Music
As a teacher, I try to make music learning as fun and well-rounded as possible. Every student is unique, and I try my best to accommodate every individual's needs. I encourage students to always ask questions, no matter how silly it might sound, and to trust me to help you achieve your goals. I encourage students to tell me their favorite songs and genre of music and use the knowledge to help keep them motivated, to remind them that learning is fun.
For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs.
I learn something new from every student, love seeing my students improve and gain confidence in themselves. I ask that students come with an open mind and be prepared to make mistakes because no piece is perfect and neither are lessons. Lessons give you the opportunity to make mistakes without judgement. You can trust me to always have a positive attitude, it is OK to make mistakes, but practice to play better, and enjoy the feedback to see yourself improve! Learning piano does not happen in a few lessons and is a lifelong rewarding process. I hope to see you treat music with respect, so let's make beautiful music together!
Dance
I also provide choreography for wedding dances (couples, father/daughter). My main focus is on the social aspect of Latin dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha cha. Thus, I will only take students who are able to go out dancing to studios, restaurants, and clubs, meaning 18+ individuals or groups. Every week, I will provide new, cool, and stimulating choreography that supplements technique while developing your own unique style. I love to see my students out on the dance floor, implementing moves learned and having fun! Dancing is a healthy, joyful activity. Get ready for a confidence boost and let's get your heart pumping!

Though I am strict when it comes to homework and their about their studies. Every lesson at the beginning I will review what we learned previously and test them.
then begin with proper breathing technique exercises, the cornerstone of all vocals. We move on to vocal exercises to condition the voice. Then we work on the songs that you are eager to sing!
I will use a piano when doing vocal warm ups and conditioning exercises. Students that play other instruments and accompany themselves when performing (such as a guitar) are encouraged to bring that instrument to their lessons. My goal is for them to gain the knowledge that they need to help reach their artistic goals.
With all my lessons every student will be taught a basic run down of Music Theory. My students will always progress in what they do. They will have the discipline that they need and yet have fun and be filled with inspiration. Which is the most important thing, to be Inspired to do better.

About Sol
TUTORING EXPERIENCE:
I have tutored students in the following subjects:
Basic Math
Algebra
Geometry
Trigonometry
Pre-Calculus
Calculus
Physics
INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE:
Most recently, I was employed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where I received several outstanding achievement awards. Previous industrial affiliations have included Digital Enterprises, Application Research Corporation, IBM and Hughes Aircraft Company.
My experience includes the application of mathematics and physics in computer based research and software development.
ABOUT ME:
I am a Caltech graduate now working as a professional Math/Science tutor. I live in West Los Angeles. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, both obtained at the Californ
TEACHING APPROACH:
I am very patient and methodical when it comes to teaching. I make the sessions fun and interesting. I explain concepts in ways that are easy to understand. My teaching approach often focuses on developing self confidence and motivation, and overcoming barriers to learning. I concentrate on viewing the subject matter from the student's point of view, and I teach using that as a guide.
I believe that with the right guidance, any student can achieve success in any subject. First and foremost, I care about my students. Their success is what makes me successful. I treat all students with respect.
TESTIMONIALS:
"My son's math scores were very low due to illness and missed school. We hired tutors in the past but it always ended with a lot of frustration and tears. When Sol started working with my son it was different from the very first session. Instead of tears and frustration I saw my son transformed to a happy confident teen that now enjoys math. It takes time, doesn't happen overnight. The difference in my child is priceless. Sol has a way about him that children respond to. As a parent I highly recommend Sol." ~ Ariel
“Sol is a wonderful Math tutor who really helped my daughter grasp Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus in a short time, which helped her improve her grade significantly! My daughter began the first semester of this school year (last Fall) confused, frustrated and hating her class. Within a few short months with Sol's help she is now feeling confident and able to understand the complexities of this Math class and navigates her way through the lessons and homework with ease and confidence! I can't thank Sol enough for his ability to teach and simplify a subject that gives so many kids nightmares! Thank you, Sol!!!” ~Marina
"Our daughter started working with Sol in the fall. She went from a 2 to a 5 on the Calculus BC AP test. Sol was very kind and patient. He was always punctual, and flexible about accommodating our schedule. Most importantly though, he was very creative and intuitive in helping our daughter. He analyzed the problems she was having and tailored the sessions to address her weaknesses. He did not come in with a set approach that he uses with every student. He was able to communicate well with our daughter and continued to adjust his help to address her changing needs. Sol seems to listen better than some tutors. He did a great job and we recommend him very highly." ~ Damon
"My daughter has been having trouble in math since second grade. I've been taking her to after-school classes, group tutoring and tutor programs but none of them really made much impact. By ninth grade, she was convinced she couldn't keep up with her classmates and (understandably) had an aversion to even trying. Thankfully, we found Sol, and she started working with him one-on-one, one to two hours a week. It's been a huge relief to see her go from so confused to having a good understanding of what she's doing. Sol has a way of just keeping a kid on track without pushing too hard, or wasting any time. He is always patient and just gets to work. He explains things clearly and provides study problems when necessary. Through working with Sol and practicing the specific types of problems that were the most difficult for her, my daughter is finally comfortable with math, and can keep up with her grade level. I recommend Sol very highly!" ~Abby
"Sol is patient, listens, is heart-felt, and he has addressed my needs (as I have some learning challenges) and he has demonstrated a willingness to find ways to present the information tailored to my strengths." ~ Jeannie
"Hi Sol!
Just wanted to tell you that I got an A on the final in math, as well as an overall A in the class! Thank you so much for everything, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without you!!" ~Shishi
"Please know that I really cherished our sessions--you're a great teacher and I enjoyed your company a lot. Hoping our paths cross again." ~Matthew
"Thank you, Sol,
For your thoroughness, and for your focus and gentleness. I'm so glad we found you." ~Abby
"Hey Sol,
Just wanted to let you know that I finished this semester with an A in the class! Thanks for all the help. I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without you. I plan to see you again this fall." ~Alonzo
"Exciting news - my daughter got 100% on her math test last week! This is amazing. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful teacher. All of her hard work with your help is paying off big time. She really enjoys working with you. We are lucky to have met you." ~ Nikki
“Sol!! Great news! I got into USC!!!
This is so amazing, this wouldn’t have been possible without you! Fight on!✌🏼❤️💛” ~Alonzo

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Elementary math is the 'bricks and mortar' that holds the foundations of mathematics together, allowing it to maintain its structural integrity from easy addition problems through the most daunting multi-variable calculus conundrums. In my lessons, I teach all of the fundamentals in a fun and energetic manner that makes it a breeze to understand and perfect. I show simplified ways to blast through the most tedious multiplication, division, subtraction and addition problems by applying various shortcuts and perks that exploit arithmetic. With my assistance, you are guaranteed to boost your grade school math scores to their capacity, as I demonstrate numerous arithmetic tactics: from quickly and accurately solving addition problems, to mitigating the dreaded, multiplication chart; together we will 'elucidate elementary math'.
About Amadou

I want to help students gain understanding into the problems they solve: I do not want to teach them simply how to solve problems, but more fundamentally why problems can be solved in particular ways. In doing so, I want to enable students to become true problem solvers who think logically and creatively.
About Wes
My students can expect to learn to think well about the subject we study together. We will not simply pursue the knowledge of how to, for example, solve some math problem, but we will also seek to understand why we can solve it this or that way. So, we will pursue both knowledge and understanding. When students have understanding, they are much better prepared to apply what they have learned to oth
