When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

Rachel is a fantastic teacher and really understands the kind of music I am into and want to emulate vocally. She is super cool, very encouraging and just overall awesome on every level. Couldn't ask for more.
I highly recommend taking lessons with her!"

My daughter Julia has been taking singing lessons with Danielle since July. Julia is in second grade and this is her first time taking singing lessons. Danielle has devoted so much time to researching good vocal exercises and music selections for a young singer and also to learning the songs Julia was interested in singing. Danielle always follows up within 24 hours with the audio for the lesson and an encouraging email. Danielle is very patient with Julia and takes a genuine interest in her. She listens to the little stories Julia likes to share with her and remembers details of what Julia shares, and has even taken a little extra time to teach Julia a little about playing the keyboard. I can't say enough good things about Danielle. She is a fantastic teacher and a lovely person."

I've made HUGE improvements over the past few months. Through his instruction, I've unlocked so much more of my voice than when I first started singing with him. I'm shy and laugh a lot, so it was difficult for me to get comfortable with a few of the exercises. While taking the singing, breathing and improving my voice oh so seriously, we laugh and have fun which makes me feel a lot more comfortable.
I would recommend Benjamin to anyone looking to learn to do anything as he is a great teacher. I already do recommend him to my friends for singing lessons."

Randy taught me how to play better from the first day we met. We are getting deeper into theory and I write my own charts now. It has been a blast the whole time."

Descartes once said, "I'm tone deaf, therefore I'm hopeless." Wait, no, that's not right. But the debate is certainly real: Is there such a thing as being "tone deaf"? And if so, should the hopeless few bother with singing lessons if their dream is to one day perform on stage? Much like mastering any other skill, learning to sing comes with many common misconceptions from outsiders. So read on - we're about to debunk them! 1. Singing lessons are for people who can't sing. How do you sing with vibrato? Find out how to develop your technique in this guest post by Hayward, CA teacher Molly R... One of the main things beginning singers tend to worry about is lack of vibrato. “How do I make it happen?” they ask... sometimes at the first lesson. I usually make it very clear right away that you cannot force vibrato! If you do, you can easily damage your voice or create a very ugly “wobble." Vibrato is something you have to LET happen. Here are so …

Are you a soprano? Keep your voice in great shape with these tips from Saint Augustine, FL voice teacher Heather L... Being born a soprano comes with both its perks and its challenges. On the one hand, we sopranos have a lot of the solos in choruses and choirs, and most of the highly dramatic arias and ballads. On the other hand, we tend to overwork and abuse our voice more often and get diagnosed with a lot more pathologies of the voice. Every voice type is special, and soprano singers ha …
