I come from a very musical family and have years of professional gigging experience with cover bands, mostly rock and pop, but also country, folk, indie, jazz, blues. I teach and love classical piano as well! All levels are welcome. First I will help you find the method book and level that is appropriate for you, then I help you plan out your goals. My studio has recitals every 3 months. I like to focus heavily on rhythm reading skills as a foundation for all instruments I teach, and once you have that down, reading music is easy!! :)

All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc. For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs. Let's make beautiful music!

I've been teaching piano for over 10 years. Working with early beginner to late intermediate piano students! Each student is unique; so I customize the lessons and repertoire to suit each student, utilizing Supersonics Piano and Accelerated Piano Adventures curriculum.
I work with each student to help mold their learning experience specifically to their individual needs. We will typically start with basic music theory and then move to exploring sight-reading, backing tracks and lots of fun piano pieces.
I incorporate a variety of fun rhythm patterns in the left hand to help with learning your scales. You'll also learn chords, arpeggios, sight-reading, improvisation, ear training, and basic music theory.
I will provide written individual feedback after each lesson to help remind the student of what we are working on. I hope to have the chance to share my love of music with you!
My number one goal is to help build a love and passion for music and boost student's ...

My approach to learning piano is simple, to demystify what goes on at the keyboard, as soon as possible. I want to break down the barriers for playing so that they are minimized or made nonexistent. I listen to the concerns of the student and offer advice on what needs work. We will create achievable goals together and play what we want to play, together. My specialties are pop music, jazz piano, and improvisation. Feel free to contact me with availability questions or to see if you/your student would be a good fit.

As a pianist, there are many skills to develop through your practice regimen. Reading the grand staff means you need to be proficient in understanding both bass and treble clef, simultaneously! You need to develop independence between your left and right hands while playing and you also need to have an understanding of music theory, voice leading and harmony. One challenge that is both fun and practical to learn is coordination of your hands while playing. Here are some great exercises that can …
