I learned violin when I was 5 under the Suzuki method. It worked well for me especially in getting the techniques. I find over the years of my teaching, it has been an effective method for my beginners and intermediate violin students. I teach them techniques along with musicianship, i. e. things must know to be a good musician.

About Celine
I hold a MA in Piano Performance from Azusa Pacific University. I have been teaching piano for all ages and all levels since 2002. I had formal training in Suzuki pedagogy method from the Suzuki certified trainer. Over the last ten years, I have been integrating Suzuki method with various modern piano pedagogies to teach beginners and received positive feedback from students and parents. I believe that students under my integrated method usually progress much faster than the ones under traditional Suzuki method.

In addition to piano teaching, I also teach all levels of accordion and violin (Suzuki Method).

I am patient, friendly, cheerful and good at customizing my lessons to meet individual student's needs. I believe all students have potential to master skills as long as they have strong self-discipline, perseverance and supporti
ve family and good teachers.

I welcome all of students and parents to contact me to start a joyful learning journey with me. You will get your time and money worth!

Celine is a wonderful piano teacher! She is patient, works well with children, and is truly dedicated to developing her students. My 6-year-old son had no musical background and she has since taught him how to sight-read in a short amount of time! She encourages a little bit of music book homework, helps with posture, finger positioning, proper technique, etc. and makes each lessons fun and enjoyable. She is an expert in everything music and is very responsive to any questions I have. My son looks forward to each of his lessons. I highly recommend Celine!

Experienced teacher of 30 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages. I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical skills. I specialize in classical music and provide multiple playing opportunities for my students throughout the year.

About Angela
EDUCATION

My musical education began while sitting on my mother's lap as she taught piano lessons. I began studying cello with a member of the Kansas City Philharmonic at age 9, and at age ten, I followed in my mother's footsteps to play the flute. I played all three instruments, (piano, cello and flute) until high school when it was became clear to me that I wanted to be an orchestra teacher. With this dream in mind, I began playing the violin as well.
I graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor's in Music Education in 1989 and again in 1999 with a Master's degree.

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE

As a youngster, I was the youngest member of the Kansas City Youth Symphony and the Kansas City Cello Choir performing with these two groups for eight years. I was chosen from applicants nation wide, to perform in Carnegie Hall and trav
el Europe with "America's Youth in Concert" and I was a three time All-Stater.

While attending Drake University, I played in the Drake University Orchestra and the Des Moines Symphony, and I was the winner of the Young Artist Competition awarding me the honor as featured soloist with the Drake Symphony Orchestra.
In 1993 I began playing with the Encore String Trio. This trio plays on a regular basis for weddings and receptions.
I currently play cello in the Encore String Trio, and viola in the Long Beach Community Orchestra.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience includes nearly 30 years of private teaching. I've had the pleasure of teaching all areas of music; elementary general music, band, choir and orchestra. During my 20 years of teaching orchestra in the public schools, I implemented many innovative opportunities for my students such as children's concert which drew more than 700 people in attendance, strolling strings, cello choir and a viola choir, all of which proved to be very motivational for the students. My goal of teaching is to make music fun for all.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe music should be fun. I provide you with several playing opportunities throughout the year, ranging from solo to group playing. I provide large group playing opportunities at Christmas and at the recitals. Every group playing opportunity is accompanied with food and games for all. This studio is FUN!

*** Lesson Details ***
Whether you are studying for recitals, competitions, a music career or just for fun, you can expect equal attention to technique and musicianship in your lessons.
Lessons will be tailored to each students needs which may include flash cards, supplemental materials, ear training, sight reading, technical studies, scales, and solo work.
You are never to old to learn to play an instrument. Over half of my students are adult beginners. Because of this, I provide group playing opportunities and I organize a solo ensemble contest for my students. This gives opportunities to the adult beginners that they missed out on as a child. You will have a lesson by yourself, monthly mini recitals in my studio, and you will have the opportunity to play orchestra music as a group all right here in my studio. You are guaranteed to learn how to play your instrument, have fun and gain great friendships here in this studio. I'm looking forward to introducing you to our studio family.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The teachers studio is in a large room with multiple windows for natural light. The room includes instruments and stands in the middle of the room.

*** Specialties ***
I use the Suzuki method books. I am a classical player and I teach classical music.

I teach all levels!

About Travis
I grew up in Los Angeles and went on to attend the University of Redlands .While at University, I played in the University Orchestra and a variety of other ensembles. In addition to violin, I also studied jazz guitar, so classical music is definitely not the only musical style I am familiar with.

I am lucky enough to study with Tamsen Beseke, who is a member of the LA Opera and a prolific session musician. I have also studied with Jeanne Skrocki, who is currently the Concertmaster of the Redlands Symphony Orchestra and the Assistant Concertmaster of the Pacific Symphony.

My musical experience with violin is not confined to classical! I also have experience with other styles, including Irish folk music and bluegrass. While classical is my bread and butter, I can take a more rounded approach in terms of exposure to musical styles if
desired.

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to teaching lessons emphasizes making a friendly connection with my student. In my experience the student will learn the most when he or she feels comfortable asking questions and communicating with the instructor. I want my student to have fun and feel like progress is being made!

For beginners, the very first thing we go over is proper posture and bow hold. From there, we will move on to musical examples and basic violin techniques. I also incorporate basic music theory concepts into my lessons as needed. I have a strong grasp of that topic, and can teach my students more about it as necessary.

The materials I use include Suzuki(my favorite), String Builder, Laoureux, among others. I learned from a variety of materials in my lessons, and I find that great results come from using the best parts of multiple sources of materials.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The studio: lessons are taught in the living room. The student is expected to provide his or her own violin. Music stands are available. Parking is on the street.

Local Park: the lessons are in the community recreation center in a separate rehearsal room.

Seating is available at both locations.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide all printed materials, but I ask that my students to have their own violin.

*** Specialties ***
Classical, Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz

Recently graduated from Juilliard, I've been teaching violin and viola for five years, and welcome students of all levels and ages. My background is firmly classical, but additionally I also love fiddle music and give students songs from many genres to learn, arranging upon request. I'm currently a doctoral student at USC, and I work part-time locally as a violinist in the YMF Debut Orchestra. I am also glad to help students with recording, video editing and social media.

About Alexander
As a violin teacher, I always aim to set goals for students, to guide students towards them, and to be direct as possible so far as is appropriate. I also try to stay results-oriented throughout the process. Even if not all of a student’s progress is directly attributable to me, the most important thing was that he improve. I teach from the personal perspective of a traditional, technically founded approach to classical music, but I also love to arrange simple songs from any genre for each student, chosen by me or upon request. On the side, I enjoy playing fiddle music with my family and friends.
As a math and standardized test tutor, I strive to stay results-oriented and based around the student's needs. In past experience as a tutor in college, where I was an undergraduate math major, I would often see shortcuts to problems that to me
were simpler than the methods taught in class, but I became acutely aware of the need to approach learning from students' point of view in addition to my own. Putting students first calls me to help them directly with their needs and to meet them where they are.

Hello! My name is Taylor and I'm so thrilled that you're interested in the violin! The violin is the most popular of the classical stringed instruments, therefore it is seen and heard in multiple different areas, such as orchestras, movies, video games, and even music you hear on the radio. Although it is very competitive in the world of violin, it is still an instrument that anyone can enjoy, no matter what you decide to do with it. In our lessons, I will make sure that your abilities and interest in the violin are nurtured and increased through our incorporation of technical, musical, and theoretical aspects. We will build your foundations and help you achieve whatever it is you want to do, whether it be getting into an outside orchestra or just improving your abilities. As we build your technique, we will also learn music that will further challenge your new abilities, but that is also something you want to learn. Hello! My name is Taylor and I'm so glad that you're interested in music! Here's a little bit about myself. I am currently enrolled at CSULB as a junior and I am double majoring in viola performance and music education. I have been playing violin for nine years, and I have been playing viola for four years, both with private instruction. Along with violin and viola, I also play cello, French horn, marching percussion, mallet percussion, piano, and guitar. Along with enrolling in and passing seven AP classes in high school, I was part of the marching band and winter drumline along with an outside orchestra that allowed for me to perform solos across the US and Europe. I have performed music at Disneyland, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Segerstrom, the 2012 Olympic Games in London, multiple churches and cas

Music is my passion and gives me an outlet for expression no matter how I'm feeling. Aside from music, school is very important to me, and I am proud to say that my GPA is a 3.93.
