As someone that has rehearsed and worked on chamber music with Antonio, I have to say that his pedagogy extends much further than bassoon. His background in rehearsal techniques and broad musical knowledge have been indispensable during our rehearsals, and he has often pointed out ways in which I can fine tune the expressionistic or technical aspects of my playing. Awesome teacher!

I am very pleased with Lee. She is very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. We spent time assessing where I am skills wise and what I am seeking from these lessons. I really appreciate that so as to not waste either of our time. Thanks Lee.

I’m just starting to learn and I’ve tried a couple other classes but it’s difficult to follow along with live lessons. Hers was slower and more detailed, showing the chords clearly- and talking about the timing was very helpful! She even took the time to answer my question about being unable to hold the strings correctly. Great teacher!

Our daughter has really enjoyed getting to know Lee and genuinely looks forward to the lesson time with her each week. We’re also pleased with how well our daughter has been doing on her instrument since beginning lessons.

He is a well trained musician with a lot of patience, which for our lessons went a long way. He is quick to help you find the right correction to technique, and will always cater to your personal needs. His lessons work well even online, as he is able to succinctly verbalize what and how something to be worked on. I highly recommend him as a teacher!

Carl Gardner is an A1 bassoonist. Over the past year and few months he’s improved everything about my playing, technically and musically, and helped me achieve goals I previously thought were impossible. His reeds are immaculate! 5/5 stars would recommend him to any bassoonist I meet.

Social distancing will not interfere with solo competition! Carl made certain that my daughter did not miss a lesson by proactively finding a way to have one online. Although she prefers to be taught in person, this has definitely allayed her fears of not having her solo polished and ready for competition!

"As an adult student I’ve had multiple bassoon teachers over the years and Cassandra is by far the best! She is a skilled bassoonists and has all the technical skills, but even more importantly she makes it fun, approachable and inspires her students to love the bassoon and music in general! I’d highly recommend her for kids and adults, Beginner’s or experienced players alike who want to master the bassoon in a positive way."

"My son had his first lesson today and really enjoyed it. I sat and watched and thought that the instructor was very patient and you could hear it in his voice and general mannerisms. He gave my son some great tips for memorizing his fingering and gave him a homework assignment to work on until our next lesson. My son decided to transition from the trombone to bassoon before the new school year starts and these private lessons are just the head start he will need before day 1 of school."

"Lee Quick has been an exceptional online bassoon instructor for our 15 year old from middle school into high school. We have had experience with face to face lessons with two other highly regarded private instructors and, in comparison, the online lessons with Lee have been consistently enjoyable and a highlight of the week for our daughter. Lee provided very helpful hints and tips for perfecting performances with the school orchestra the regional youth orchestra. Lee also helped our daughter sustain her interest and skill on the instrument by providing music and suggestions for exercises and continued development when she was not formally involved in any performance programs. Highly recommended."

"Am a beginner with musical background on other instruments. Have only had one lesson so far, but it was great. Kristilyn communicates concepts simply and clearly and puts you at ease. A true educator, she understand where you are having problems and knows how to help you fix them. She not only explains the 'how,' but also the 'why,' and teaches with comparisons to common every day actions to illustrate concepts as they relate to playing the bassoon. She answered questions before my lesson, which greatly aided me as I was deciding which brand and model bassoon to buy. I feel lucky to have found such a person to take on a bassoon beginner. Can hardly wait to advance to be able to mine the knowledge and experience of this resource in more depth."

"My daughter has been taking lessons from Jack since August 2017. Along with helping a student with performance, he educates the student on bassoon history and the unique qualities of the bassoon. He is great at starting at the student's level, but will challenging the student in subtle ways. At times he can be very entertaining. He shows his mastery of the bassoon (occasionally performing to demonstrate the nuances of a difficult piece of music). My daughter has enjoyed learning from Jack."

"I switched from trombone to bassoon in my sophomore year of high school and took lessons with Cassandra for my junior and senior years. In that time, I learned faster and better than with any music instructor I've had in my life. Part of it was the necessity of learning how to play at a high school level incredibly rapidly, but most of it was due to Cassandra making it easy and fun to learn and practice. She was amazing at identifying bad habits or roadblocks before they became huge issues that were hard to address and coming up with solutions to help me get past them. And more than anything, she made me confident enough in my skill to truly enjoy practicing and playing again."
