Dear guys,

I have been teaching Italian language at all levels to adults and children for over 10 years, creating my own classes uniquely tailored to each student's goals and dreams. I graduated from UCLA with a specialty in Italian language, culture and literature. I created and taught the first Italian classes in Oxnard elementary schools and created and taught Italian language and culture class in the Ventura College Community Education, the biggest one to date.

As a longtime translator, I have published significant contemporary Italian literature.

I’m thrilled and dedicated to diving into our language classes, with goals and dreams unique to each of you. I’d love to share with you the incredible, simple, awesome tools to enliven your learning journey!

About Jane (Zhenya)

I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia and have always had an immense love for languages and cultures of the world. I found that diving into a new language and culture is one of the most incredible, joyful, compassionate and meaningful paths to discovering the world. All the while, rediscovering one’s own unique interests and curiosities. It’s always surprising and rewarding in ways we can’t foresee.

As a longtime, professional independent instructor, I never imagined where my languages and creative work would lead me and the wonderful folks I encountered along the way.

It’s been a journey of incredible variety.

I had the amazing opportunity to create and teach the first Russian, French and Italian classes to children in public elementary schools all around Oxnard. I was invited to teach French and Italian classes i

n the Ventura College Community Education, Russian immersion program for the U.S. Government and English to a team of international entrepreneurs and their families.

This work and my students inspired a joyful dedication to creating live video classes. I discovered that it’s a special, interactive and awesome platform into the world and I love seeing it grow.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your language journey.

Till then,

Zhenya

One and for all you became MY KIND OF TEACHER .

Few years ago, when I was attending LACC and taking grammar classes I thought that my knowledge of Verb Tenses was good enough . I used to write huge essays included a lot of pages. Moreover, I was getting straight As for all the essays that inspired me. Maybe my grammar was really correct, but I’m not sure that I expressed meaning correctly because I didn’t feel and recognize many nuances of Verb Tenses. Since , I started to take your classes I have understood how Verb Tenses are diverse , how flexible meaning they have in order to show our emotions.
Some people say it”s not necessary to use all V.T. Simple Past , Present and Future it”s enough for communication with each other, but I’m not agree with them. Using all V.T. we have made English more rich , natural and beautiful for that reason our life become jucier.
I never had been so fascinated by studying English grammar before I met you 
I have appreciated your teaching full love . You’re always ready to share your skills with the people who want to improve their knowledge. I’m happy that I found you!
THANK YOU MY DEAR Zhenya !!!!!!!! 

Pasta. Pizza. Spaghetti. As Americans, we're pretty familiar with Italian food. But do any of us know the language? Do you know the difference between when you should say "bravo" or "brava" in a concert? Whether you need help for an exam, or are about to study abroad, I'll help you learn Italian and improve your pronunciation so that you're ready to go!

About Nicole

Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!

Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),

Michael Fennely (Carnegie Hall), Wei-En Hsu (Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), and Candace Evans (Santa Fe Opera). Nicole earned her Associates in Theatre from Brigham Young University ('12) and went on to acquire her BM in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University ('14). Nicole obtained additional training from Boston University, Elon University, and the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Hi! My name is Mirella. I am a certified teacher both in Italy (where I come from) and in the US (where I currently live). I have over 15 years of experience teaching a highly diverse student population.
My classes are conducted in Italian with some English (used mostly in the beginning as a support). I train students to conceptualize in Italian rather than translate or substitute words: as students learn, for example, "Buon giorno. Come stai?" at their first lesson, there is no longer a need to translate it as "Good morning. How are you?" With this approach, vocabulary enrichment grows throughout the course. I strongly emphasize conversation (with a continued focus on pronunciation and inflection) and cultural knowledge over grammar and syntactical studies.

About mirella

Hi there!
My name is Mirella, I am Italian and live in Baltimore, MD. I am an excellent teacher of Conversational Italian, I have many students whom I teach in school and privately, in person and on-line.
I am fun, understanding and flexible, and more than anything else, I 'll guide you along your language journey with inspiration and knowledge, letting you set the general direction, but never letting go of the wheel myself.
As I spend time getting to know your strengths and weaknesses, I can optimize the time in class and outside of class. I will praise every little effort that you make, and I'll drill you on things I know you struggle with.
I am currently available for on-line and in person lessons. Please feel free to review my information (about my education – I am a PhD graduate -, my accreditations – I am a licensed teacher –

or my certifications – I am ACTFL certified -) on my profile and contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
I am looking forward to knowing more about you.
Ciao, Mirella

Mirella is an amazing teacher who takes a highly personalized approach to her lessons, which not many teachers are able to do, especially online. I think that my lessons with Mirella were much more productive as a result of her attention to my strength and weaknesses.

Mirella is an amazing language instructor. I had studied Italian for a few years many years ago and was very nervous to start again, but I needed to show intermediate Italian abilities for my work. Mirella's warm personality and student-centered teaching style really put me at ease and unlocked my hidden intuitive foreign language energies and abilities. For Mirella, language is all about communication, and the realization under Mirella's guidance that we all know how to communicate--even if only roughly at first in a new language--greatly diminished my anxiety and self-consciousness at making inevitable mistakes. I looked forward to Mirella's lessons as a highlight of my week, with tremendous results!

I started teaching Italian in 1985, in McAllen, Texas, as a private tutor. I again kept tutoring Italian, this time for freshmen college students in Sugar Land, Texas in 2015. I am an Italian native speaker, and at the present time I am writing short stories in Italian.

About Robert

My name is Robert M. I have a Spanish Teaching Degree from The Netherlands and I started teaching since 1973. I also have an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in Advertising Design from the Art Institute of Houston. I combine art with any language to teach children up to 2nd grade to make it fun. For any other student, I use my innovative method without books, some sites in the net and we immediately start speaking the language the student wants to learn. But I still have the best books on demand if needed. I customize my lessons to the needs of my students and I am available 24/7 for any questions to make it as easy as possible for my students, no matter their age. I make learning fun and interesting for all my students because I love what I am doing!

I have been taking lessons from Robert for about 6 months and it has been a great experience. Robert takes a very individualized approach and works incredibly hard both during and between lessons to make the lessons relevant to where I am both in terms of the level of content and making the topics covered interesting. It is also obvious that Robert is - at the end of it all - a really good person who is enjoyable to spend time with while learning about both language and culture.

"Sabrina is an excellent teacher. She is responsive, knowledgable, organized, and kind. My husband and I began our instruction in the classroom setting,
and we were so impressed with her skill that we migrated to private lessons. We enjoyed our lessons, and were assisted in our instruction with relevant handouts, homework, and of course, our emailed questions were always promptly answered. Highly recommended."

"My girls (8 and 11 years old) really enjoyed their lessons with Simona. She was able to structure the lessons to meet their individual needs and interest
s. One of my favorite moments was coming home from work to see yellow post it notes on many household appliances and furniture as she had the girls go label these items in Italian as a fun little "quiz". Simona was the perfect solution to introducing my girls to the language of their relatives. We'll be back once our schedule allows."

"I have always had difficulty learning a new language and the prospect of trying again was daunting but Massimo’s personality and approach immediately put
me at ease. From the very first lesson with Massimo it was clear to me that he has a passion to help students achieve their potential regardless of their level or ability. He is not your traditional tutor who simply teaches from a text book (i.e. my high school language teachers), but he incorporates the Italian culture into his lessons and makes learning fun! Not only is Massimo an excellent tutor but he is flexible. I am a working professional so there have been occasions when I could not make our session due to travel or meetings, he has always worked with me to reschedule, which has been essential in my progress. I cannot say enough about how great Massimo has been as a tutor. As a side note, his cooking is stupendous. I have not taken a cooking class (but that is on my bucket list) but I have had the pleasure of dining at his house with his family and it was truly an unforgettable meal."

"Fulvia has been our teacher now for 3 years. We wanted to learn Italian because we travel to Italy often.
Each lesson is well prepared and thought throu
gh by the teacher. Fulvia uses many different ways to make lessons fun and the language more approachable.
They include books, videos and interactive games etc. There is always a bit of homework to do to help follow up with the weekly lesson. She always finds ways to help us understand subjects that are challenging.
That Fulvia is a native speaker of the Italian language is a big bonus.
Fulvia is a great teacher and we highly recommend her."
