About David
I have been a working musician and occasional private music teacher for over 40 years. During that time I had a career in the professional audio and video industry, during which I learned how to successfully deal with people. I recently returned to school and completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree at CSU Sacramento. My goal is to bring excitement and enthusiasm for music and playing an instrument to my students, and to create musicians who will make and enjoy music throughout their lives. I play guitar, bass guitar and flute, and enjoy teaching all of them to all age groups.

*** Lesson Details ***
Playing music is supposed to be fun. Lessons include playing, so they should be fun as well. My lessons are both focused and fun. I believe you get out of music what you put in. If a student doesn't practice in between lesso
ns, I will know. If a student does practice, I will know that as well. My lessons stress not only what to practice, but how. In 3-6 months, the beginning student can expect to be able to make a pleasing sound on the instrument, and be able to play beginning repertoire. Most importantly, the student will be able to play well enough to enjoy the instrument, which inevitably leads to more productive practice and continued improvement. This continued improvement is what lessons are all about.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If I travel to a student's home, I will bring my instrument only. I expect the student to provide all other equipment necessary for the lesson.

*** Specialties ***
Folk guitar, rock and roll and blues bass, classical flute, analog and digital recording, music theory

David is a great teacher. We spent a lot of the lesson working on duets. He is very patient. He took the time to see where my strengths and weaknesses are and gave me exercises to build on the strengths and work on the weaknesses. I would definitely recommend David as a flute instructor for any age or ability.

About Colin
I'm a life-long musician with a passion for the art and a love of teaching it. In 2012, I graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelors in Music. Through my schooling and personal study, I have become a well-rounded musician able to teach many instruments effectively. Making music with others at a high level, teaching, and having the opportunity to perform professionally around the Sacramento area has been a great experience. I look forward to continuing that journey, growing as a person and musician, and being a positive role-model for others!

I've been playing trumpet nearly my entire life, and studied it in college. However, I am a multi-instrumentalist and currently teach trumpet, guitar, piano, and trombone. I specialize in classical style, but can also teach jazz theory, correct swing style, articulation, etc. I have
studied with multiple music professors and have learned their most effective teaching methods. I have taken music theory classes that allow me to explain theory in a simplified manner to students. I have been playing guitar since high school and have taken many piano classes while in school, where proficiency is necessary in order to advance in the major. In my free time, I even play drums and multiple other instruments and listen to music constantly. Music is very much my life. This allows me the versatility to teach a variety of instruments and mold myself and my students into well-rounded musicians.

Colin has helped Christian improve greatly in a short amount of time. Beginner trumpet- he had pressure problems and embouchure adjustments to make. His notes were too low when playing per his band teacher, so I found Colin to help. So glad we did, would highly recommend him.

Hi, there! My name is Laura and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2002 and have loved helping my students learn both technique and theory as I seek to motivate them to play the best that they can and to instill a love for music. Although I do not hold a degree in music, I was trained to teach by a former music instructor from the University of the Pacific. I have been playing the piano for 37 years and I am looking forward to passing my knowledge onto you and helping you reach your goals!

Laura is the BEST instructor I could ever hope for as an adult learning to play piano! She is so patient, kind and encouraging. There are times, when I don't feel that I am able to learn to play, but I always leave her lesson with a renewed sense that I CAN do it and I feel so much better, ready to keep practicing!

Hi! My name is Pam. If you have a song in your heart , a love for music and a desire to sing, let me show you how you can sing your best. If you want to expand your range and to develop a strong voice with no breaks, I can definitely help you. It took years to find a mature, experienced teacher who understood how to use good vocal technique to help me express my artistic musicality.

After more than 20 years of teaching and performing, I know how to teach a successful vocal technique that works. I want to share the knowledge and technique I have acquired with you. Let me help you develop your voice to its fullest potential.

I teach a comprehensive course of study. It includes classical vocal techniques to improve range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, diction and beginning music theory. My formal education i
ncludes Leonard Davis Center of Performing Arts Bachelor of Arts Degree - Music Major from the City University of New York, Masters degree in Education, and opera workshops and private lessons from Judith Raskin, Soprano and Mario Berini, Tenor of the Metropolitan Opera.

Now's the time to make it happen. If you register with me at the Take Lessons office we can get started this week.!

When I came to Pamela for voice instruction I had a limited range. There were lots of songs I wanted to sing but because I had a low voice I couldn't reach the high notes. Pamela showed me how to use breath support breathing and how to sing the vowels of every word so that the songs flow. Also I have more confidence in my singing now and I am making really fast progress.
