I also know that when a student practices, it heightens their enjoyment of music because it is far more fulfilling. I can guarantee that if you work with me as hard as I work with a student, you will feel excellent about your progress and ability! Piano is my main instrument and the one I enjoy teaching the most. I think it is approachable, versatile, and immensely rewarding. I recommend piano lessons to anyone with an interest in music, as it is an amazing tool and perfect foundation for studying music.

IMPORTANT NOTE: My availability is very limited right now due to the amount of students I have, however please don't hesitate to message me requesting specific times that are currently unavailable -- I can often shuffle things around to accommodate different scheduling needs.

About Christopher
pianomancan.com

My name is Christopher, or Chris for short. I am a composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist, and private tutor. I have taught private lessons in classical and contemporary piano performance, vocal performance, guitar performance, music theory, and musicianship to local students for the past 10 years. I currently have nearly 40 weekly students all over Ventura County. I attended CSUN's school of music where I received my Bachelor's of Music in Music Composition. My other experience includes teaching at 2 different music studios (Perry Music Studios and Brookyln's Conservatory of Music), teaching Confirmation classes to teenagers at St. Jude's Catholic Church, and teaching English to Japanese high school students through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

My philosophy when it comes to doing anythi
ng with music is that it should be fun! Whether you're practicing a piece, playing with a band, writing something new, or even learning music theory, music is primarily about enjoying yourself and the others around you.

The best way to ensure that you enjoy yourself is to learn what you want to learn and play what you want to play. In addition to a standard curriculum, I want you to tell me what kind of music you're interested in and what kind of pieces you want to play! Do you love classic rock? Do you love pop? Blues? Jazz? Folk tunes? Opera? Or maybe you're a fan of the classical masters? Whatever the case may be, my number one goal is to make sure you're having fun while you develop your new talents.

I'm comfortable teaching students as young as 7 years of age, although I can teach even younger if they are especially well-behaved.

I really like working with Chris a lot for several reasons. First he is a very kind & enthusiastic teacher who is always very cheerful and always brings his best to the lessons. As an adult student, I'm not very confident about myself. He has helped to bring that confidence back. He was able to help me tackle the speed problem for a piece of music that I was having trouble with for a long time. And with just a few words of advice, he was able to help me fix the problem right away. Chris is truly a fantastic teacher! I'm glad to be his student.

We purchased a 12-lesson package for my daughter as a Christmas Gift. My daughter is 14 years old, and after completing these lessons her love for music has grown. She had only taken a beginner's level course in piano and guitar prior to working with Mauricio. My daughter looked forward to every lesson, and would come home to keep practicing and improving her skills. We plan to work with Mauricio again in the near future and would highly recommend him!

I emphasize developing a strong foundation in technique and ear training that will carry over to any musical genre, from world-renowned classical repertoire, to classic rock, jazz, and folk, to children's songs or your favorite radio hits from today.
I am dedicated to unlocking every student's musical potential, at any age or experience level, whether the student is just beginning to explore the keyboard or is preparing for an important audition. But more than experience and insight, I teach students to use music as a vehicle for creativity and expression, and develop a sense of true musicianship that goes beyond playing all the correct notes and the right time.

About Lilia
Hello, my name is Lilia and I can't wait to meet you! I have over a decade experience in teaching and offer private lessons in guitar, piano, and voice with a balance between theory, technique, and and ear training to help you play the songs you love to listen to.

In addition t
o teaching, I play the role of as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and composer in my rock band, called Karkaza. We are currently working on recording our debut album and playing shows in the greater Los Angles area.

Piano lessons with me will cover 3 main things:

Theory - reading music, rhythms, etc...all the building blocks that make up music.
Technique - taught with warmups, to be incorporated and reinforced in pieces.
Musicianship - how to play a piece of music expressively!

While each lesson is tailored to each individual, a typical lesson will begin with a warmup, incorporating both technique and theory; next we usually move on to the pieces that the student is working on. Students often work on two at once--one is in the process of being polished and the focus is musicianship, and another will be new so the focus will be on the mechanics and make up of the piece. At the end I like to wrap up with theory, which is usually a written assignment out of a theory book.

During the lesson I takes notes on a Daily Practice Sheet template, writing down each item we covered and leaving detailed instructions on how to practice (I'm a big fan of isolating trouble spot in order to tackle them--divide ...

About Rosalie
I have been playing music and singing for as long as I can remember. My mother is a piano teacher so I grew up listening to piano and I started lessons with her when I was 4 years old. I learned through the Suzuki method, so I was constantly listening and singing along to music. I've performed solo, competed, performed in duets and trios, accompanied singers...been the singer someone else is accompanying...often I do both at the same time.
While I focused on piano I also sang in choirs, plays, camps, etc. At age 14 I started taking private voice lessons--I had decided that I was serious about it, and ready to trade in my private cello lessons for voice lessons. I studied voice all throughout college covering opera, musical theatre (what I'm most passionate about), jazz, and pop. I've performed in multiple choirs, musicals, cabarets, and
a cappella groups.
