会说中文吗?I painstakingly studied every day while living in Shanghai, and after three years I was able to pass the HSK4. I love the strange tones, the inflections, the writing, the reading, all of it. I have plenty of materials to help students study each character and put together the strange grammar.

If you plan to use Chinese at work, we can focus our lessons around dialogue and vocabulary that relates directly to your job or industry. If you are a student and want to improve your academic performance in Chinese, I can train you to utilize more efficient ways of studying and practicing. Mastering the fundamentals is essential to language learning. I focus on building a strong foundation of accurate sounds and tones, using familiar examples to make connections stick. I have more than nine years of language teaching experience. I have learned five languages over the years in China and overseas. I started tutoring Chinese students (age 8-16) English and Chinese when I was 19 and I founded my first summer camp in China when I was 20. Students who had registered for my summer camp increased from 25 in 2010 to 86 in 2016. I've gained very valuable skills and perspectives in teaching, not just as a teacher, but also as a student--students are my teachers too--I've learned there are always places that I can improve and better help them learn languages. Students' "needs" and "wants" are prioritized. It helps students achieve their goals while combined with students' "lacks" in lesson planning. Students should get involved in the lesson planning process.

Guifang's experience as a teacher shines through in her lessons.
Learning a new language takes time, especially with Chinese where there is so much cultural backgrounds and history of language and I feel that Guifang understands this. She really makes the learning experience stress free as well as enjoyable.

About Bill
I have always been a self-studier in my entire life. Being able to learn with just books and your brain is a crucial skill to have! However, I know not everyone (and sometimes even myself) have the discipline and motivation to keep going during hard times. This is where a tutor would come in handy.
