I've been drawing all my life and still enjoy it. It's a great pastime and a creative way to express yourself. You'll need, pencils, large pad of paper and to keep a sketch book for this class. You'll learn different techniques and ways to see things on paper. If you want classes in the Manhattan Beach library, let me know, and give me some time, so I can schedule a room there in advance.

Ruth was amazingly helpful. She was clear knowledgeable and a great communicator. She was able to solve all my issues and answer all my questions. I highly recommend her as a teacher for illustration

My 1st animation lesson with Ruthie was a BLAST! She had me share my project ideas in writing before we met so she had a sense of what I wanted to work on, and helped me clarify my vision. Even though I’m a beginner at animation, Ruthie used her expertise and wonderful teaching style to help me learn some basic skills with a new program so that I can try things on my own. I can’t wait for my next lesson! Thank you Ruthie!

A gem of an instructor. Knowledgeable, pleasant and willing to teach. She first inquired what I wanted to accomplish and followed through with it. This had to be the best instructional hour I've had in Photoshop.

"Margot G. is a wonderful teacher. She has the ability to immediately set her students at ease, regardless of their abilities and experiences. (I have extremely poor handwriting, and did not feel intimidated or afraid to try to learn how to do brush strokes and create surprisingly pleasing cards and notes.) Margot knows her craft, and knows how to teach and then offer support to her students. The class was entertaining as well as fun. I learned many skills in a short time period."

"Mr. Ohashi is an excellent teacher! He is incredibly engaging and encouraging with my children. He comes up with the most unique and creative projects that the kids love. He has also begun teaching technique as my daughter gets older. She has taken lessons with him for 4 years and has really improved and become very serious about art. She was even chosen for a citywide art competition which I attribute to his teaching."

"Mr. Ohashi's classes have been invaluable. I never considered myself to have any great talent in art, but I did have a great interest that, after some failed attempts and false starts, led me to Mr. Ohashi. I couldn't be happier with the teacher I found. With the benefit of Mr. Ohashi's patience, dedication, and sly sense of humor, I've been able to create work I am truly proud of (and which consistently surprises and impresses family and friends) that I wouldn't have thought possible when I first began with him. He is able to impart the fundamental concepts of painting and art-making while still encouraging me to explore a style that is my own. Seeing proof of my own development and increasing skill under Mr. Ohashi's guidance has been incredibly rewarding. I couldn't recommend him more strongly or thank him enough."
