I am great at teaching math. It is a subject where I can directly help students to not only learn the math, but to become independent.

About Janice
After graduating with a BA from UC Berkeley, I have always worked with students, whether tutoring privately, teaching piano, or teaching in a classroom. I am very patient, positive and motivating. I have taken private piano lessons since I was 6 years old and have had 5 wonderful piano teachers throughout the years.

'Dr. Cliff,' a part-time college/university professor, teacher and tutor with 5 master's and 3 doctoral degrees in a variety of topics: Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA, Leadership, Education and Administration. He has always used proven educational techniques to instruct undergraduate students, graduate students and school children/teenagers (K-12). In addition, Dr. Cliff is a Certified Tutor by American Tutoring Association and National Tutoring Association (Math); he holds California Teaching Credentials in Math (CSET I,II,III), Business (I,II,III), and Educational Technology/Computers (I,II); he is a Sylvan Certified Teacher in Math and Arts/Language K-12.

About Clifford

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students
and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I am currently a math major and I have finished math classes all the way to transformation geometry (proof-based). Currently, I'm enrolled in number theory. I have gotten mostly A's and B's in my math classes. I am able to help out students of any age up to Multivariable Calculus 2. I am also able to travel at most 15 miles out of my city (Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino) and am very patient when it comes to teaching math, as I understand it can be a difficult and frustrating subject.

Math is truly a challenge for many people. I would like to help you in conquering this subject and help you understand this in your own way, instead of trying to teach it to you by copying off a book. Math may look complicated, and yes it could become a real pain. One thing teachers or professors are never willing to teach you are the tricks on turning math into a game. Let me show you how math can be answered like answering a text, instead of spending hours trying to discover the trick.

About Danschnieder
Hello my name is Danschneider. I cannot wait to meet all of you. I have been teaching chess, singing, English, algebra, and basic Math since 2002. I am more than happy to teach in-home, or in-studio to anyone. I have been a martial arts practitioner since the age 15, in different martial arts reigning from Hung Gar kung fu, Karate, and my specialty the Filipino martial art of Eskrima. I have years of experience teaching drawing from basic line drawing, to shading, coloring, etc.. I write my own original poems. I have been working with two non- profit groups such as KIWANIS and S.I.P.A. Under KIWANIS I became more in tuned with different kinds of people.I'm also very good with the children and teens. S.I.P.A. was a program where I worked with children from ages 6-12. I might not be a parent, but I know how to keep the kids enthusiastic and
cheerful . I am willing to teach and work with anyone.

Hello,

I'm a state certified math teacher for 6-12. I have taught math, physical science, and life science for 4 years at the middle school level at a private school in Los Angeles.

I focus on making sure students understand the language of math. I incorporate quality note taking methods, as well as ensure students are solving problems with an organized step by step approach.

I also have an extensive science and engineering background knowledge both in-school and in practical application with 13 years of engineering experience in industry. I often connect the raw math concepts with their applications in secondary level science subjects like physics and chemistry.

For high school students, I always stress the key Algebra principles for the ACT and SAT.

For college students, I am able to cover differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, and statistics.

I can meet in person, but given the horrible LA traffic, I would prefer to conduct online sessions in which I can both ...

About Mark
Hi!

I'm a former engineer turned math and science teacher. My Mechanical Engineering education is from Stanford and my masters in Engineering Management is from Milwaukee School of Engineering. I have over 6 years of teaching experience in public, charter, and private school classrooms. I have 2 years of experience working part-time at one of the top-tier professional tutoring centers in the nation which has trained me to teach subjects ranging from beginning reading to high school courses and SAT/ACT prep.

I can teach any math from K-college. I like to say "K thru Calc!"! I have a passion for learning and try my best to light the fire for learning in all of my students. When it comes to the nuts and bolts of math, that's the easy part, but I take it father and have fun with math through story telling, connection with language and with
hands on applications (which can still be done online!).

Try me as a tutor and you will not be disappointed... : )

I have 17+ years and 2 Masters Degrees teaching K-6th grade. I have extensive training in mathematical concept development. A student can only reach their mathematical potential once they have mastered the skills necessary to understand i's foundation. I focus on the principals of a base 10 system and I am competent in Common Core.
For many struggling children the effort it takes to complete a math assignment interferes with their desire to do math at all. If we want children to become competent mathematicians we must build a reason for learning the process. My curriculum will be tailored to your child and will attempt to to find topics that they are interested in at their level.

About Kate
I am a professional teacher. I see myself as your coach as you will be doing the work of learning and I'm just here to support you in achieving your goals. I have a love for learning and am an avid reader of children's literature. I believe in being relevant to current events and cultural sensitivity. I have a child with special needs, so I understand a parent’s perspective of their own child’s unique navigation of the school system. I create a positive learning environment that is dedicated to your child and their interests.
