.

Matthew explained his approach to coaching and the plan so we were able to make an educated choice on the best tutor for our son. Matthew was responsive, organized and worked very well with our son. He communicated directly with our son and cc:ed me so that I was aware of the plan and f/u. His scores did improve on the SAT and we were pleased with the investment.

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

***It is recommended students own or have regular access to a personal computer (Windows preferred) after 2002 in order to get the best benefit***I have several years experience using Office software and have taught usage mostly to seniors.
***ADDRESSES WITHIN REMOTE AREAS (no public transit or bicycle access) DIFFICULT TO SERVICE PHYSICALLY. Lesson cancellations and schedule changes need to be submitted through Takelessons.com student website, relieve busy teacher from multiple informal requests***
My style and attitude toward teaching is a balance between subject delivery and reflective, supportive interaction. I seek to enable current research on education for busy, yet goal-driven student interests. This is done through customized online lessons coordinating the experience with optimal resources and tools: ESL and Speech students learn to monitor their own phonological issues with dedicated software/feedback, guiding German students through conversational dialogues, and ensuring relevant resources for Excel and related productivity lessons.
Due to my limited funds
, I do not have direct experience with the Adobe suite, but I have extensive knowledge of related, free distributions that are transferable. Possibly the only PhD on Takelessons server from a regionally accredited university, I am a member of the American Council on Foreign Language Learning and the Association for Language Learning. My most popular subjects are as follows:
North American English Pronunciation Practice for ESL (NAEPP-ESL) or Accent-Reduction: *****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 recordings, and about 50 GB onedrive folder for lesson files*****
Carefully following Burkkowsky's (1969) multi-media method, I have taught this subject for over five years for public and private causes, such as library, individuals, and language schools. German Language and Culture: *****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 Recordings and about 50 GB onedrive folder for lesson files*****
Microsoft Excel: ***It is recommended students own or have regular access to a personal computer after 2002 in order to get the best benefit***

Dr. G has been able to identify and target very specific problems in my speech. His method is very effective. He is an excellent teacher!

Among the accent reduction teachers that I had before, Erol is the only one who actually could find the problems in my accent! The program he uses is very useful. The way he explains things or exaggerates the mistakes will help me to correct my accent. Overall, an awesome experience and I would totally recommend him to anyone.
I work with computers (Windows / Mac) for almost 20 years. Expert in office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
Started early to use Excel for business and created sheets for an executive of a big German Company when I was 19.
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching. I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids. Have a great day, Marcel
Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.
I'm happy to help out with any Microsoft Office problems.
I am a composer, guitarist, and music producer from Los Angeles! Most recently, I received my master's degree from New York University in the field of Scoring for Film and Multimedia. My ultimate goal is to be a successful composer for all types of media.
I have been playing guitar for 16 years, and have been writing my own music for 10. I have been involved in rock, classical, blues, jazz, dance, and electronic music.
I am eager to share what I know about playing, writing, and recording music. My background is a combination of both traditional and modern, so there is nothing that I'm uncomfortable with.
Aaron was quite a good coach. I accomplished all my objectives. However, i live in Ventura and the lessons are in Los Angeles so the distance is too far for me. Therefore, i won't be signing up with "take lessons" for additional lessons.
March 9, 2016
Aaron is punctual, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. He directed lessons to address what I wanted to learn, but always made sure to bring practice materials and blank sheet music for the days I wanted to leave the curriculum in his hands.
His extensive education is crucial to his understanding of theory and composition, and with all his insight he was able to help me parse out my own pieces so that I could flesh out my own arrangements.
I not only received the guitar training I signed up for, but also invaluable teachings regarding gear, composition, theory, and performance. There was never a question I had that Aaron couldn't help me with.
He's an excellent teacher and an excellent person.

If you want to learn the in's and it's of Office, I'm your gal! I have experience, mainly with seniors and in corporate America, using Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint to create digital masterpieces. Ive been told I'm a great teacher due to my endless patience and ability to explain anything to anyone.
Hiya! I grew up in a unique era where I was able to watch Windows go from a dos system without a fancy face to what it is now, a user friendly tool. I have used every Windows version of Microsoft Office from 95 to 365. Do I know Office? You bet I do!
I have taught seniors how to do anything from typing a basic document in Word to creating a full scale PowerPoint to be used in a presentation.
In corporate America, I was able to hone my Excel and Access skills by participating in and leading a large number of projects at various companies. I am currently employed as a Project Specialist, and my specialty is data manipulation.
I love technology, and I love teaching technology, so Office falls right in that wheelhouse. I look forward to sharing my passion with you!
