Edwin is a fantastic teacher and so patient. I am amazed at how much my son has learned in just a couple lessons.

Had an excellent initial discussion with my instructor, Edwin, today. It was big picture but at the same time Edwin’s comments & suggestions gave me confidence in his command of the art (engineering, arrangement, composition & structure, and playing techniques), all the things I’m going to need help with to take my musical projects to another level.

Edwin is chill, flexible, and conveys a ton of relevant practice tips every lesson.

I've been taking lessons with Jonah for 6 years now (4th-10th grade) and the experience has been amazing! With Jonah's help, I have learned so much about the guitar, both in technical aspects and in simply "jamming." Jonah is always very patient, kind, encouraging, and his passion for music very clearly shows in his teaching. Every lesson I take is very enjoyable, and I always come out of the lessons feeling like I have made good progress on whatever it was we were working on that week. Whether you wish to learn about complex music theory and lead guitar (like I am currently doing), or just want to learn how to play a few songs, Jonah is a perfect choice as a teacher. Additionally, Jonah is very communicative and flexible with timing. Whenever I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson for whatever reason, Jonah responds to my messages quickly and is almost always able to find another day that week for our lesson to take place on. 5 stars, fantastic teacher, I highly recommend Jonah!

Johah is very patient and flexible. He identifies and is willing to work on techniques, such as barre chords, in a way that finally helps me to stop the buzzing! I am looking forward to working with him.

My 15 year old son has been taking virtual guitar lessons with Jonah and has loved it. Jonah is a great teacher who really gets on my son’s level and connects. It’s a fun thing for him to do during this strange year.

Nils is an extremely knowledgeable and accomplished instructor. He has extraordinary patience and excellent teaching skills. Coming from an adult student with high expectations, Nils has constantly delivered instructional value far beyond beyond what my paid "app" lessons were able to teach me. I highly recommend you give Nils a shot if you want to take your guitar playing to the next level.

Nils is extremely knowledgeable and explains concepts thoroughly and patiently. He’s very much mastered both teaching and performing his craft and is equal parts artistic and technicality minded, a balance most of my previous creative instructors lacked, and one I believe plays an integral part in teaching a craft well.

Almost all forms popular music in America got it's start in the blues. Musical genres such as both jazz and rock have their roots deeply in the blues. Some blues songs, such as Stormy Monday by T. Bone Walker were using basic blues chord patterns, but then on the 6th measure of each verse, T Bone would throw in a standard jazz chord progression. G9, Am7, Bm7, Bb13, Am7, D7b9, G9, followed by C9 back to the G9 and then the verse would end on a dominant 5th chord with a #9th, [D7#9]. This is where the 2 genres sometimes started to really mix with each other. Blues is the foundation where this all began. Rock and roll on the other hand, stayed closer to older and simpler blues chord progressions and licks, but played the tempos far quicker than a blues song would play, and the rhythm section would also play a lot more aggressively than a blues band would. Early rock and roll stayed very close to the original and more simple chord progressions of the earlier blues songs.

I have been seeing Jeff for about 3 years. I was an old folkie - with no time to practice - for about 50 years, but finally my wife bought me some lessons when I retired. Hit it off with Jeff immediately. He really knows the music I want - which in my case is classic rock - but he can do pretty much anything you need. Still give him 5 stars!

I immediately felt at ease with Jeff and it did not take him long to figure me out and point me in the right direction. Looking forward to many more lessons with him. I wish I lived here so it could be on a more regular basis. But happy with what I CAN get. Thanks Jeff!

My Aunty is turning 80 this weekend and I decided to learn how to play Happy Birthday on the ukulele as a surprise for her. Jeff not only helped me accomplish my goal but also got me started on other songs as well. His patience and enthusiastic personality made the lessons not ony productive but personable as well!!! 2 thumbs up to an awesome instructor!!!!!

"I chose to take up the guitar later in life (after retirement). I did not read music nor did I feel that I had any rhythm. William was extremely patient with me and brought me to levels that far exceeded my expectations. William has a rare ability to be able to put a person at ease and reduce their tension level. Sometimes it was through playing and sometimes through playing. He was able to read my apprehension level very well and seemed to always choose the correct method. I moved away from the area and thus far have not found a guitar teacher with the same abilities. Regardless of age or ability, I would recommend William to anyone. Were it not so expensive I would gladly fly back to Phoenix once a week to continue my lessons with William."

"I have been studying with Ahmad for just about 2 months. But that's enough for me to say he is an awesome guitar teacher. I think his teaching experience and method is a huge advantage for people who need professional guidance.

I was self-teaching for about a year before I came to Ahmad. It worked out just fine. I learned something. But I started to get confused at a point where I don't know how to move forward. I like a very specific group of guitarist (mostly Japanese fingerstyle players). And I wanted to learn how to master songs from those guitarist. And there is no such website or book that would teach me how to do that. Most of the guitar books or websites either give out general informations or put all information together as a mess.

Finally I decided to find a teacher. I found the lesson with Ahmad pretty effective. He is an experienced teacher who knows what you need to learn in order to achieve your goal. He has plenty of handouts that really helps me practice. The most important thing I learned from him is the big picture of guitar learning. For example, I learned the connection between scales and chords, why/how to improvise with these, how to go from there to other relevant things, etc.

When I look back over a year, I realize I have wasted some much time and effort trying to teach myself and wish it could have similar outcome as having a good teacher. Studying with Ahmad saves me so much time and effort (because it's actually easier!)"

I have always been afraid of the guitar but the man has cured my guitar phobia. He has made learning the guitar approachable and fun!!"

Ready to learn to play blues guitar? This lesson from guitar teacher James W. is the perfect place to start... What is a shuffle, anyway? A shuffle is a rhythm of 8th notes played in triplets, essentially playing 3/4 time over a 4/4 beat to make the music swing. Blues, pop, jazz, and rock musicians all use the shuffle. The blues shuffle is a fun pattern that is simple to absorb into your playing across many genres of music. 5 Blues Guitar Secrets That Will Make You a Better Player

Learning how to play blues guitar? Pay extra attention to these five things from guitar teacher Mike B.... 1. In Tune Bends The blues guitar style is full of bending strings. Bends, as well as hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides, give guitarists the ability to imitate the way singers use various inflections while singing melodies. However, unlike hammers-ons and slides, bends are not guaranteed to be in tune. Since there is nothing worse than an out-of-tune bend in the climax of a great solo …
