Hi. This is Jessica H. Currently I just graduated from San Francisco conservatory of music with Masters degree. I am a very patient person who has huge passion about working with kids.I have been teaching piano over 15 years. Since I have been teaching a quite long time. I have had students who past the highest level of ABRSM exams. I can be more serious and push a student to get ahead, or simply teach to have fun - to appreciate and enjoy music. I have learned, is to expect the best, pay closest attention to the students - to what they are ready for, what they want, what they are struggling with, and have a good sense of humor. Inspiring and developing students passion into music.
By the way before you book lessons I want you to know that I only take the students who are willing to take lesson weekly.

Jessica is a professional. Her studio is set up to accommodate a student in maximum privacy and comfort. She Is a lovely young woman who obviously enjoys her craft and is skilled at teaching in a compassionate way yet sets a high standard for her student. It would be important for a student to be self-motivated to PRACTICE diligently. Jessica does not demand that a student practice, but expects that her student will have practiced. I compliment her teaching. One final note: she is kind.

I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston.
I'm currently accepting students in San Francisco and surrounding areas for cello, piano, guitar, beatboxing, and live looping.

I have a patient and relaxed attitude toward teaching with an emphasis on a balance between having fun while learning and developing the methodology of practice and discipline.
Lessons are taught in your home or at my studio in the Mission District.

About Joseph
Joey aka CelloJoe is an anomaly in the world of cellists.

By combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: Classical Hip Hop.

CelloJoe records live on stage with a loop pedal and produces intricate tapestries of harmony, melody, and rhythm. His beatboxing (vocal percussion) and funky cello grooves form a rich soundscape for intelligent lyrics and his music spreads love, joy, laughter and conscious vibrations.

By beatboxing, throatsinging, singing, plucking and bowing the cello, CelloJoe can mimic many styles of music from dubstep to folk to rock to classical to hip hop.

CelloJoe is the world's first long distance musical bike touring cellist.
He has ridden his bike over 10,000 miles in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.

Joey has been a great cello teacher. I like the fact that his experience covers a broad range of music. When I want to make an arrangement of a heavy metal song, or I need to learn the nuance of baroque performance, he's there.
He's a working musician so his schedule is somewhat variable, but he is good about communicating and always comes when he says he will. He's personable and enthusiastic.

As a passionate cello player, I want my students to have fun but also really understand their instrument and the music they are playing! As a student of mine you can expect to improve your playing skills week to week. I can teach from the very first lesson on. Students will learn techniques to improve their playing and will play fun music. If you are interested in learning improvisation, I can help with that, too. I enjoy teaching violin, viola and cello.
I am most passionate about teaching students to become independent, critical thinking musicians who will be able to rely on their own knowledge to learn new music as they go along. I stress music reading, ear training, and strong fundamentals in playing. I am very encouraging, love spreading my love of music.

About Melissa
I began playing violin in elementary school, and immediately knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My first words as a baby were lyrics because I sang before I spoke. I played violin until 11th grade when I fell in love with the sound of the viola.
I studied music performance and music education in college and I have a bachelors degree in both. I have played professionally in orchestras, quartets, as a soloist, and in many rock and folk settings. I have even put my violin and viola through a distortion pedal and a wah wah pedal in heavy metal/punk music. I have over 17 years of teaching experience and am a licensed teacher in the state of virginia. I have taught in a classroom as well as privately, and have also taught students with autism.
