I've taught ESL to many students, varying from people who could barely say "hello" to those who were just trying to get the past perfect continuous tense right. I love it.

I taught ESL for six years as a volunteer in a classroom setting. During those years, I was assigned beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses. I loved the enthusiasm ESL students brought to the class and their desire to learn English. I use a variety of textbooks and worksheets to enhance vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing skills. Aside from reviewing written exercises with students, I focus heavily on pronunciation during tutoring sessions.

Hello, welcome to my studio ! I myself am not a native speaker as I arrived in the US to live permanently when I was 7 years old. However, through my acclimation and diligent studies, I'm glad that I'm now fluent and proficient enough to believe that I can teach ESL in the beginning and intermediate levels. I have 2 summers of teaching experience teaching ESL overseas to Chinese students as well as teaching Citizenship class to immigrants. Learning English is not just about learning the words, but practicing listening and speaking in conversation. I excelled in spelling in elementary school and vocabulary in middle and high school (memorizing word-for-word on the definitions), helping me to excel in my grades and exams during those years. Hopefully, you can get some helpful learning tricks from me!

My name is Katya. I've been teaching Spanish, English and Russian (as a Foreign Language) to adults and children for many years. I am a native Russian speaker, a classical pianist, singer and professional educator. I received my degree in piano performance and pedagogy in 1992, and have been teaching since then. I have lived (and taught) all over the world, and I love what I do.
I speak and write fluently in English and Spanish, but as a native Russian speaker, I had to learn English, Spanish (Portuguese, French, Italian and Mandarin) languages from the ground up, just like my students, so I understand very well the challenges of learning a language. I have structured a specific approach that incorporates tricks and shortcuts.
