I'm Esther, a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself piano and singing in a choir at the age of 9. I moved to the U.S. in 1992 and studied music for 10 years receiving my B.M. & M.M in music at California State University of Sacramento. I studied and trained with Claudia Kitka &

I've taken private drum and piano lessons myself, which has given me a great understanding of all musical areas with a strong focus on rhythm. I've played a lot of different kinds of gigs in a lot of different locations and settings, including Spain and New York. I've been teaching since 2012. When I teach, I try to tailor my lessons to each individual student. If the student is willing to work hard to improve, I'm willing to work just as hard to keep the student improving.
Students will learn their favorite songs with music and by ear. Studio days are available to record the students performing the songs when ready and you get to keep the recordings to showcase your improvement!
Advanced students also welcome. I have challenges for everyone.
We can meet and talk in person before starting lessons to make sure it's a good fit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
MUSIC: My first private lessons were on piano at 8 years of age with piano lessons, I learned about he basic fundamentals of music (scales, melodies, harmonies, rhythm, time and key signatures, accidentals, etc.). Since 1998, I have taught students of all ages in multiple genres. Many of my alumni have gone on to become voice and music theatre majors at some of the most prestigious programs in the USA, as well as becoming professional performing and recording artists all around the world, so I have gone onlin
Throughout my time as his student he's kept challenging me by progressively raising his expectations as my ability improves. In this way I get to perpetually make small improvements without being overwhelmed.
He also keeps in communication after hours so we can be more fully prepared for our next meeting, usually by finding or modifying the score to a song of my choosing. Because of this I get the feeling that he is invested in my improvement as well.
Mr. Snow is specifically an expert on the voice, and he has studied and performed singing at high levels. He is also an able musician, and his knowledge of music theory has helped shape my studies.
He's very good at communicating his teachings, and I'm usually able to make the adjustments he requested immediately.
After every lesson I feel that I've gained some ability, and I believe I will continue to improve my singing as long as he is my teacher. He has always been courteous and professional, and I enjoy my lessons with him.
Olivia also auditioned for the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Conservatory and was accepted for their August Intensive program. I have no doubt that it was Steven's teaching that helped her with her audition that gained her acceptance.
Olivia is now 12 and as a young person, needs to learn how to interpret a song so that she can perform it well. Steven takes the time to teach the MEANING of the words and explains the story that is trying to be told. This was very important for Olivia to learn.
I highly recommend working with Steven. He is a fabulous teacher with a lot of knowledge and insight.

A brass instrument pitched in B♭, and resembles a trumpet, but has a wider, conical bore. Starting with the basics I teach the importance of breath and finger techniques, notes, rhythms, reading, and playing songs. As the student advances we will delve theory and soloing.
Hi! My name is Karen D. I’ve had the pleasure of performing, singing, writing, and recording since I was seven years old. Besides being an Honor Graduate of Berklee School of Music, I have been a lifelong student of the international world-renowned instructors Dante Pavone and Charlie Banacos.
She didn't have one, so she could never demonstrate anything I asked about. She didn't know the key layout. She didn't know the conventions for numbering fingers. She didn't know the basic home key scale pattern.
I waited until I'd finished four classes with my new teacher before writing this so I'd have a good basis for comparison. He is immensely better at teaching this than she was. It further convinced me that she never should have represented herself as competent to teach this particular instrument.

My teaching philosophy is all about self-education: not only will I teach you how to play the guitar but I will also help you learn how to teach yourself. The work required to learn an instrument doesn't come from 30 to 60 minutes of lessons from a professional, it comes from the intensity of focus you spend playing the guitar throughout your time outside of lessons.
We will start with the end in mind; what is your goal? What music or songs do you want to learn? Then, together we will build a lesson plan to accomplish that goal. Throughout the lesson plan, along with playing your favorite songs, we will cover several aspects of being a musician: proper technique; musical interpretation and expression; music theory, which will include understanding notes, scales, chords, harmonic progressions, and analyzing music; communication when performing with other musicians; and building habits and techniques toward effective practicing.
The great thing about this process is it establishes ...
Hello future students! I am so excited you are here to learn a little about who I am and what I do. Before I talk about myself, I want to express how important music is for all of us.
