Whether you want to play Bach, bluegrass, or learn jazz method I'll get you started on the right track with the right practice habits.

Mandolin playing requires a knowledge of chords, melody, picking technique as well as knowing songs to play all of which we will begin to learn in your first lesson.

In addition to being a percussionist, I am also a mandolin player with experience playing Celtic, Bluegrass and Old Time music. With an emphasis on rhythm and technique I can help take your mandolining to the next level!

I have been teaching mandolin lesson for almost 18 years.
Students will learn everything from the ground up. While they move from one skill level to the next, instruction will include not only learning how to play their mandolin, but instrument and equipment maintenance, passing a proficiency exam at the end of each session

.I can show you how to read notes, tabs and charts, play by ear and play like a pro.

I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument within the context of a relaxed and patient environment that promotes a love of music!

I achieve this by:

1) Individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners.

2) Ensuring that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument and being able to play in a variety of settings.
