I am an accomplished vocal coach and songwriter and currently work with a wide variety of singers from young beginners to professionals who look to develop through ear training, singing and songwriting. In a unique way I guide people to become better performers and musicians through the combination of voice, piano and composition.

About Robert
Creativity, skill and love of music are the key elements that I work to encourage in every student. Over the years my teaching has evolved and I find it gratifying to take people far beyond their own expectations while helping them achieve their goals. I believe everyone is musical and just needs the right key to tap into their own creativity.

For beginners it's important to study with an excellent teacher. Setting a solid and creative foundation makes all the difference!
For advanced players studying with a great artist takes you greater artistry.

Weekly private lessons focus on technical skills in either piano, voice (or a combination of both) and a strong musical foundation. Theory and Ear Training are fundamentals that are embedded in this approach to developing a complete musician and artist.

I have over 20 years exper
ience working with students as young as 3 and old as 85! Often multiple generations in a family study together making for a rich family experience.

Performance opportunities: Recitals, Concerts Cabarets and Musicals are a part of developing into a musician and singer and enhancing a love of music that will last a lifetime!

Voice – I am an accomplished vocal coach and songwriter and currently work with a wide variety of singers from young beginners to professionals who look to develop through ear training, singing and songwriting. In a unique way I guide people to become better performers and musicians through the combination of voice, piano and composition.

I work with students as young as 3 or 4 and into their 80’s. It’s important to begin with an excellent teacher from the start to set a good foundation and to have the ability to develop as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I enjoy working with beginners as well as accomplished musicians. I also believe that music is one of the great joys of life and that lessons should be FUN!

Besides a wide variety of performance opportunities through my Family to Family Concerts, I also offer my students the curriculum and exams of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, a gold standard music curriculum.. The ABRSM is accredited in over 100 countries worldwide and exams are offered twice per year in all instruments and voice.

A message from Robert: Hello, I am a master teacher focusing on the classical repertoire along with a very creative approach to improvisation and composition. I help students to achieve their interests of music rather than focusing on teaching one particular method. Classes are tailored to the student and constantly evolving. This has led me to work in a variety of mediums and styles including Jazz, improvisation, rock and blues. This approach also enhances an understanding and love of classical music.
I also guide my students in the curriculum and exams of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. (ABRSM) Exams are offered twice per year.
I have also found it inspiring to work with people with disabilities and help them find a way to express themselves musically. I give lectures and workshops in the area and around the country on improvisation and creativity along with concerts of my own music.
I also work with a number of students in vocal coaching and accompanying.
New this year are seminars in songwriting for adults and children. Groups of 4-5 collaborate on new songs. Film and video composition coming soon!

Learn to sing better with a vocal coach. A vocal coach helps you work on your unique instrument, your voice.

As any singer, you should know, not only does your voice need to be in tune and to have a good tone but you will also need to be your own voice doctor. You need to take care of your voice (just like any instrument)! One of the first things you can do is to drink plenty of water so your vocal chords don’t dry out. Then you will need to remember to warm your voice up with a few exercises that I can teach you. It’s best to warm up on a daily basis but especially before any performance. Also, learn what key or notes your voice sounds the best. Think of certain songs that you sing of other artist and find out what key they sing them in. Don’t be discouraged if you can not sing all the notes because with vocal exercise you can learn to extend your vocal range!

Vocal Techniques! This is gonna save your life as a singer and songwriter! Warm up and explore your maximum

About Jena
Learn to SING, PLAY, WRITE. PERFORM and RECORD, The Whole Musician Way. Balance your life through Music.

From my songs, I am powerless to power-girl, I became a transformational singer/songwriter, coach, speaker, workshop host and author of the book, Change the World - Write Your Song! I have written songs since my teens and I found a kinship to writing songs that was driven by dynamics, power and the transformation music has to myself, to others and to the world. All I want to be is a transformational singer/songwriter and now teacher. It's my turn to help you write your song. Find your voice whether it be singing, playing an instrument, writing or performing. I teach the Whole Musician Way! It's way of life!

I have been writing songs for over 25 years. At 35, I returned to school and got an Associate of Art degree in music at Sa
nta Barbara City College and a Bachelor of Art degree in music at University California Santa Barbara. After receiving my degree from the University in 2001, I plunged back into my first love songwriting and started recording. In 2004, I released my CD, Faded Fiction. These were songs that I recorded in 1998, while attending school. Then in 2007, I released a second CD, The Ballad Of Calamity. In 2011, I self -published my first book, Change The World; Write Your Song! Book I - Fundamentals and beyond for the Aspiring Singer/Songwriter. I have been busy working on book II, writing songs, working for a non-profit After school program called, Girls Rock SB, teaching privately, singing and acting with Santa Barbara Revels, performing with my band The Stone Phoneys - Linda Ronstadt Tribute and recording.

Special note to the Parents of prospective music students:

Many doctors and scientist are also musicians because it is a creative craft stimulating a part of the brain that academics does not. Music will always be around and when you learn music you also learn; math, language, history, reading and science. Whether your child continues in music or not, the benefits of knowing music are documented.

Together with your child I will help them realize their greatness. They can learn so much about themselves just by writing their song. I have a unique perspective on the pre-teen and teen because that is when I began writing songs. If only I knew then what I know now! This is something I can do for your child. For me, songwriting was my escape and my therapy. I survived my troubled teens through music. And now I want to teach your child all I know. Combined with some performance opportunities! Your child will love it! Most of my kids get a kick out of my lessons. I am very patient and yet provide incentives to inspire motivation for the possibilities of great things.

Music has the power to influence and change lives, therefore changing the world. My objective is to help you create your song, your voice, your style!

I have my own guitar.

*** Specialties ***
I like to teach the "whole Musician" meaning if a student wants to learn voice and guitar or piano to accompany their voice or to help them write a song or help them complete a song I can teach them. Students will begin by learning songs they like by singing, playing and performing them with my guidance. What ever I know I will pass it on! I love to teach songwriting. I wrote a book and believe that songwriting is very therapeutic and easy to learn. I mostly like to teach a student by ear but can teach them how to read music too. I also love to teach how to perform, record and to find their best singing voice.

I recommend Jenna to all levels of learners!

I knew nothing about playing the guitar before my first lesson. She made me feel comfortable right away and was able to help me learn quickly. She also helped me with my singing at the same time. She let me pick the music I was interested in and gave me tips on how to learn at home too. She is also very nice and patient.
Thanks Jenna!

It is very important that you have access to a piano for vocal lessons. I can help improve the discipline and talent of any singer right up until foreign languages are involved. I'm a musician, not a linguist! :)

About Christopher
www.pianomancan.com

My name is Christopher, or Chris for short. I am a composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist, and private tutor. I have taught private lessons in classical and contemporary piano performance, vocal performance, guitar performance, music theory, and musicianship to local students for the past 10 years. I currently have 36 weekly students all over Ventura County. I attended CSUN'€™s school of music where I received my Bachelor'€™s of Music in Music Composition. My other experience includes teaching at 2 different music studios (Perry Music Studios and Brookyln's Conservatory of Music), teaching Confirmation classes to teenagers at St. Jude'€™s Catholic Church, and teaching English to Japanese high school students through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: My availability is very limited right now due to t
he amount of students I have, however please don't hesitate to message me requesting specific times that are currently unavailable -- I can often shuffle things around to accommodate different scheduling needs.

My philosophy when it comes to doing anything with music is that it should be fun! Whether you're practicing a piece, playing with a band, writing something new, or even learning music theory, music is primarily about enjoying yourself and the others around you.

The best way to ensure that you enjoy yourself is to learn what you want to learn and play what you want to play. In addition to a standard curriculum, I want you to tell me what kind of music you're interested in and what kind of pieces you want to play! Do you love classic rock? Do you love pop? Blues? Jazz? Folk tunes? Opera? Or maybe you're a fan of the classical masters? Whatever the case may be, my number one goal is to make sure you're having fun while you develop your new talents.

I'm comfortable teaching students as young as 7 years of age, although I can teach even younger if they are especially well-behaved.

I really like working with Chris a lot for several reasons. First he is a very kind & enthusiastic teacher who is always very cheerful and always brings his best to the lessons. As an adult student, I'm not very confident about myself. He has helped to bring that confidence back. He was able to help me tackle the speed problem for a piece of music that I was having trouble with for a long time. And with just a few words of advice, he was able to help me fix the problem right away. Chris is truly a fantastic teacher! I'm glad to be his student.

I have been teaching Singing for about 10 years. My lessons involve warm ups, exercises, and technique to start the lessons. I like to get to know my students and once we determine what we are working on, we choose songs together that they would like to work on. We set up a plan or what they would like to work towards and create a vision together. My teaching style is laid back within structure and creative! I like to help students find their own individual voice and style.

About Rose
I graduated from the University of South Florida where I received my BA in Theatre performance & Communication with a minor in Dance. In 2011 I finished studying Music Recording at St. Petersburg College, where I focused on Singing/Songwriting. I trained at NYU with the Aquila acting company in classical theatre, and I also trained with TVI Acting studios in Los Angeles in Film and television.

My Music and Performance experience started when I was 6 singing in choir, school productions, and taking piano lessons. I continued on with group ensembles, musical theatre shows and later on touring with the Spanish Lyric Theatre in Both English and Spanish in throughout Florida after college.

I have been teaching one on one and group lessons for 15 years in various subjects, Including Music, Dance, Theatre, Academic Tutoring (Eleme
ntary/Middle School subjects: English, Writing, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Learning Skills, Civics, French, and test preparations), and Culinary Lessons.

*For Travel to location lessons I offer 45min or 1hour timeframe only. Online lessons any interval.

I like the combination of relaxed and goal oriented. I like to get to know my students and learn about about expectations and goals they have for themselves. Then I set up a plan that will help them achieve their goals and get them closer to what they want from their lessons. I take into consideration their interest, style, and help them to find their unique learning style.

I do have some guidelines for parents and students. If the student is a minor, I ask that the parent be in the house for the lesson. I also ask that the lesson be performed in the Living room or Music Space.

LESSON DETAILS

Whether you are a parent looking for instruction for your child, or for yourself, Rachel can customize the right program that best suits your needs. Her students come from all walks of life and have different goals, but they all have one thing in common. They love performing and have the desire to be the best at their chosen craft (singing/acting).

Some students want to sing/act for themselves, others want to sing/act for a hobby, and others want to be professional performers. That's where Rachel comes in. No matter what your goals are, she can help. Rachel teaches her students how to become true artists without tearing them down and without taking away the part of them that makes them unique. She teaches healthy technique that is based off of the human anatomy; the science of how the body/mind works and how the body/mind can work as efficiently as possible while singing or acting.

Learning how to sing/act is a process and doesn't happen overnight. Rachel's ultimate goal as a teacher is to not only make her students the best performers and singers they can be, but also give them all of the proper tools they need to have a more productive mind frame and become self-sufficient. Of course this can take years to master. It takes time and dedication.

OTHER LESSON INFORMATION

SINGING: Bel Canto singing technique for the modern singer is taught in private and group classes. No one sounds like old opera singers, even if the student wants to sing opera. Students are allowed to choose most of the material they learn in the lesson. There will be times when Rachel will suggest a song to a student but if the student doesn't enjoy the song, they will work as a team to find a song that does work for the student. ACTING: Stella Adler, Stanislavsky, Chekhov, and Meisner Acting Technique for Theatre/Camera is taught in private and group classes. All students are exposed to each technique and Rachel sees which technique each student responds to the most. Once the student and Rachel are able to identify the technique, Rachel continues to use the terminology of that technique for the remainder of the time the student is in lessons. Students eventually are able to play roles truthfully and realistically, even if the roles are opposite of the student's own personality.

BY THE TIME STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM LESSONS:

1. Gain a lifelong, solid, consistent, and healthy technique that they can always count on in practice and performance.

2. Gain specific technical and personal notes in a notebook and/or computer file that is organized and always accessible for review.

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

Taking lessons with Rachel has been one the best decisions I've ever made. She not only has helped me with acting but has helped me become a better person. I've grown to understand myself and I've learned and done things I would never have done. And would never have been able to do. Her lessons will not only help you perform, they will help you in your everyday life.

Erin is a fabulous voice coach. Not only does she have a beautiful voice but her passion for music flows through her teaching. She is encouraging and positive, building both confident and strong singers.

Erin took the and care to educate me on every aspect of the art of singing/voice (posture, breathing techniques, importance of facial muscles, head voice/chest voice, vocal health etc.) In just 5 lessons (45 minutes each) my voice has grown beyond even my expectations with Erin's guidance.

You will be extremely happy if you choose Erin as a voice coach. She is affordable, easy going and knows how to produce results!

If you are already singing onstage or in a choir, and would like to have a more beautiful, freely produced voice, I can show you how. By developing a healthy bel canto technique, you can eliminate the "breaks" that make it feel like you have two or three voices, instead of one. You can learn to release that will fill a theater without the muscular effort that wears your voice down.

About David
I teach the bel canto method of voice that I learned in preparation for my professional opera and legit musical theater career. This technique creates an ease and freedom of production that makes the voice more flexible and naturally resonant. As a performer, I relied on this singing technique to maintain my vocal health while singing eight performances a week in large theaters, and to make my voice carry clearly over the massive sound of an opera orchestra.

Other coaches and teachers are better than I am at teaching you a new song or helping you first enter the world of singing. If you would like to take your singing experience to the next level by discovering the natural beauty of your voice, and overcome difficulties like these:
--vocal "breaks"
--difficulty with higher or lower notes
--becoming hoarse after singing

then w
e could probably make a lot of progress by working together.

David is so wonderful. I took lessons with him when I was a teen, and he was so kind and helpful (he still is of course lol). I learned so much that I still use today! The songs we learned were my audition pieces in college. He picked songs that really spoke to me in many different ways, giving me a range to work with. I miss our time working together, but I hope others will get the opportunity to learn with such a fantastic teacher!

Extremely helpful. David showed me some exercises in preparation for my vocal performance in the studio. As a result, my singing has become more and more effortless and I can now continue to sing for much longer periods of time without doing damage to my voice. Awesome experience.

Experienced teacher of 5 years, specializing in classical, jazz, musical theater, and contemporary voice! All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be singing with greater control and ease, but you will be building a strong foundation of musicianship, ear training and healthy vocal technique, all while having fun. Let's get started!

About Camille
I am a professional singer, voice teacher, and performer. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a BA in Music Education and received my CA teaching credential in music at San Diego State University.

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

As a professional recording artist, I have sung on sessions with Tim Davis (Glee, ABC's Boy Band) and Damien Jurado (indie singer-songwriter, Sub Pop & Secretly Canadian). I sing with the Los Robles Master Chorale (Oak Park) and Ensoma Creative (San Gabriel Valley), in addition to performing at restaurants and hotels such as E
ureka and Casa 425 (Claremont Village).

I specialize in classical, jazz, musical theater, and contemporary styles, but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every genre. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
