I have been teaching the wonderful instrument of the piano for four years.

For children, I use the Alfred Piano Series lesson books that includes lessons and homework in a fun and engaging way to promote retention.

For beginners, I use the publication A New Approach to Keyboard Harmony to learn chord progressions, sequences, modulations, realization of both figured and un-figured basses, basic improvisation, and score reading. Learning these techniques will help transition students seamlessly to various styles and genres that incorporate the piano, helping you learn and love the piano without frustrating stoppages that often lead us away from lesson continuity.

From there, I utilize the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library series to promote chord inversion, syncopation, arpeggiation, pedaling, and key centering.

About Milton
Hey there, everyone!

My name is Milton Carl Jackson II and I teach vocal, guitar, piano, and musical theatre lessons in the Inland Empire area.

I help those young, middle-aged, and not-as-young tap into their own soul through music so that they may help others find theirs as well. I believe that in order to entertain others with your voice or your instrument, one must first be able to entertain oneself - all the while having fun doing it! As a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis with a double major in Music History & Ethnomusicology and African-American & African Studies; a former co-host of the popular hip-hop radio show ATF Radio: All Things Fresh on KDVS 90.3 FM; a former Music Director of The Afterglow of UC Davis; and a recently graduate of the University of Redlands with a Master's in Music Education, I hav
e come in contact and learned from a vast amount of different musicians and professionals. A classically-trained bass-baritone with roots in R&B, Soul, Rock, Pop, and Jazz, I have aspirations to help each and every student realize their full musical potential.

If you're looking for a teacher who will motivate and inspire you not only to learn your instrument of choice, but also how to perform it (whether on the big stage or in your living room for the family) and record it as well, I'm the perfect teacher for you. Learning to sing, play, and act beautifully doesn't have to be difficult -- we'll work on finding your voice or your style, all while having fun along the way!

I teach in-studio, in-home, and online lessons, so we can be flexible with the lesson type and schedule!

This is a perfect chance for you or your child who can't stop singing around the house or has dreams of shredding on the guitar or twinkling on the ivories to learn the fundamentals of music, start something new that keeps them or you focused, and have fun while doing it!

Feel free to contact me at show contact info for any questions and check out my student reviews and qualifications.

I look forward to meeting you and accompanying you or your child on your musical journey!!

About Chris
Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!

I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.

Alas!

As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.

Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to ha
ve as these things are important regardless of your favorite music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.

Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.

Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.

We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*

By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar/violin students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will bring picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.

*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin. I have also studied Irish and Celtic folk music for instruments such as Mandolin and Violin.

About Rhonda
With over 20 years of experience as a musician, piano teacher, and music director, I am able to explore all aspects of musical theory and make the piano an enjoyable and exciting instrument to learn to play.

My lessons will be rhythmically exciting, and never boring. I always have book lessons as well as personal musical pieces that the student would like to work on. I most often will incorporate ear training in all of my lessons without being obvious about it, as well as performance. I believe it should be music that speaks to the heart.

Not only will students achieve their goals in learning to play their favorite song or actually play well, they will find a peace and a calm in freely exploring the art of music. Whether they find it to be an escape from it all, or their future with a musical career, it shall be achieved.

D
id you know that a troubled child can find rest and recovery from getting involved in the arts, especially that of the piano? Did you know that as a remedy from feeling despair and hopelessness, the piano is a proven healer? Wouldn't you like to play a song to a friend or a neighbor and make them feel better today? TAKE PIANO LESSONS!!... YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY...

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living Room: 3 pianos (upright piano and 2 digital 88 keys weighted). Microphones, amps. Music stands, additional seating for parents.

I have a Roland-88 key traveling digital piano instrument. This can go wherever I go. I also own a Technics Digital piano that has all sound capabilities and recording features. I actually have been playing and performing on the Piano longer than the Guitar- since I was 10 years old. I have a lot of knowledge that will help you to understand the instrument better and sharpen your Piano skills. I will assist in your sight reading, song creativity, building up a solid repertoire, technique, comprehending music theory, etc. We will strengthen any area any area you are looking to develop.

About David
A fun, friendly, and professional Music Instructor at your service for Guitar, Piano, Voice, Bass, & Drums! I have a BA degree from Florida Atlantic University in Music Performance for Classical/Flamenco/Jazz/Blues guitar and I've also performed on the Piano/Keyboards for a couple different bands too. Presently, going back to School to earn a Master's in Music. Love to play & teach pretty much all styles of music! It is always a pure joy & truly rewarding to see my music students grow and flourish as musicians. I have been enjoying doing this now for 16 years- all ages & levels. I am also in a multi-dimensional rock project and am a recording artist-

I believe it's important to learn the rudiments of music to build a good foundation (scales, chord vocabulary, theory, song-composition, performing techniques), but I also base the less
ons on whatever the interests and strengths are for the student. For example, if you enjoy jazz more than classical we'll focus more on what you are particularly passionate about. I have also been a part of School of Rock Programs in which we provided performances for the students a la Jack Black. Please contact Takelessons to let the musical journey begin...

I am most comfortable using simple methods for teaching children. The student will become acclimated to the instrument and move through recognized, engaging study materials some of which have prerecorded tracks for the student to listen to at home.

About Anthony
I was originally trained on Saxophone, Voice and basic piano skills at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. My professional experience has been working as a traveling house band for the Ted Allen Agency in Chicago as well as numerous types of classic rock, fusion rock, jazz, jazz standards and fusion jazz and wedding bands. I'm currently studying at Miracosta Community College to complete my music degree to advance to a 4 year University in Music Education. I have been requested to play baritone sax in the Miracosta Oceanside Jazz Orchestra (MOJO) and also play with the Collective a smaller jazz ensemble taught by Steve Torok. This year I have been teaching before and after school music classes with children from 8 to 13. Our focus has been elementary training incorporating basic music theory, harmony and rhythm as well as instruments such
as clarinet and flute as well as sax.
