About Amaris
I am a versatile costume designer whose work includes theater, dance, opera and film. I have created classic characters such as Petruchio, Puck, and new and unusual creations including harajuku girls for Mikado, steampunk Wizard of Oz, and 1920s Little Mermaid.
I believes that costume design is a vital art. It is not illustration or embellishment, but a means for the communication of ideas. Successful design takes the story, characters, and historical facts, and translates them through an emotional and artistic lens.
I have designed costumes for many bay area venues including The Marin Theater Company, Cinnabar, Marin Musical Theatre Company and was a costume assistant/stylist for Avengers Grimm Movie directed by Jeremy Inman.
Her work with dance includes Myth and Machine, Kali Fierce Mother, and Sing Me Home Sick Blues for Carmen Carne
s Dance Ensemble, Roco Dance & Fitness and Adda Cevenger Junior Preparatory & Theater School.
I have earned best costume design awards for the Annual Arty Awards, Annie and a Youth Production of Little Mermaid. I was a nominee for best costume design for San Francisco Bay Area Theater Critics Circle, Taming of the Shrew and a nominee for best costume design, Elly Awards, Thoroughly Modern Millie
I am a member of IATWU 784 the local wardrobe costume union and have received my costume design degree at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Upon graduation I worked in fabric and textile design, before moving into costume design full time.
I have worked on many dance and theater productions including: A Couple of Blaguards, Crimes of Passion,Tarzan,Pippin, Into the Woods, Midsummer Nights Dream,Wizard of Oz, Sussical, Little Mermaid, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie, Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinnafore, Most Happy Fella, Oliver Twist, Peter Pan, Hair, Aladdin, Grease , Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Once Upon a Mattress, Alice in Wonderland, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

About Florin
I am an International Master and 2015 co-champion of the State of Illinois. I have been coaching full time since 2011 and helping players increase their rating and get more wins!
If you have any questions at all send me a message and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Also if you do not see a certain time slot available you can check with me to see if indeed that slot is taken.

For lessons I typically use Dasher and Skype (audio only).
You could try to use the iOS version instead but it has a few more glitches than the Windows version.

You can get a 30 day trial on ICC (Internet Chess Club) after that it will be a monthly subscription but it is the best chess server out there for finding the right kind of players.

Right now I am only accepting online lessons, thanks for stopping by!

Florin is a great instructor. I asked my son (age 12) if he used any of Florin's advice/teachings in his latest chess tournament, and he said, "Yes! I used EVERYTHING he taught me." :)

What a great instructor! After six months of lessons I can say, without a doubt, Florin is the best instructor anyone could hope for. Florin is very knowledgeable and helped me improve my game more than I could ever imagine. He is patient and takes the time to explain difficult concepts. It is not everyday you get the opportunity to receive lessons from an International Master.

Kaitlin was very patient with me and helped me to understand the basics of crocheting. Taking a class in person instead of online is definitely the way to go as crocheting is a very hands on and detail oriented task!

About Terry
I learned to sew as a teenager. It became a hobby that I became passionate about that grew into a business when I decided to take an early retirement. I’m interested in helping others learn how to perfect their skills and and be proud of their work.

I’m familiar with the challenges that sewing can present and knows the patience that it can take. Some time you may need that extra help or opinion on how to get something done correctly. I would like to share my experience and lessons learned with you.

About Adenike
Hello,

My name is Adenike, you can call me Adé. I'm a trained fashion stylist and designer with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from the University of Rhode Island.

I have taught sewing and design, to people of all ages, genders, and abilities throughout my professional career. It began in 2002 when I decided to work with the Americorps, Teach America program. There I created and executed a lesson plan that taught students how to sketch, render, sew, read patterns and adjusts garments for personal to suit their personal needs. The program incorporated science, math, and history so that they had a practical and anthropological approach to fashion design. It was great, and I discovered that one of my other joys in life is teaching.

Most recently, I've worked with Hobby Quest, where I teach children in an after schoo
l setting. Hobby Quest requires an extensive background check because of that fact that work is done with students on school grounds. I can supply references that will attest to my professionalism and easy going nature.

It's recommended that you schedule for a minimum of 60 minutes to get the most out of you lesson.
