About Marcel
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching.
I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids.
Have a great day,
Marcel

Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.

I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

I love to sew! and have great joy in teaching the craft. I have been sewing since I was 7 years old, taught by my Grandmother.  A FIDM alumni, I worked in the garment industry designing jr. dresses and as a pattern maker, as well as a costume stylist for 14 years in film‚ television, and commercials.
Discovering the joy of sharing my love of sewing and years of experience, I started teaching children and adults. I enjoy the process of teaching and helping students explore their creative ideas while making a project come to life on the sewing machine.

Victoria was very knowledgable and friendly. She guided my daughter and I through the process of understanding the basics of starting a sewing project. We learned how to use a pattern to make a pair of pants and as a result discovered what works and what doesn't.

We were excited to have someone who understood our needs and was able to answer all of our questions.

By day I am a museum education professional and have worked in non-profit arts education for a decade. In my spare time I enjoy all things crafty, but embroidery is my true crafting love. I am a third generation embroiderer and sharing my enthusiasm with others is my great joy. I have an embroidery business called Lucky Little Sew and Sew that is mostly commissions for wedding, baby gifts and children's artwork. I am a lover of all things dainty and vintage and live in an embroidery filled apartment with my soon-to-be-husband and cat.
Whether you just want to learn how to make a specific embroidered piece, or you are looking to make this a full-blown hobby, I'm here for you. I love working with adults who are looking for a new hobby, or to refresh their knowledge from when they were younger. I have taught embroidery from ages 10-94, and
I am able to individualize instruction to make every student feel successful. If you are looking for lessons, but want to share the cost, I'd be happy to lead small group instruction for 2-3 friends. I am also available to lead a fun bridal shower, birthday party, or girlscout sewing badge activity.

I'm a class B (almost class A) player who has been playing chess seriously for just over a year, though I've been playing the game since I was a child. I regularly play in competitive over-the-board tournaments, as well as playing daily online. I have an International Master as a coach, so I am constantly learning myself and I understand what it's like to be a student of the game.
I can analyze student's games, identify weak areas of play, and develop a personalized routine to help you improve. Every day, I dedicate hours of studying to chess openings, tactics, chess history, endgames, and strategic concepts, and I am eager to teach this information to others.
