Johan is great with kids! My son is a very active child, and he was able to make the lesson fun and engaging. More than that, I enjoyed seeing Johan be creative, listen to the child, and make music fun, more than being it a lesson (per say). I highly recommend Johan!

I've been performing music for over 15 years. I've been teaching guitar for the past three years. I like keeping guitar fun! I will work with each student's individual needs and goals. I like all kinds of music and styles so don't feel embarrassed if you wanna learn a Taylor Swift song or Old Town Road. I like pursuing what the student is interested in while still teaching essential skills like strumming, note reading, chords, picking, etc. Reach out and lets chat about guitar!

About Luke

I grew up in Beaufort, South Carolina, picking up the guitar and bass at age 13. Before that, I had a strong interest in all types of music. After learning the basics on guitar, I formed a band in my tiny hometown, constantly learning and writing songs. For college, I went to Western Washington

Luke is a very kind and thoughtful teacher! He made the lesson fun and education and I left each day with something new to practice! He found the best way to teach me quickly and was overall a great teacher!

Luke is a wonderful guitar teacher for our 7 yr old. He has managed to keep her engaged and show her how to have fun with the guitar. Our daughter really wanted to learn but was very frustrated and disengaged with her previous teacher. Luke teaches her songs that she typically listens to, has introduced her to new music and is able to connect with her at her level. Even since COVID 19 and having to switch to Zoom lessons, they haven’t missed a beat. We see her growing and becoming more confident each week. We are so grateful to Luke for all that he has done!

I learnt music theory and improvisation with Charles for 4 months in New York.

Charles is highly approachable and extremely knowledgeable. He walks the perfect line between making his students feel comfortable whilst also pushing them to become better in every single session.

I got a solid grasp of the basics of music theory and was able to fully improvise in different scales at the end of the course. The growth I had was tremendous - all thanks to Charles' guidance.

Charles will take the time to fully understand the needs, goals and struggles of his students. He will be there for them inside and outside of class time because he genuinely cares about music and his students becoming better.

Super talented, yet super down to earth. Great teacher and ridiculously knowledgeable, yet super funny. I had been a self taught bass player for years before taking Charles' course at NYU and was hoping to try out a new instrument and learn it the "right way" through lessons, expecting things to be very academic. But Charles works in a way that is surprisingly individual-based, and so that while you do learn a lot, you do so at your own pace and having fun along the way. By blending your own formal course goals with his own knowledge and incredible feel for the instrument alongside the songs you want to learn (often times you learn them together- he is great at picking up new, unfamiliar tunes by ear) it creates an experience that keeps you picking up the guitar long after you leave the classroom. Where I am now with guitar and where I started at first are miles and miles apart thanks to him, and he's just a super chill guy who likes playing guitar. Who also happens to be ridiculously qualified. 10/10 would recommend.

After having played sax and flute for 7 years, I decided to start to learn the guitar during the quarantine. After a month of learning on my own and through apps, one of my good musician friends pushed me to seek out lessons. I had a few teachers in mind, but he told me that Charles would definitely be the best choice for me.
I have now been taking weekly lessons with him for the past three months, and my progress has skyrocketed. My guitar playing was quickly brought to the next level, and he also gave me a solid foundation in music theory that has helped me a lot on the sax and flute as well.
Charles is excellent at adapting to his student's needs and limitations. When I was traveling and had no access to a guitar, we had a lesson on facetime audio using my flute in the middle of a park, and that was one of the best I have ever had, even without video or the guitar.
Charles is a great teacher and also a great musical mentor. He will not let you stagnate, he will push you to reach your goals and provide you all the tools to do so. The homework he gives after each lesson also helps a lot to consistently reach the goals that have been set.
For any level, beginner, intermediate, or expert, I strongly recommend him to be your next guitar instructor.

"I've found Keith to be professional, good communicator and a great teacher for our 8 year old. He has patience and a real love for music and it shows. He is our first instructor so I don't have anything to compare him with but I do know people and feel great working with him. I forgot to mention, he has a little studio in his basement perfect for lessons.
I hope this helps anyone . Thx."

"I've always LOVED guitar... but I NEVER thought that I'd be playing it myself someday! That is until I found my music instructor Russell. I took up keys at first, but I felt this urge to want to learn the guitar. Russell is an awesome instructor, in fact he also taught my 7-8 yr. old (at the time) drums, which she picked up quick. He was always very patient, in fact he always walked in with a smile and a positive attitude, which is really important for parents of kids taking any kind of lessons. Anyway, back to the music, Russell is a multi-instumentalist and a fantastic producer and engineer as well, but I have to say that he is truly one with the guitar... so I was very lucky to learn from a pro but more importantly someone who is truly passionate about teaching. I have applied all the knowledge I've gained and applied it to my own music productions. Thanks to Russell, my musical compositions have grown tremendously. I love that I can learn new guitar songs and put techniques I've learned to good use, as well as with the keys! Thanks so much Russell!"
