About Erasmo
I have been teaching and writing music professionally for ten years. My first introduction to music was just like some of you, starting in high school where I had a great teacher that encouraged me to play. This helped me so much, and I wouldn't be where I am at if it weren't for his help and positive encouragement. Now I try to encourage all of my students the same way.
After high school I went on and played percussion with various Orchestras such as the "Inland Valley Symphony Orchestra" and "Mt. San Jacinto Symphony Orchestra."
I have also been involved in the DCI (Drum Corps International) and Drumline community. I toured for four years and experienced performing with groups such as Yamato Drum and Bugle Corps 2002-2005, Black Knights 2006, and RCC marching and winter percussion under the direct
During my college years I started playing Jazz Vibraphone in my school's top big-band. This allowed me the opportunity to play Jazz Piano which I have performed and still study until this day. As a result, Jazz has now become one of my biggest passions.
As a Professional International Composer, I have had the privilege of writing and arranging for many marching bands, wind ensembles, and indoor percussion ensembles, including orchestrations, recordings and sequencing projects for media, and musical theatre in the United States and Japan.
I am also currently an adjudicator for the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) and a member of the Vic-Firth Education Team.
I hope that this gives you a close and personal Idea of where I come from and hope that I can help you get the most out of your experience with music.
*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that in order for you to get the most out of our lessons it takes both, the Teacher's and Student's understanding and attention from both ends. sometimes giving all of the information in the world won't help if one there is no engagement and two if me as a teacher don't make sure that you understand. So I like to make sure to explain things in more than one way to make sure the student understands the concepts and what to practice.
I like to keep a relaxed atmosphere, but also making sure that there is a high level of professionalism and expectation of attentiveness from the student.
Of course, I also understand that this all depends on the age of the student, and as we meet and get to see what it is that you want to focus on and I will make sure to concentrate on that and help you reach your goals!
*** Studio Equipment ***
Mallets, Concert and Marching Sticks, Metronome, Practice pad, and Literature.
(Acoustic and Electric Piano are available depending on the time we arrange our lessons at the studio)
(Electric Drumset Available soon)
*** Travel Equipment ***

(I sometimes bring additional implements, such as hand drums, like a djembe and other accessories, depending on the focus of our lessons.)
I may be able to bring a Keyboard upon request
*** Specialties ***
I have been performing with Drum and bugle corps since 2002, (DCI)
Marching Rudimental, and Concert Percussion styles. All Percussion.

Vir is beyond your typical vocal coach. He was a huge help on things like pitch accuracy and phrasing, but more than anything, his focus on getting me to tap into and harness my inner power has already paid huge dividends in my recordings and performances. Further, Vir is an amazing person to know and his home-studio in Berkeley is magnificent!

My purpose is for my students to achieve his/her talents and to motivate them to study often. I'm strict in pursuing that, but I'm flexible too. My methods are utilizing different musical techniques that could help my students achieve their potential. Mostly every six months students participate in a recital to demonstrate what they have learned. My student's parents and friends are invited to the recitals so they can enjoy the student's performances.

This is a one hour class devoted to learning and playing both piano and drum set. Both in the percussion family, learning to melodic and chordal with the piano and learning strict rhythm will enhance learning music in one class. I am fluent in both instruments and will be accompanying the student throughout the lesson.
About Michelle
I have traveled the world to perform music. I have been to Brazil to study samba and its many different styles with the World Percussion Program of CSU Long Beach in 2006 and 2007. In 2012, I traveled to Colombia and Venezuela to perform with the band of Terratour, a humanitarian group. While touring, we collaborated with local musicians in local venues.
You may have noticed from my photos and videos that I'm a Carpenters fan. I sing, play piano and drums. The Carpenters are my musical inspirations and that's exactly how I perform- with te
My teaching is focused on reading the notes (pitch), proper technique and rhythm. All are a part of the music-making process and should be equally strong. I start with young beginners when they can count to at least 10 and know the alphabet. The student must have the proper instrument and additional equipment, when necessary. The student is required to practice on a regular basis (daily is ideal).
I am currently available for online or in-studio lessons. Please notify me if there is a day and time not available. I try to be flexible but do prefer serious and committed students. When signing up a child for the first time, it is best to make a one year commitment so the child can really learn to work alone and develop self-discipline and parental guidance and support is necessary for success. For adults, commitment to practicing is key- not just lesson attendance.
You have all the ability and power to learn and be great- I'm just going to guide you all the way to your goal!
Please notify me of the special need prior to booking lessons so I can accommodate.

About Ray
My name is Ray, I'm 30 years old, and was born in Queens, NY. I studied classical music for many years as a youngster at the Aaron Copeland School of Music college preparatory program. During this program I was introduced to Jazz, and around the same time began experimenting with synthesizers. I went on to study Electronic Production & Design at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and quickly became a very sought after studio musician and performer.
I've been successfully teaching many instruments and proficiency levels for 16+ years now, and can say with pride that teaching is my passion, and I anticipate it being a very important part of the rest of my life.
I enjoy reading nonfiction books on science, math, and philosophy, and am building a career as a pop music producer.
*** Lesson Details ***
My music lessons
1. I have a very deep understanding of music, sound, and theory, and feel music to be one of my native languages.
2. I have devoted considerable amounts of time and energy studying neuroscience, which has greatly improved my understanding of the learning process.
3. I have been blessed with the tremendous amount of patience necessary to guide a student through the necessary steps it takes to learn at whatever pace is optimal, in order to maximize the efficiency of the learning process for each individual.
*** Equipment ***
Students must have their own instrument, and purchase their own materials (books, etc). From time to time I make my way to a local music shop, and am happy to purchase materials for reimbursement.
*** Specialties ***
Classical music is my background, and what I believe to be the most cognitively and emotionally fulfilling style of music to study and play. That said, I'm also a big fan of pop music (as well as other genres), and encourage students to enjoy learning their favorite songs from the radio.
My understanding of music theory is extremely thorough, and I'm happy to incorporate as much or as little of it as the student's interest dictates, nevertheless maintaining the minimal amount of theory necessary to get the most out of learning music and the instrument.
Thanks for checking out my profile! Please contact me with any additional questions you may have, as well as to inquire about day/time availability. I'll do my best to get back to you right away (usually within a few hours).

Every student's lesson can be different. But some of the main points we will hit are:rudiments, technique on various percussion instrument (snare, bass, keyboards, timpani, etc.) Ear training for tuning on timpani and scales for the keyboards and mallet instruments.
If you need services for any other instruments, please make sure you have access to them. These lessons are only offered in the student's home
About Brianna
History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.
Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!
Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

He prepared the class according to my interests and made the class totally enjoyable. He is absolutely patient. I have no musical background and English is not my first language, so teaching someone like myself if a challenge. But Jack not only increased my drumming knowledge but also my passion for playing drums. Thank you Jack!
Unfortunately, I moved again, otherwise I would still be playing drums with him.
