Music has been my passion since I was 10 years old. I didn't have any real instruments at first, so, I built my own out of coffee cans, ice cream containers and of course: a rubber band shoebox guitar! It might sound funny, but, I believe these early days of trying to create music using my "homemade symphony," forced me to really get to the core of sound and expression without the pre-set curriculum of traditional music study. Early on, I learned a few fundamental concepts of music theory that would forever change how I learned, as well as how I taught music to others. I believe these concepts set a foundation that allowed me to understand music and grow much faster - including learning multiple instruments.
And yes, I eventually acquired a real guitar and went on to study music and computers at the University of California and I currently compose music for TV and film in my own studio. I have taught guitar, bass, piano, drums, theory, composition and recording production to ...

I'm Ahmad a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.
I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, ...

Highly Recommended!
He knows his music theory and has a great ear, which helps as he explains not only how a song goes, but the fundamental behind it. He also is very prepared with plans and practice sheets and tries to make lessons laid back and enjoyable.
Highly recommend taking lessons from this guy.

My easy going and patient personality allows me to teach my students to become their best, whether they are just starting out or are more advanced in guitar. I believe the positive relationship between teacher and student is a crucial part of a student's success in learning while having fun playing. My focus is for my students to leave each lesson feeling confident and empowered to want to play and learn more each day. I know what it's like to go from knowing nothing about the guitar to becoming a seasoned musician, so I use extreme patience, encouragement, and guidance with simple guitar techniques. My focus for the beginner is to teach the fundamentals and basic chords for them to play their favorite songs as quickly as possible using a variety of books and personal instruction. For the more advanced player, I focus on theory and advanced techniques to challenge them to play at a higher level. My overall goal is to see the success and achievements of my students to play with ...

I've been playing guitar for 34 teaching for 17years and music is my passion. Born and raised in New York, I grew up in a musical household as my mother was a professional piano player in New York and I was exposed to the industry at an early age. After leaving college in New York, I moved to San

Marty is a fantastic teacher. Heâs been great teaching my 14 year old daughter. Heâs very patient and makes playing the guitar so simple for her. The first lesson he really was interested in what SHE wanted to eventually be able to play, then taught her some basics and a few simple cords. By the end of the lesson, she was playing a simple song and was so excited. Also very respectful to me as her parent and has a gentle, non-aggressive personality making us both very comfortable. My daughter now even is writing her own songs and playing guitar to them. I would highly recommend Marty as a guitar teacher, he really knows what heâs doing.

My students learn basic note reading, strumming and technique. We have fun writing songs, too! Students can expect to complete Hal Leonard's Guitar Book One, plus Hal Leonard's Easy Pop Melodies, along with plenty of supplemental songs.

I've been teaching guitar since 2010, starting with a classical foundation and branching out into about everything I could get my hands on. I learned that there is a fundamental set of skills that make just about everything possible. I encourage beginner students to start with whatever they are drawn to, no matter how obscure or cliche. As they come along I help them realize what is common to all things musical and develop the skills that are equally useful in all styles so they have the freedom to explore anything their heart desires effectively.
About Jonathan
I studied music therapy and music theory at Temple University from '06-'10. Learned a lot. Then again, I learned even more teaching at a school for kids with learning disabilities and working as a traveling street performer. Once you see the world and work with some unexpected challenges, you learn

I would also encourage you to take advantage of David's expertise as an engineer if you are his student. He has recorded many bands and is very generous with his home studio for his students. The ability to record without the pressure of "being in the studio" is huge. Even if you do not currently have plans to record, the experience of playing in front of a microphone is very educational and listening to the subsequent recording is a great learning tool.
Taking lessons are pointless if both sides are not engaged. David is a rare guitar teacher who is committed to the growth of every student. If you are similarly committed to your own growth, I can't think of a better teacher for you to study the guitar with."

One of the great things about Ahmad is he listens to you and adjusts lesson content based on the feedback you provide. His ability to listen allows Ahmad to deliver a personalized lesson plan that incorporates your goals and gets you excited about what you are working on.
Ahmad also has taught me techniques to prevent and address minor aches that come up while learning to play. He takes this seriously and shows you how to prevent and resolve any issues that come up.
Overall, taking lessons from Ahmad has been a very positive experience. I look forward to continuing working with him to get better."
