About Patricia
As a child I watched from the doorway as my older sister took her piano lessons. From that experience I taught myself to play the piano. My formal training came in college where I received my BA in Applied Music in piano and voice. I studied classical music and opera from a visiting professor from Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore MD. I graduated with honors and gave my Town Hall performance in the Spring of my Senior year. I had a passionate desire to be involved in music, to hear it and to perform it. I spent several years singing with the San Diego Opera Company, performing lead roles in Musical Theater and soloing in concerts from Monterrey to San Diego, CA. While still a student in college, I taught piano to children from the local community, so I have accumulated decades of teaching experience. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than
to see individuals "blossom" into their creative selves. Whether it is for a student's own enjoyment, audition preparation, recital performance or ongoing piano or voice development, I am committed to engaging you in an experience of learning and fun. It may be the biggest thrill of your lifetime!

*** Lesson Details ***
I love to have fun. For me, learning is a great source of fun. My goal is to make the process of your learning music fun while effective. I do have high standards for participation. I do not ask anything of you that I haven't done myself. I know, from many years of experience in performing and teaching, what it takes to make progress in a learning curve, Are you excited? Are you dedicated? Are you willing to jump in and get busy? I will give you the foundation of theory and technique to support your performance. I will expand your understanding and appreciation for music in its many styles and formats. No every other week or schedule as you go lessons, please.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room - Steinway piano, cathedral ceilings ... good acoustics.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Must have piano or quality keyboard. I definitely prefer piano.

*** Specialties ***
I was trained classically in both piano and voice, but spent many years in musical theater and singing in supper clubs, as well. I am capable of teaching most styles of piano and voice except rock and rap.

i recently came out of an audition and I sang my musical pieces better than I've ever done them before! The auditioner sat me down at the end and said he loves my voice. He said, based on how much he liked my pieces and how well I did that he would like to extend an early invitation for callbacks for the program! I really have Patricia to thank for that. She has helped me improve my voice by leaps and bounds in the time that i have been working with her and its amazing to get such immediate and rewarding results. I CAN NOT THANK PATRICIA ENOUGH! SHE COULD NOT HAVE PREPARED ME ANY BETTER AND IM SO GRATEFUL THAT I GET TO WORK WITH HER!!

She is great! It will be my 5th lesson with her tomorrow, but she has already gave me confidence in singing (at least I can get my voice out more than before without shame), being patient with me, very informative, and gives great advises.
I originally took her lesson because I had an audition for Christmas Carol, and I wanted to at least go over the song I was going to use. Instead, she gave me another song to sing for the audition. I have never been able to get in a show where singing is the main dish; however, after her advise with the new song, I was thrilled to see an email from the casting director when I was chosen to be in the show! I can never thank enough her for this. :D

About Tanna
HI there! My name is Tanna and I am professional photographer with an emphasis on children and pets. I can teach you how to easily use your DSLR (digital) camera to capture your special moments, without having to learn advanced techniques or art history lessons. Maybe you just got a new "big" camera for your birthday and can't wait to take some professional photos but you have no idea where to start! You tried taking photos of your kids and your dog but they just come out dark, blurry, or out of focus. I can help you with that!
This class is geared towards beginners that want to take professional looking photos with a digital camera without sitting through college courses. You may use a DSLR or a point-and-shoot. We will go over the basic functions of your digital camera and how to take photos using Manual and Semi-Automatic modes.
I have taught kids and adults of all ages and I will give you custom handouts to take home so you don't forget what you've learned in the lesson. I always recommend at least two lessons, the first lesson is geared towards learning how to use your camera and the second lesson is actually taking it out and using it with my guidance.

Hi there! I'm Janis, a recent graduate from the University of Southern California. While at USC, I studied neuroscience, but beyond my science curriculum, I took many literature and music classes.
I love learning about all types of topics and people, and I want to bring this energy to my students. From a very young age, I have loved creating lesson plans for my younger siblings. This developed into more formal tutoring and mentoring roles through middle school, high school, and college.
I have experience teaching everything from beginner piano to young children, to science presentation skills to international teaching assistants.
Using passion, compassion, and a positive energy, I would love to help you achieve your learning goals! :)

I lost the "joy" of photography with Irina. Technically, she knows her stuff, but her sensitivity and people skills are lacking. Barely an encouraging word. I felt degraded, nervous, and overall shitty by the end of the second lesson. Hoping for a better experience with another teacher.

Irina is amazing... I would never even think that I can create such beautiful photographies.
My father used to have a small photo lab at the loft and it was like a magic to me. I was always passionate to learn the beauty of photography however I never got the chance to.
I took few classes with Irina, she helped me to create incredible photos for my marketing campaign.
Irina is very professional and patient teacher, she has deep knowledge of photography and she makes it fun to learn.
I would recommend Irina to anyone who wants to learn photography.

In my paintings I am drawn to the timelessness of the human figure. I find people to be my biggest source of inspiration. This appreciation extends also to the students I am honored to teach. I never quite know where the painting will take us and what skills will be honed to match the inspiration the student has, but on many occasions we both are wonderfully surprised by the results. As a teacher I feel I am most useful when the lessons inspire. The technique will come with time but it takes inspiration to get there!

I had three other painting instructors before I came upon Megan's class and I will say she is the best painting teacher I have had and that does not come easy because I am a professional sculptor that has taught and taken many classes in the art field. Simply put Megan is at the top of her game and her style of teaching is one that most anybody will benefit from her classes.

About Joanna
Hi!

Here is my bio:

London born, LA / NYC based vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Joanna Wallfisch has emerged as a unique voice in the singer-songwriter world. With a classical and jazz background her music combines post-folk and art-song with a poetic lyricism which The New York Times described as "sensitive and deep”. She is a master in the art of live vocal looping and creates beguiling vocal soundscapes to accompany her songs. The Telegraph called her virtuosic performance as "sublime and unique".

Since 2011 Joanna has released three critically acclaimed albums, her fourth, "Blood and Bone" to be released later in 2017. “Gardens In My Mind”, (Sunnyside, 2016), features pianist Dan Tepfer and the award-winning Sacconi Quartet, showcasing Joanna’s “crystalline delivery” (Downbeat) and lush string quartet writing. Downbe
at gave this album four stars, calling it "an exquisite singer-songwriter album”, while PopMatters called it “a truly beautiful listen from start to finish”.

In addition to her work as a performer, she has worked on multiple film soundtracks—her song “Satellite” is featured in the movie Pressure, starring Danny Huston, while other credits include All the Beautiful Things (Sundance), Desert Dancer, Dear Wendy and Summer in February. She is also the featured voice of the national ad campaign for Hillshire Farms

Alongside her original material, Joanna commissioned to arrange a full length concert and lecture "Beyond Joni", focussing on the works of female songwriters of the 1960’s, including Joni Mitchell, Judy Sill and Joan Baez, to name a few. This is an ongoing project to be performed around the world.

Joanna has had the opportunity to work with such music luminaries as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Kenny Werner, Lee Konitz Quartet. She has toured her own projects internationally, including Europe, Australia, Japan and throughout the US. She is also a regular collaborator within the dance, circus and theatre worlds.

Joanna is a passionate educator, especially in the field of early music education. She teaches with Grammy Nominated clarinetist Oran Etkin, teaching for his children's music education program Timablooloo. In February of 2016 she ventured to Mumbai to direct a choir of 200 children with the UK charity Songbound, bringing music to impoverished children in India.

About Lindsey
Lindsey Baumsteiger is a freelance, fine-art photographer based in Central California; where she graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography. She has spent years traveling and taking pictures for herself and clients, but has found that her heart resides in the teaching of photography. A firm supporter in the power of creative self-expression and art as therapy, Lindsey believes that photography is a medium of art every individual can greatly benefit from. It is this passion and experience that has brought her to teach and share her excitement.

“Lindsey took the fear of ‘being in over my head’ and smashed it. She explained things in a way that made me feel less scared to pull out my camera in front of people. Most of all, she made photography an inviting place. I am encouraged, excited, and look forward to taking another class with h
er in the future.”
— Katharine L.

“Lindsey is knowledgeable and had a real passion for both photography and passing her love of photography along to her students. The manual settings have always been intimidating for me. Lindsey broke it down in a way that helped me to really understand. Her class has opened me to a whole world of possibilities and has ignited a new passion for a hobby that I have always loved. I could not wait to rush out and try the new techniques.”
