I played violin for fourteen years and picked up bass six years ago. I love any song with a good bass line. I have trained many zero experience peers to play violin as well as bass. It's the same thing just mutated a bit hah. Whether you want the full music theory, along with reading notes, or just learn how to jam, I can make that happen!
In my bass career I have played many many shows and have been in a band featured on the radio. Anyone could reach that level with some good practice and a little bit of passion. I am super passionate about music. Particularly, I love funk bass, as in my opinion that is the genre that really shows off what a good bass can really do. I specialize in jazz, funk and blues. I can help with techniques for other styles as well as for instance metal is like classical musical in many ways and classical music is my where I began.
I will keep the process of turning you into a groove master exciting and educational. You won't even feel the pain ...

About Riley

I am an established musician having played violin in Orchestras for fourteen years led by many experienced conductors as well as six years of experience playing bass guitar. I have played in Carnegie Hall, NY and the studio of the alternative radio station 91x. I have been in the strict classica

I had my first lesson today. Cris is the real deal. He is an excellent guitar player and was able to coax what little skill and talent I possess into a formidable lesson early on. I'll be booking my Son along with myself and returning. We are blessed to have someone in the Rancho Bernardo/Rancho Penaquitos area like Cris!

Learn multiple styles of bass including Blues, Rock, Country and along with the theory necessary to create your own bass parts.

About Richard

I have studied, performed and taught music for over 30 years. Accordion was my first instrument at age 7 which was a great introduction to the keyboard, melody and harmony. That was followed by guitar and other stringed instruments (Banjo, Ukulele) as well as drums. I studied with great teachers

It's nice having a pro like Richard customize the lessons because he creates a greater understanding of music theory as a whole and then can bring it back down to a specific application like practicing scales with a clawhammer technique. I can tell he's gradually moving me along to meet my personal goals. You can't get that out of a book or a video.
Janice
I had a wonderful first lesson with Richard. It was fun and he taught me exercises that I can actually do and really make music right off the bat. I was scared that I'd be overwhelmed and not be able to do anything right but Richard broke things down into small steps that were easy to follow. I'm really looking forward to my next lesson. Thanks Richard!

Very patient, personable, professional, and purposeful. Each lesson is packed full of building blocks for dexterity and familiarity with the instrument.

"Mark is a fantastic instructor, he is super patient and understanding with my complete lack of knowledge about anything guitar related. Would recommend Mark to anybody starting out, or anybody experienced. He has a wealth of knowledge about music, music history and guitars. He keeps the lessons interesting and fun, while also challenging."

"Mark is an amazing guitar teacher! He is really patient when it comes to teaching me but he is also an amazing guitarist and is always teaching me new stuff. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher. As a beginner, I was slightly hesitant to take up the guitar but I'm really glad I found him as a teacher because I see how much I'm improving each week - only because of his guidance and expertise!"

About Mark

Mark is an American composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer. I started teaching private music lessons my senior year of high school, in 2006. Since then I've taught over 50 different students of all ages from 3 years old to 61 years old. While still living in Ohi

"Nathaniel taught my son who was a beginning player on the bass guitar. I couldn't be more please with the results. Nathaniel did all the normal teacher stuff--had a plan, had prepared goals, gave music homework, was timely--but on top of that he had a friendly, inviting personality that invited my son to want to spend time learning music. It was Nathaniel's happy, inviting attitude that really made things click during my son's lessons and I'm thankful he was willing to take him in as one of his students."

"Jake is such a good instructor! He's not just teaching me how to play individual songs, he's getting into the fundamentals of music theory and how music *works*. I learned more in one lesson than I learned in six months trying to figure it out on my own. He's good at finding fun songs at my skill level that push me through to the next level. I look forward to these lessons every week!"

It is found most commonly in blues and jazz, but as you learn bass guitar, you will hear its influence in almost any style of music. A walking bass line provides a strong rhythmic and harmonic foundation by smoothly moving from each chord to the next using four quarter notes pe …
